To be the devil's advocate here... I loved the rest of the series but didn't enjoy Disgaea 2.

The characters are extremely annoying, especially those with nails-on-chalkboard whiny voices.. the dialogue makes me cringe, while the writing in the rest of the series tends to be pretty funny. It also didn't seem to add much in the way of mechanics, compared to the other sequels, so the gameplay, to me, just felt like more of the same. For these reasons, it's the only Disgaea I haven't been able to finish.
I agree but to less extent. Disgaea 2 is my least favorite in the series for the same reason but I liked it enough to finish it and would say it's definitely worth 10 bucks.

For me its 4>3 on Vita>1>3>2

I hated 2 for so many reasons, the characters were boring, and the story wasnt good at all. It just felt like a generic RPG story.
The key is practice makes perfect as you stated.

It wasn't really hard until Wily 1, cause theres 3 boss fights IIRC. But wily 4 is probably the harddest by far. 11 boss fights altogether. You can save after every level in MM10 to make it easier, and falling on spikes doesn't count if you have that item. Also you can play it on easy mode and as any character you want.

I played up to wily 1, gave up one day and forgot which save file had the perfect run going so I abandoned it rather than risk beating Wily 1-4 and then not getting the achievement

These boil down to luck / skill, but this still isn't as bad as beating Hard Corps without dying.
I'm dreading Wily. I'm playing on Normal with Proto. I beat it just once with Bass, but I don't like his inability to shoot while moving. Plus Proto's shield and charge shot really come through in a tight spot. But as a frame of reference, when I first started on Tuesday after downloading, I couldn't make it through Sheep Man without dying at the first mini boss every single time. Now I can do it with my eyes closed. And I SUCK at platformers. So really, just keep it up and even a complete idiot can do it.

Like me!
Keep in mind that Orgarhythm was the one that was announced as a permanent price drop. So if it's not cheap enough for you, just wait out for an additional sale on it.
Ahh, forgot about that. Yeah, maybe I'll wait for that to happen, then another sale to let me focus on other games at the moment. Thanks for reminding me.

So I finally got back into Tokyo Jungle. I've just been unlocking animals as fast as I can until I get to the Black Panther, then I'll start leveling him up and use him to try to get the trophy for doing all of the challenges. Then I'll use one of the animals you get from beating the story to cheat my way to 100 years, haha.

Since we're kinda just talking about random games, I'll say that I've been extremely impressed with Dokuro. Finished up the game this afternoon, but I gotta go back and replay some levels to get my finish time under 250 minutes (I'm a slow player). I only had to look up solutions for about 5 levels, (one of which I just forgot the blue chalk existed) most the puzzles are tough but fair. Lots of content, was well worth my $9.99.

Don't know if I'll be going for the platinum, not sure I want to try and complete all of Stage 14 without getting hit.

Not sure if it helps / matters, but I thought Orgarhythm is the worst Vita game at the moment (and I own Earth Defense Force). The gameplay is quite convoluted (it gets quite fast paced too =.:speaktothehand:;), it's not really long and it's impossible to platinum without finding someone who owns the game in person (or vita Ad Hoc party... though I don't know if it works). To this day I don't see why so many people reviewed it highly (averaged a 7 - 8). I assumed it was over it being unique / different, but so many people told me off that I like to assume I just missed something great about it.

Stage 14 isn't too bad once you know how to play the game. The hard one is beating the final boss, since you can only attack him during a few select instances.
Does Dokuro have any missable trophies?
Yes / No.

Every stage has an optional collectible (not usually hard to find, but can be hard to figure out), plus you need to beat the game in a certain amount of time, so every stage needs to be done quickly. Unless you're bad, stupid, slow, or lazy, it's not INSANELY hard to do, since I spent 15 minutes on the final boss and still got the time trophy without redoing any stages. Also every stage can be replayed, done faster (thus lowering your overall time) and so while you can miss stuff, you can easily get them later.

By missable, I meant you would have to start a new game to get them (ie: miss a collectible in level 10 but after you beat the game, you'd have to start a whole new game to get back to level 10), but good, that'll probably be the next game I play.

I'm probably going to pick up EDF when it gets a price drop; what makes it the worst Vita game?
I'm probably going to pick up EDF when it gets a price drop; what makes it the worst Vita game?
I just thought it was quite convoluted and hard to play.

Now it has been a while since I've played it (so I might get things wrong), but the game worked like this. Basically every color had a strength and a weakness, which is important to win any battle. If you want ANY chance of beating this game, you must ALWAYS send the right troops to fight the right enemies. Anyway, once you select what color you want, you need to select the right warrior type. Sometimes this is easy, like if enemies are far away / high up, then you use the archer. If the enemy is rushing you, send swords men. Next you need to set your location. Location needs to account for where you're vs where the enemy, so you need to think ahead. Also the length of the line determines how many peons you send, which means you got to think of it logically.

At first glance this might not sound hard, but this ALL has to be done while keeping the beat. The better you do, the more troops you get and the higher their level is. Failing to do this will result in less power / reinforcements, so this makes a bigger difference than the aforementioned elements. Also every stage moves at different speeds, some might move PAINFULLY slow, where as others move EXTREMELY fast, so you got to constantly adapt.

Toss in the fact there is only 1 single player mode, all the multiplayer modes are ad hoc and very few people actually finished the game*, I like to think many people agree.

* According to Yourgamercard only 48 / 472 people actually beat the game, but only 17 were able to beat it on normal and a mere 13 accomplished hard mode. Note that this list is shared with Japan and should also include EU, which means most people gave up on this game before beating it. Also the number seems to plummet after stage 5, so that seems to be where most people gave up.
Ok.... so what about Earth Defense Force? That sounds nothing like the EDF I know.
It was Orgarhythm, since I was calling it the worst Vita game. My reference to EDF was simply that I am not comparing Orgarhythm to Hatsune Miku Project Diva F, Gravity Daze, WipEout and other quality titles.

Except there are plenty of people that think EDF is a high quality title for the Vita... you know what, nevermind.

Wait Hatsune Miku Project Diva F is a quality title? I thought all you did was touch her through the screen with your fingers lol.

It is. All the music stuff is just extra.

i got the 100 years and completed all challenges with a house cat.
100 years isn't too difficult once you know how to deal with radiation and are good at timing breeding to avoid certain death.

the challenges are significantly more difficult - you're going to want to keep restarting till the final couple set of challenges are reasonable (some are FAR harder than others). odds are, by the time you're solid enough to accomplish all challenges, the 100 years will be a relative cakewalk.

theres certainly no need to 'cheat' it in anyway, though i'm not really sure what you meant by that anyway. both are perfectly doable.

For the 100 years, you can use one of the creatures you unlock through the story mode (
either of the robot dogs
) and just hang out in the sewers under Yogogi park and drink water for 100 years.

I was extremely close to getting Can-Do on my first try today with the black panther but fucked it up when I tried to kill the wrong dinosaur with a clean kill (one dinosaur you can, the other you can't) and he completely destroyed me. I was literally a few minutes away from getting it, I was so pissed at myself.

Fuuuuuuck, I was so close again. I'm startin to hate this game.

I did it with porcupine first, it wasn't so bad. I'm talking about the 100 years. The challenges were a bitch to do if you got the kill 35 animals or 5000 something calories on the last part since that is when dinosaurs start spawning. Thankfully the sewers are there.

There is a way to "cheat" the game. With the dogs you can just cheat the 100 year thing by finding two water sources relatively close and just going back and forth.

For the challenges you can just restart until you find some easy ones for the last part of the challenges.

Definitely still laggy but it has improved. Much faster navigating and looking through stuff now.

I just did a delete and re-install of the whole thing and do see a marked improvement. So I recommend if you are still seeing the herky jerkiness to delete it all and have the system re-download the store and update.

That is a good idea!

In the spirit of the ongoing US vs. EU saga, anyone know why Frobisher Says! hasn't been trophy patched stateside? After about half an hour of opening and closing the game in quick succession, hoping to prompt an update, I realized there actually isn't one available here. Makes no sense at all, considering they released the same DLC pack in both regions. I would even consider buying it.

same thing happened with tom blitz. I suspect publishers often use the eu to soak new patches for a while before releasing them in the us as a last round of testing/bug finding.
In the spirit of the ongoing US vs. EU saga, anyone know why Frobisher Says! hasn't been trophy patched stateside? I asked the dev on Facebook when the patch was coming and he just said:

Shouldn't be too much longer, some technical issues which we're trying to sort out ASAP.

Chronovolt in EU had a bug when collecting 2 Chronovolts in the last level.
Only way to get them was dlc, wait for patch or use this video.
