All aboard for Over-Reaction Central!
Anyone have any opinions on either of the Corpse Party games? They seem cool in a different sort of way.
The first one is excellent if you like atmospheric horror and lots of text. I understand that the new one is just as good or better, though even more text-heavy. Make sure to start with the original. BoS isn't a direct sequel, but I hear it will spoil the hell out of the original, which is definitely worth experiencing.

EDIT: Also, THAT SOUNDTRACK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IHj1sRjHIA&list=SPC63672E893D00DD5&index=34

Go ahead and play them in order. AND WEAR HEADPHONES!! Cannot stress this enough.
Thank you! The first helped me out a lot. I heard that some PS1 game are not compatible.

I wish the Vita had two account slots. Would have loved to play some games from the JPN store.
Connect your Vita to your PS3, transfer the files over? I think that works for multi-acount stuff. I was able to get the Hatsune Miku / Fate Stay PS Vita demos that way.

On Playstation Mobile, Samurai Beatdown is now free for everyone It's suppose to be a beat-matching side-scrolling action game, but the timing to slash the enemies sometimes doesn't match up with anything in the background song. Other than that, it's okay. Free is free.

Agree x1,000. Wearing headphones while playing this will freak you the fuck out!

I guess Sony just might be making them free for all markets that have PlayStation Mobile. If this is the case, we can expect more free PlayStation Mobile games in the coming weeks.

Japan has to deal with the new PSN store as of today, heh.

& wow, downloaded the update for the PS Store & I've noticed it loads fairly faster now. Pretty much the one major complaint I had with the redesign, so glad to see it got fixed.

Somebody needs repair work done on their "Sarcasm Detector". :D

As it's been mentioned, free games for PS mobile for the next six weeks.

Have an Android device that isn't one of the select few that's PlayStation certified? If you have a rooted phone, here's how to install PS Mobile on it.

I've successfully done this on both a low end Gingerbread phone and a newer ICS device. If you don't want to play these on your phone and are planning on getting a Vita some day, it will add them to your account for later download.
Somebody needs repair work done on their "Sarcasm Detector". :D
I don't think he was being sarcastic. If he was, he didn't do a very good job of making it at least a little bit clear, as sarcasm can be difficult to read in text form. Also LOL at quoting something from 26 days ago. :D
As it's been mentioned, free games for PS mobile for the next six weeks.
Pardon my ignorance, but are these games permanently free? Or only free for a limited time? I didn't see mention of either in the article.

Also, Frisky, I see that you did not mention Darksiders being free for PS+ in the title of the thread. I admittedly don't pay much attention to the thread title, as I basically live here. But do you normally not mention the free PS+ games in the thread title?

Free for one week, but once you download them they are yours (not linked to PS+) with a new game made free each week over the next six weeks. Great little promo. Is this confirmed for US as well, so far only announced on Euro PS Blog.

Thank you. I thought it was permanently free so I wasn't going to bother to "buy" it right away. But I will make sure to now.

Are the PS mobile games only available through Vita and select Android devices, or can you get them through PSN via PS3 or Media Go? I'm not near my PS3 right now and can't check.

Thanks for the recommendations, everyone! I will end up starting with the first one...and I'll wear headphones!

Good luck. Seriously, immerse yourself in it. Wear the headphones while playing it in the dark. I watch many horror movies for laughs but there were a couple times playing this game where I had do a double take while playing this looking around my room. I give the developers real kudos for utilizing something as simple as sound on a handheld in such a genius way. Makes me a bit sad other developers can't be as innovative with the basic tools out there instead of having to come up with gimmicky shit for motion control, etc.

Anyone else use Wake Up Club today? Strange little app. Don't know how useful it'll be to me since I tend to blindly (and violently) shut off my alarms. The social component of it is brilliantly implemented. Felt surreal knowing others were waking up with me, at that very moment, somewhere else in the world.

Also tried the Stardrone demo. Definitely not my cup of tea. Its controls irritated the hell out of me. I definitely recommend trying the demo before buying, even if it is only $2.

I set up the Wake Up Club alarm to go off this morning, but I swear it never did. Sure enough, I've now overslept one time according to it.

Woke my @ss up 1st place too ;p

I tried it & it seemed to have worked for me. Got 3 trophies from waking up, one of which was the gold one. Think I'll start using that instead of my regular alarm clock.
I set up the Wake Up Club alarm to go off this morning, but I swear it never did. Sure enough, I've now overslept one time according to it.
You need to have the app open on the clock screen when you put the Vita to sleep before going to bed, my guess is you had something else running, or had it open in the alarm screen or something.

I just cant get myself to finish this game. It's totally creepy. If you want the whole experience, you *must* wear the headphones, especially during the "Game Over" moments. I'm not a horror buff, but I can stand most any movie. This however, touched me in "real bad place" and I had to put it down. At some point, I'm gonna have to sack up and finish it, but It sure aint no pleasure cruise.

Sometimes I just hear the name Seiko being cried out in the back of my brain and shudder.

Sort of spoilers but not really:

The end of chapter four gives new meaning to the phrase "gut wrenching." It feels like the sounds are inside your brain.

Pitch dark with headphones is the way to go. If you have pets you might want to lock them out of the room as well. My cat jumped up on my lap while I was playing last night and I almost threw her.

I know. I made sure of that before I went to sleep. I may have just slept through it.

Thanks for the link! I was able to install on a rooted Samsung Fascinate running custom Gingerbread. Once I started the side loaded PSM app it required an update but when that finished I was able to sign in with my PSN account and find the free game. The only option I see is Download though (no add to cart button) so if I want the game added to my account so I can play on my Vita do I just let the download start and then cancel it before it finishes?

If there's room for it in the title, I do. I've got room for two more characters at the moment, so it's not in the cards this week.

Vita and Android devices. They're not available to purchase on a PS3 or PSP (Media Go).

For those looking down the PSN pipeline a little bit (or for any sales that crop up before the March 19 release), Dead or Alive 5 Plus will support both Cross Play and Cross Buy DLC.

hey guys there is an error rayman origins for vita is 26.99 while the ps3 version is 19.99 so the OP should be updated. Though its wierd it is listed on the vita for the psn store though right under it says "PS3 Game" NOT vita..
So Derrick the Deathfin deserves billing over Darksiders? I guess there is room for a new thread for new free plus games if they're not prominently displayed in this thread.
really?! all the info is in the OP. read more then just the title
really?! all the info is in the OP. read more then just the title
To be honest, I wouldn't mind a seperate thread dedicated for PS+ deals and IGC updates. This way Frisky should have enough title space and regular PSN members don't have to read through the PS+ stuff.
How's that for a Darksiders spotlight thread title?
I don't like it. At least list every freebie.

Edit: Since this is the deals thread, the old one was better.

I didn't think the PS Mobile games would even be worth downloading. Turns out I was wrong, because Samurai Beatdoen is pretty good. I don't understand what PS Mobile is, but ok.

@frisky, you have one of the driest senses of humor I've come across. It's hard to read.

Really? All this over the title of the thread?
