Pretty lame. I like P2 just fine and think it's an overlooked classic, but they know darn well this should be at the $5.99 price point and not the premium $10 point like FFVII, Resident Evil, etc. If this game was so great it wouldn't have taken 7 years to see another one :)
It's pretty good but has a really bad localization(iffy translation, cut content). Really shouldn't be $10 for a shoddy rerelease. Still much better than prices for the physical version on ebay/amazon/etc though.
Would have liked book of memories to go on sale, i was under the impression that game didn't do all that well but the price is still too high. Also the mgs hd collection would have been cool.

A lot of those games on sale for the anniversary, vita owners who have had the system since the start probably own them, just because there weren't many offerings. But i guess they gotta save some stuff for later on.
i got mgs hd collection a while back when it was on sale for 17something, funny thing is i bought hot shots golf that same week for 6 or 7 bucks, now its only sale for more than twice that as an "anniversary" sale. but i agree with you, silent hill is suppose to be so bad, but you cant find it anywhere for under 30 bucks

That's Silent Hill fans mostly who say that though. Usually I hear it's competent action-RPG if not all that great. I'm waiting for it to drop to 20 because I enjoy a dungeon crawler now and then.

I liked the demo a lot. But then again, I'm not really a Silent Hill fan, so take that into account.

I think people just lose perspective. The IGC for Vita only started in November. In those 4 months, we've gotten:

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions - PSP/Vita - 11/20/12
Gravity Rush - Vita - 11/20/12
Jet Set Radio - Vita - 11/20/12
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack - Vita - 11/20/12
Uncharted: Golden Abyss - Vita - 11/20/12
Wipeout 2048 - Vita - 11/20/12
Chronovolt - Vita - 12/31/12
Retro City Rampage - PS3/Vita - 12/24/12
Foosball 2012 - PSN/Vita - 1/22/13
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus - Vita - 1/29/13
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X - PSP - 2/19/13
Plants Vs Zombies - Vita- 2/26/13

That's only 4 months of games, which is 1/3 of a year. Assuming you paid full price and only got a year (no bonus), you paid only $16.60 for all these games. I'd have paid that for JUST Uncharted. And we've still got 8 months of games on that initial $50 expenditure, all of which I consider 'gravy' since for me it's already paid for itself.

I'd certainly have paid that for just 'Vita ps+'... but in actuality, we also get PSN games, PS1 classics and even full PS3 games in addition to the vita games mentioned here. Plus cloud saving, auto-patching, discounts, etc.

I seriously think anyone complaining about the US releases is just not thinking it through, and concentrating only on a single week's release and how it affects them.
This is my problem with most of these choices... I'm sick of heavily discounted games or free games that we're getting again. Don't get me wrong. I prefer heavily discounted games that were fantastic to crappy games almost noone wanted anyway. PvZ is an almost 4 year old PC port... This isn't something we should be clambering for more of.
I'm not in love with the choice of PvZ either. But I don't mind it. There's a long list of games I'd prefer, but even if we got, say, Sine Mora there'd be people complaining about it. At least PvZ is a quality title, even if many of us have played it already. I'd rather that then crappy games.

My guess is that they're trying to ride the positive press and sales of P4G so are positioning Persona as a mainstay title now. I don't disagree with you though -- 5.99 or 4.99 would have been a sale for me.
Don't even talk about the shitty iPhone/iPod Touch/Android versions that offer a fraction of the content of the console/PC versions. Any comparison to those versions doesn't count because of the huge difference in quality.

Where is it free to play for the browser version? The only ones I've seen are demos that require $10-$15 for the full game, so that doesn't really count against it.

The Vita version is only a year old, it's better than the PS3 version with a Platinum trophy, and is still a great game that people should play. The only good versions of the game are on console and PC, so the only issues I see are from the PS3 version being offered for free and if you got the PC version for cheap/free. Though I've played through the game on five platforms now for a total of at least 15-20 times, which is still a ton of fun each time.
Can you compare the vita version to the iPhone version? I'm in the middle of the iPhone campaign but I'm wondering if its better to start over on the vita?

Plus complainers also suffer from "What have you done for me lately?" syndrome. It doesn't matter if last week was awesome. If this week sucks in comparison, then they'll whine that Plus isn't worth it. Like someone said before, the $50 isn't compared to the year's worth of content, it's compared to each week's content.
Can you compare the vita version to the iPhone version? I'm in the middle of the iPhone campaign but I'm wondering if its better to start over on the vita?
The campaign is the same and you get the zen garden mode, but they pretty much gimp every other mode in the game.

In the Vita version, you get nine Vasebreaker levels plus an endless level, nine I, Zombie levels an plus an endless level, 11 Last Stand levels with a few of them being endless versions, and there are 20 minigames.

You get one Vasebreaker level, one I, Zombie level, one Last Stand level, and one of the minigames for free in the iPhone/iPod Touch version. The rest are all locked up as in-app purchases that you can either grind a shit ton of coins (650k coins to unlock them all) for free or you can buy enough coins for that for about $7 or so, which makes it a $10 game. The grinding is ridiculous because you're going to earn maybe 250 to 2k coins per level with it more than likely leaning towards the smaller amount, which means that you'd have to play through about 2600 campaign levels to unlock everything. I can't even bring up the IAP thing right now, so my only option going forward with that version is to grind like hell and maybe have all of the content in a few years. The great thing is that the only things I had at launch was the campaign and the quick play mode, which let you sort of randomly generate a level to play.

So for the normal cost of the game, you get 51 of the minigame/puzzle/survival levels in the Vita version and just four with the iPhone/iPod Touch version, which may have the option to pay cash for enough coins to unlock the rest if you don't want to wait years to earn it for free. The endless versions of the puzzle/survival levels are a big part of the appeal for me since it challenges you to master the mechanics of the game and those puzzle modes, so it's a big deal that I have to grind like hell to get them for the "cheaper" game that people try to put up on a pedestal as a means to shit on the PC/console versions that cost more but make it easier to get to all of the content.

Outside of the modes, the Vita version has touch/button controls, the newer HD graphics of the console versions, and a Platinum trophy to top it off.

I for one, have never played PVZ, and now that I have a Vita (and hopefully my 32 gig card in a few days), I'll happily finally play PVZ.

I'll probably go a head and pick up Escape Plan, and Superstar Dust Delta from the sale.

I'm interested in Retro Grade, but it seems like it might be frustrating/hard for someone with no rhythm.

I'll now own PvZ on 4 different platforms, lol, but it's definitely a game with endless replay value so I'm ok with it. The Stardust sale also quelled any disappointment I may have had. Also, I read that they're likely going back to the monthly update, so thank god for that. The weekly thing just isn't a good look.

Well, they do the rhythm stuff in the guise of a shmup, so that may be a better fit for you to get a grasp of what it wants you to do.

There is a demo so you can try it out for yourself.

Hmmm...not sure what I'll get out of the Vita sale, but maybe a few things. I guess it'll also depend on what gets voted to go on sale, too.
$17.63 for Hot Shots, hasn't the physical copy gone cheaper before? I think I'm in for Sound Shapes and Super Stardust though.
Sure has...I snagged HSG for $10 at Best Buy awhile back. Great game. Between that, $10 Mortal Kombat, $20 FIFA 13 and the instant game collection, my Vita spending has been really low.

Well, until I bought Disgaea 1, 2, and Infinite and every Vita-compatible Final Fantasy game in the recent sale, anyway.

man I wish that vita anniversary sale had been sooner. I really wanted MLB 12 The Show for my Vita but with the 13 edition coming out very soon it just seems silly to buy last years, even if it's only like $9.

YES! Super Stardust Delta! Man, I have spent so much time on Super Stardust HD on the PS3. I was hoping this one would go on sale.

I wonder which game won the Gamers' Choice Awards, then. Well, I guess it doesn't matter since the other two were already given away with PS+. :)

Shoot, it's been cheaper on PSN fairly recently; I bought it for $8.74 just after Christmas.

PS all stars for $18 with ps+? When games go 66% off within 4 months it's no wonder the industry is tanking. Nobody's going to pay full price for a game if they can just wait a little bit and get it for that cheap

To be fair, the overall opinion of the game was VERY mixed. Also plenty of people were disappointed by the games final roster, which resulted in less sales. Finally and most importantly, Sony failed in terms of marketing. Like the US ad for All-Stars featured NO gameplay, which resulted in a lot of people being confused by what the commercial was trying to market. Long story short, All-Stars was basically set up to fail.

I'm glad that Plant vs. Zombies is going to be free on the Vita for PS+. I missed out on the PS+ freebie offer on the PS3 version.

I got the PC version that I have loaded onto a laptop that I got for free from here. So I really don't feel inclined to pay $20-$30 for the game.

Might get Super Stardust Delta just so I'll have it when I do eventually get a Vita. I have the PSP version and haven't really touched it, along with Every Day Shooter.

I'm a little surprised that Every Day Shooter hasn't gotten an updated version.
Not quite a rumor, its practically been confirmed it wont play PSN games right out the box. From the interview I read Sony is exploring a cloud based option that may be viable down the road.

But I understand the frustration that some people may have with all of the backwards compatibility. I know that people would like to trade in their 3s for 4s, but you may just want to hold on to your 3 if you can.
Yeah no plans on getting rid of my dear PS3, though it would be nice if the PSN content could be played on the PS4 too. I actually rarely plays from past generations, especially with the backlog and now PS+. Looking forward to some PvZ

i'd say few games have dropped that fast in price, much older games have a higher price

another sony exclusive that sony didn't properly market and had no chance to succeed

how is the game anyways? worth 18 bucks?

Yeah, Morgan again mentioned that they may try to go back to the monthly outlooks for March, so we may be seeing info about this real soon.

I'm not at all optimistic that moving to monthly updates will solve any of the "problems", but I guess we'll see. I guess it might cut down on the bitching every week, but I personally doubt that.

Just wished they had separate ps+ memberships for vita and ps3. or you could buy one that combines the two. I just feel like we get more free vita stuff than ps3 stuff, and all the ps3 stuff is old games most people have played already, or really obscure titles that nobody wants. I'm overall satisfied with what i've gotten through ps+ in deals and whatnot, just wished it was geared more towards ps3 than vita.

No one has received less games on PS3 because PS Vita games are included in Plus now. If PS Vita was not in the IGC, there simply would have been no game in the Instant Game Collection this week, plain and simple.
Looking at the PSN choice awards, I have no faith that the psn community will actually be smart enough to not vote journey to win 3 diff goddamn categories instead of trying to maximize the potential deals.
It would be nice if something like Journey won the categories, but because it had already won in a different category, the runner up will get the benefited discount! In the end I just want Legend of Dragoon >_> Even though I already have the physical version.

By that logic, we can say that if Vita didn't exist at all, Sony could have invested the resources they had into making PS3 even more of a kick-ass system. That's neither here nor there.

I should know this, but if I buy Knytt Underground through my Vita, it will give me access to both the PS3 and Vita versions right? Or do I have to buy it through my PS3 to make sure I get both versions?

Just check the information on the game. It should mention the cross buy on each platform. I don't see why there would be a problem buying on the Vita. I bought Hustle Kings through the Vita store. I had the PS3 version already listed in DL history when I checked after purchase.

To be fair, the second part of his comment was that most of the PS3 games are older games. That part is true.

But to be honest, I haven't played many of the free PS3 games. I'm mostly into Plus for the discounts, which pay for the subscription on their own if you really take advantage of them.

Correct. Buying either version gives you both.

I prefer the monthly update, it gives you the early glimpse you need to avoid buying any free or future discounted games.
And about the bitches at the PS blog... "haters gonna hate".

But that is how it's always been, the Vita addition to Plus has no effect on this.
What? More details needed?
Sorry, typed too fast and didn't bother to check. I wish there was a newer version of Every Day Shooter.
From what I've been told, nope. Source: Gundam: Battle Operation forums, where the people who buy the DLC play the game exclusively on their Japanese accounts.
Well that sucks. Do you think it could vary on a game-to-game basis?
i'd say few games have dropped that fast in price, much older games have a higher price
I disagree. The sale represents what...a $21 drop? And that's only if you have PS+.

Almost every new $60 game can be found for $40 (or less) at least once within four months of release. It's why I barely ever buy games on day one anymore- maybe a couple per year, tops, and even then I take advantage of something like the Best Buy $20 certificate/pre-order deal.
Thanks guys. Just bought it and looks like it added both the PS3 and Vita versions right to my download list. :)
All you'd have to do in the future is add one to your cart and then try to add the other, as it'll block you on the second try if it's Cross Buy.

as a member since inception, we used to not get -anything- many weeks. that's just how it was. now, those weeks get filled in by Vita. I haven't noticed a PSN/PS3 dropoff. Slightly less PS1 games and minis, but i think they weren't what people wanted based on their surveys.
PS all stars for $18 with ps+? When games go 66% off within 4 months it's no wonder the industry is tanking. Nobody's going to pay full price for a game if they can just wait a little bit and get it for that cheap
Too high. It should be 10 by now.

Game is worth what they are asking. Yea its not the best but it is well made and worth $20.

I think I am going to grab a few vita games tomorrow. Thinking Smart As and Little Deviants. I need another memory card. If I were to get another memory card would it work to keep different games on each and all I do is switch the memory cards out for the different sets of games?

I highly recommend trying the demo for Little Deviants. I instantly knew it wasn't for me.

As long as your games are on the same account, yes, that should work though I haven't done it yet. If they're on different accounts you need to jump through a couple more hoops

you have to restart the Vita anytime you swap memory cards

it's really dumb...

also, if it matters to you, whenever you switch memory cards your bubbles will all be reset. not a big deal, but i have mine organized and it was a pain to constantly put them back where they were when i changed cards.
