So is Wild Arms Free forever now once you've purchased it for free?

If so that is quite awesome
I just installed it on my PS3 as well since I'd rather play it with a controller that has 4 shoulder buttons and the info says no expiration. So signs point to yes.

I got all the free games via my PSP. I'm most interested in getting to play wild arms and might even start it tonight. Not a big patapon fan and I have no clue what the other games are. I will have to demo those.

I actually like playing PS1 classics on PSP. Haven't played many to know which games have clunky controls but I'd imagine rpgs play decent on PSP. It also beats playing it on my PS3 on a huge HDTV and I'm to lazy too switch my TV back and forth to my CRT TV for retro gaming.
I don't know why but my Vita has very slow download speeds, which isn't a problem since I can just re-download through the PS3 and transfer, but is this common with anyone else?
It's the exact opposite for me. My vita has great download speeds yet my PS3 has connection issues. Almost anything bigger than 500 MBs it will give me an error message and start saying my connection is bad (even though my 360/Wii U/PC/Vita) have never had issues at all. The download speeds are also pretty bad.

I just bought PS All-Stars today and I'm donwloading hte update and it says I have 600 minutes left and it's at 5%. =/ I know today is especially worse because of the store update but still... I've owned my Xbox for much longer and I never experienced anything this bad.

I hear you.

A lot of PS1 games that people say have aged badly. Look absolutely Fabulous on the PSP.

I don't know if I'll ever play those PS1/PSP games, but I downloaded them anyway.

FYI, Disgaea 3 has a file size of 2.04 GB according to this site:

http://www.ign.com/wikis/ps-vita/Vita_Games_Sizes

I have 1.95 GB free on my 8GB card #-o. But I can probably free up enough room if I delete all that stuff I just downloaded. Or if I get rid of all the LBP Vita stuff (patches, game saves, DLC) since I've probably played as much of that as I want to at this point (and can back up my save via PS+ if I want to come back to it).

Probably not, don't you need 150% or 200% of the space to download and install it or is that just PS3?

Looks like I better try the Orgarhythm demo before I commit.

Free downloaed games that you'll never play is better then paid for physical backlog that's so big time won't let you play it.

Also if you don't plan on playing the games why do you leave them on the memory card? They don't expire. Why not download them when you're actually about to play the game and leave it qued on your download list till then.

If you have a decent internet connection you almost don't even need to upgrade your memory card. You can just redownload every time depending on speed.

Wild Arms is one of my favorite RPGs on the PS1.

That's saying a lot considering there are quite a few quality RPGs on the PS1 to choose from.

While the combat engine/graphics hasn't dated very well, the characters, music and excellent dungeon/puzzle design more than enough makes up for it short comings.

Definitely recommend everyone download it on their Vita and give it a go.

the download list becomes unmanageable once you have enough games on it. plus, it's like the graveyard... i don't remember games on my download list, i want them on the machine. heck, i'd even be okay if they let me optionally put icons for non-downloaded games that i own on my vita...

you're right, i don't need the file. but i do need the icon.

Did anyone else get error messages when downloading the free vita anniversary games from your vita? Wild Arms was fine, will try to re-download the others.
(Didn't run out of space on my card. Still stays I have 14GB left)

Does Wild Arms play well on PSP? I can't remember if it uses R2 and L2.

Where is Disgaea 3? Am I the only one who is most excited about this being free? It still shows as $39.99 in the VITA store. It's listed as one of the free PS+ games this week on the blog. What gives?

EDIT: Just looked more closely at the blog and I guess they are going back to a monthly format? Except they just announce the whole month at once and then don't tell you which week specific games are dropping? That's an odd choice.

Would you guys recommend SFxT if I'm lookin' for a SF game on the go for Vita? Been waitin' awhile for it to hit $20. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the gameplay, so I'm kinda hesitant.

Was never really interested in gettin' it for PS3.

If you want a SF on the go then yes for sure.
If you want a SF on the go then yes for sure.
If you want a CAPCOM fighter on the go, I like UMvC3 a little better, but SF x Tekken is okay. The button layout is just a pain. They try to do some slick stuff with front screen touch, but it's just hard to play a 6 button fighter on the thing.

BlazBlue and Mortal Kombat play much better on the VITA IMO.
Frobisher Says! NA trophy update is live.
FINALLY. Took some time, but glad to see the update is out. Even lets you filter out minigames by type (tilting, touchscreen, camera, etc.) or skip that annoying "Find something that's this color!" one which sucked because either it wasn't the correct shade or it was too dark.

Though I wish they made it so you could choose individual mini-games to play like with WarioWare.

If you practice using the touch screen for a while it actually gets better - for example I'll use front+top+right touch screen for 3P and back+right for LK / back+left for LP and I've gotten pretty quick with it. I also prefer UMvC3, but SFxT becomes much more playable if you accept the touchscreens as buttons.

They really need to work on the download list and have some management options for it. I purchased the Motorstorm RC Complete edition and now how an extra 80 or so items (not sure of the exact amount) in the download list just from that game. With all the PS Plus stuff it is becoming a real pain to look through the list. I know it sounds petty, but they do need to improve it with sorting/grouping.
Frobisher Says! NA trophy update is live.
Thanks. I haven't bothered playing the game since I knew a trophy patch was coming eventually. I can finally redownload it and check it out now.

I definitely would. Like I said, I didn't spend a lot of time with it. I failed the catapult tutorial about 20 times and then just shut it off. My biggest frustration seemed like you don't really get to see what your troops do, because you're too busy still trying to match the beat. Regardless, for $10 it's a no-go for me. If it ever drops to $5 or so I may force myself to learn what's going on.

Yeah, its weird that they don't tell us when we're getting them. I'd say we'll get The Cave next week, then Disgaea the week after that, and Tekken 6 PSP the last week of the month. We'll get Joe Danger either with Disgaea or Tekken 6 would be my best guess.

I got that error but confirmed it was in my download so I'm good.
I've had that happen before and I was able to successfully download whatever it was later.

This is what I was telling my friend.

This is why I have a 2nd account for. I first made the account for trophy purposes but now I use it a lot for demos.

My download list que is under 200 so it's still manageable and I plan to keep it that way. Some people have a few thousand items in their download list which is too much to manage.

Thanks for the replies about SFxT and UMvC3 ppl.

I think I'm gonna go with SFxT (already have UMvC3 for PS3). I don't mind usin' the shoulder buttons. I did it a lot with SF games on the PSP.

people used to absolutely freak out on PS+ off weeks (which we no longer have because they filled them in with Vita games). If they frontloaded all the releases to the first week, that would be 3 weeks of complaints.

Right now they're trying to appease the most people -- announce everything at the beginning, then drop them on us week by week.

Hopefully they also do the 'clues' every month. That was a nice touch.

PS4 better just OUTRIGHT COPY Steam's Library function.

EVERY DDL service should model this part after steam.

Managing what YOU OWN should not be this god damn counter intuitive and downright STUPID.

Seriously.
These free games are making it harder to wait for E3 on the 32GB card.
I'm actually probably going to have to get another card in the future whether it be 16 or 32gb (have a 32 now) just so I can have my vita games on one and psn, ps1, and psp games on the other lol. Only if there is a significant price drop of course.
These free games are making it harder to wait for E3 on the 32GB card.
Hell, I already have a 32GB and I only have a couple of gigs left on it. So many games!

I agree, except that I wish on Steam you could choose to have it show installed games only by default. I hate getting a bunch of greyed out uninstalled stuff in my list whenever I open my library. I know it's a nitpick and only takes a couple of clicks to change from "All Games" to "Installed", but still. :)

Agreed. Amazon and Best Buy have them for $75 at the moment, and with credit and trying to sell my 4GBs for a few bucks, it would be closer to $40 for me out of pocket. It's extremely tempting.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but you can grab Wild Arms for your PS3 with Media Go on your pc if you don't own a vita or psp.

I was about to say there's also the Street Fighter Alpha games(I think they're all Vita compatible but don't take my word on it, not 100% sure) which I thought of after posting, but you probably played those already.
I agree, except that I wish on Steam you could choose to have it show installed games only by default. I hate getting a bunch of greyed out uninstalled stuff in my list whenever I open my library. I know it's a nitpick and only takes a couple of clicks to change from "All Games" to "Installed", but still. :)
I'm not sure if this makes it "default," but whenever I full exit Steam only showing Installed Games, that's what it shows when I restart the application.
When does the store update again?
It updated yesterday night. PSN updates on Tuesday night at random times.

Was it said that there's a limit on the get $10 for every $50 spent? Between the sales, reupping Plus, and a couple new(Dynasty Warriors, Atelier Ayesha, was kinda surprised Ayesha turned out to be 15GB was guessing it would be 4-7 by previous games) games I'm over $200 already.
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but you can grab Wild Arms for your PS3 with Media Go on your pc if you don't own a vita or psp.
Okay sorry to ask this but I just bought a PS3 after not owning a console for eons so I am a total noob. How does one do this?
PS4 better just OUTRIGHT COPY Steam's Library function.

EVERY DDL service should model this part after steam.

Managing what YOU OWN should not be this god damn counter intuitive and downright STUPID.

Seriously.
Okay, I thought it was just me and my not being used to the current generation of consoles at all but I found PSN to be really counter intuitive and hard to find things in.

Steam on the other hand I have 1,000+ games and I have never had any issues with using it and locating things since day 1 when I started with it a couple of years ago.

So I am new to the whole PS3/PSP thing as I just bought my PS3 this past holiday season and have a question. I bought a used PSP Go from the Gamestop deal a few weeks back, and I have a Playstation Plus account. The used PSP Go I bought has several games on it. I was wondering if there was anyway for me to link it with my account to get the free games this week on my PSP go without losing the games already on there? Or is it not possible to do that.

The 2 games that came with my used PSP Go are Ratchet and Clank, and SOCOM.

Not possible. If you bought the PSP go used then someone probably never took their account off. You just have access to their games most likely because of that.

Thanks for the link! I will try it out and see if I can figure it out as well.

I'd imagine you download Wild Arms to the PC via that program and then I guess find some way (USB thumb drive?) to transfer it to the PS3.

I hope I can get it to work because Wild Arms is really the only free game right now that I am interested in and I don't have a Vita.

iTunes? Currently downloading but confused as to how it works. Couldn't grab it on the Sony Store.

Figured it out, and Wild Arms is now downloading on my PS3. :)

1. Download and install Media Go: http://mediago.sony.com/enu/features

2. Sign in with your PSN account on Media Go.

3. Click "Store" on the top-left.

4. Search for each of the free games, go to their pages, and click Download on each.

5. They will now be in the download list on your PS3, and you are free to cancel the downloads that Media Go has going. :)

Thanks to Jut for the heads-up about Media Go!
