Capcom Puzzle World

any good
i'm curious as well. i'm down for puzzle fighter but i don't know anything about the other games. i have ~$7 in my wallet so i'm trying to decide between puzzle world and maverick hunter.

Saw Monster Hunter Freedom Unite was listed as $5 on here, but when I check the store for both PS3 and PSP, it's still at $9.99. Thought it would have been a nice price to jump into, considering I know nothing about the series except that it eats a lot of people's hours.

And also, how's Shank?

I'd say maverick hunter. if puzzle world is anything like its umd counterpart, it is glitchy as hell.

OK. So I just checked the PS3 extended warranty I bought for $45 from PS+ the other day and it says it started ON that day. I thought it usually waited until the end of the normal one year warranty, which for this console would be Feb 2012.

Or do they go by date of manufacture and not date of purchase for the extended thing?
The only way I could see that happening is if you accidentally downloaded the Full Game Trial from the PS+ section instead of the full game from the Welcome Back section of the store. I just started up both LBP and Infamous and there were no issues for me. Trying pressing triangle on Infamous and seeing if an expiration date, or anything like that, appears under Information.
No expiration date, and i hadn't activated my free PS+ when i got it via the welcome back program so I know i didn't get the full game trial.

I've played it more than 1 full hour at a time (It used to work perfectly on my old PS3 with me using the save file from my disk version that I no longer have...) but on the new PS3 it tells me to renew it... Stupid digital downloads... I guess i'll have to contact Sony if noone knows anything about this. Thanks for trying to help though.

thanks for letting me know. kinda bummed because i'd love to have a more convenient way to play puzzle fighter, but what can you do. picked up maverick hunter.

Looks like I'll need a bigger PSN card than I thought to get the other sale items.

Played Shank. Definitely do want. I guess it helps I didn't read much press about it, but this is nice a throwback to old school side-scrolling beat 'em ups with some modern flare added.

Before playing the new Pac Man, I really had doubts about the game being anything good, but it's definitely a fresh take on Pac Man. At $5, I think it's easier to call it a buy.

Hard Corps is certainly Contra just very Japanese-ified. It's all anime sprites instead of your rambo-style character. But it's certainly Contra gameplay-wise. Didn't find the demo listed amongst the other games on sale, so I'd suggest downloading the Xbox demo if you can (unless the PS3 version is hidden away somewhere in the store).

So I'll need to pick up Extraction, PacMan, PJ Shooter 2, Shank, Scott Pilgrim, and maybe Hard Corps. I was thinking about buying only a $20 card, but I just might need a little more now. I'm just a little worried that I'm boxing myself in with two or three beat 'em style games  Guess I better check out Swarm and About a Blob with the other demos being surprisingly good.

Hopefully I can convince my friends to get some of these games. All of my PS3 owning friends seem to only bitch about today's games, so hopefully these throwbacks to old skool games would at least convince them to play the demos. It's a little tough to eat the "sale" price though. The PS+ prices really make these easier buys quite frankly.

The only thing that could make this deal sweeter would be if they refunded you some points for buying a certain number of games.

Anywho, this sale is more awesome than I first thought. You should really try the demos if you haven't already and see for yourself.

Tried out the Shank demo, and I really enjoyed it. I began reading on it and hear it is only 3 hours? That sucks. I was hoping at least 5. At $5 it may be worth it. But after I beat it i'm not sure how much I'd really play it. I am still waiting for FF6 to make it to the US store. I may still hold out for that.

I'm loving Hard Corps: Uprising, but I'm having freezing problems. From what I've read they're somewhat common and happen after the game over or retry screens when playing online. Not sure what causes them.. I suppose it could be connection issues. Also, the DLC characters are definitely worth downloading for $1 each.

Last night I logged on psn expecting that my playstation plus time was still extended only to see the ps+ sign gone from beside my avatar. Sure enough I went in to the store and was going to purchase all the games on sale I didn't have and found my ps+ was over. It was still showing up beside my avatar just a couple of days ago so I though I had another month? I also saw on g4 that they had extended it so now I'm confused and dissappointed because I was planning on getting several games. Looks like now I will have to choose what game to get with my $15 wallet amount. Thinking of the back to the future episodes but seeing the preview has me wondering what the gameplay is actually like. hard corps and pixel junk shooter 2 along with chime looks appealing as well.

The gameplay for BttF is your basic point and click adventure

I bought Hard Corps Uprising, and Pixeljunk Shooter 2.

My friend bought Pacman Champtionship Edition DX, and Swarm (we are gameshared with eachother).

I am trying to convince another friend to purchase Shank (can anyone give me impressions of this game???), and Back to the Future.

Awesome sale!

I bought whatever I didn't buy prior to the sale...except for Risk Factions

Anyways, thanks for the Scott Pilgrim "cheat". Works pretty damn well. Now I can level up the rest of the characters.

Demo is there. To get the game, they make you dl the demo first and than download the license key.

Hard Corps [BIS Contra. The game was done by Konami and they had every intention to make it Contra. IF you need more proof, they make a ton of references in-game to the series like the remix stage 1 music only attainable by the konami code and the names of some upgrades in the game.

Its really fun and worth the 7 bucks if you plus..and even worth the 10 if you download all 3 dlc characters.

I do still miss Bill and Lance though!

edit: oops should've meant worth it if on ps+

Chime is amazing. I guess I posted that in the other thread. Never heard of it, got the demo on a whim, and it's honestly the best puzzle game I've played since Puzzle Quest.

Tried Swarm and BttF, neither were to my fancy.

Downloaded Shank and Blob, but haven't down around to trying them (the latter failed to download, and I left Shank downloading when I went to sleep).

Thanks EVERBODY for the recommendations on Chime I might have to pick up another PSN card now. I love puzzle games so this looked very tempting.

Also like Brother Daz said if proceeds still go to charity then its a win win for everybody!
Anyone know what's coming on 7/19? (other than Borderlands) I was thinking about maybe PixelJunk Shooter 2, but I kinda want to see what is coming next week.
Deals or normal releases? Deals are in the Upcoming Deals section of the OP and normal releases can be found here.
Section 8: prejudice is coming July 26th to PSN. First week PS+ buyers will also get the Blitz Armor Pack and Overdrive Map Pack for free. For the quick buyers, the first 1,000 PlayStation Plus users to download the title will receive in-game Hunter Armor, as well as a free download of the original Section 8

The two packs are for anybody that buys it the first week, not just PS+ people.

Tried the BttF demo and the voice actor they got to play Marty seems to do a spot on impression on the original lines from the movies but the new lines don't quite sound right to me. I'm still thinking it's a pretty damn solid buy for $10. I'll decide by tomorrow I think.

Also I had asked this once before but I think the question might have gotten buried so I'll repeat the question. If I buy the Burnout Paradise bundle which addons do I need to complete it? It looks like it just comes with the Bikes and Boost Specials DLC?

Downloaded the demos for Shank, Scott Pilgrim, Stacking, Risk Factions, and Chime.

Loved Shank, Stacking is weird enough to want to own, haven't tried the others.

I realize the other packs are just cars/multiplayer modes but they also have trophies that go with them. Makes it worth picking up what isn't included so I can go for the 100% if I decide to (though I doubt it).

Burn Zombie Burn is back to the regular price on Amazon, as is Rag Doll Kung Fu. Gauntlet II, Rampage, and Rampart are not available to buy on Amazon anymore, although they are still listed.

Every DLC packs has some trophies connected to it, including the free packs, but you don't need the DLC packs to get platinum. Some of the DLC packs (particularly the party pack) are only worth picking up if you REALLY love trophies.

I realize the platinum only requires the initial game to earn of course. But let's say I wanted to get 100% of all the trophies. Which packs are needed? :D

I should hope not. I bought a Rampage code yesterday and it was invalid. Amazon said they can't do anything and to call Sony support. Now if I could be bothered to pick up the phone and call Sony about it...

You need every piece of DLC to get 100%.

I really don't get the praise for Horde. It seemed mediocre to me. What am I missing from seeing the high review scores vs the actual gameplay?

Sorry the original question was which DLC do I need to buy in addition to the Bundle that's $7.99? It looks like it includes a couple of the DLCs already, bikes for example I know are already included so I don't need to buy that one. I believe the description says the Boost specials are also included so I'm guessing I would need the Toy, Legendary, Party, and Cops and Robbers to get everything. I wouldn't keep inquiring but the description seems just a little vague to me.

You'd need all the DLC except the Boost and the "unlock all cars" DLC. Some of the trophies will require some cooperation from others such as the "gather 8 players in the stadium" (or something to that effect). The Party mode and Cops and Robbers trophies might prove to be sort of a pain in the ass, mainly because you'll have to track down others that also have that DLC and still want to boost the trophies at this point.
