Opinions on natural doctrine, grand kingdom and deception IV? I'm definitely picking up digaea 5.
They are all worthwhile. I've been a fan of the Disgaea series since the first release, which I put hundreds of hours into. Disgaea V is the best one since the first IMO.

Deception IV was solid, but it didn't hook me for too long. I could see someone else enjoying it for the long haul.

Natural Doctrine is obtuse at first, but if you like tactical challenges, it's a unique system that's fun to master IMO. Though some of the scenarios kind of need to be "solved". It doesn't always feel like there are multiple ways to solve every problem in the game.

I’ve always heard good things about Natural Doctrine despite the not so hot professional reciews. It’s been on sale dozens of times but not sure about this cheap.

Love to hear some thoughts myself.

Also, anyone play these? The bundle is only a $1 more than the individual games.

Yomawari: Night Alone / htoLNiQ: The Firefly Diary

If you're the kind of game fan who would value a unique tactical system over graphics, then you may like it a lot. It isn't like much else I've played. Many reviewers definitely missed the mark, and I don't often say that. I think Natural Doctrine was a casualty of the early PS4 library. Some reviewers tried some things they normally wouldn't and Natural Doctrine isn't going to appeal to most PS4 users.

I paid full price for it and don't regret the purchase. For $3.75, I think it's worth a shot!

For that price, I'll probably pick it up on Vita so I don't have to remote play it anymore :)

I don't own the game but grand kingdom has a really meaty demo if you want to try it out for yourself, I spent a good couple of hours with it. Enjoyed what I played, interesting take on a strategy RPG because of how the battles are presented. Certainly seems like a game with a slight learning curve though, they were constantly throwing out new weird mechanics in the demo.

I haven't played the demo, but it sounds like the beginning of the full game. They hit you with a lot up front and then it settles into a good groove. Probably a couple hours of learning curve, but if you like that kind of thing, Grand Kingdom is smart and good looking. I liked how the battles work too.

I have the physical double pack. Still haven't gotten around to htoLNIQ, but I finished Yomawari, and it was pretty cool, more so once it gets going and the area you can explore branches out more. Sort of a stealth/exploration-heavy horror game with a bit of an old-school vibe and overhead view. I liked it enough that I'm interested in the sequel.

Hmm.  So you guys are saying that week 2 of the Sale of the Dead is a horror sequel that's more of the same with a few tweaks to keep fans of the original happy?  Kudos to Sony for keeping it meta :D

Thanks for the reponses on Natural Doctrine and Yomawari: Night Alone / htoLNiQ: The Firefly Diary! Might pick up both.

For anyone considering Slayaway Camp, I’d recommend getting the mobile version. It’s only $1.99 vs. $13.59 on PS4 and as a slider/roller puzzle type game, I personally think that type of game is easier to play on a touch screen. It’s an awesome game though.

Might be some more puzzles on PS4 but worth $11 more? Doubtful.

Yeah I'd certainly pay the current price for it but I know realistically it will just end up in my backlog for a couple of years so I won't bother right now. Also yes, didn't mention the graphics really but it's a dang good looking game. Has a vanillaware thing going on.

Anyway, only thing I've seen on this weeks sale so far I am tempted on is the PS4 version of Diablo 3. I have around 1500 hours in the PC version but can't really play it anymore because my PC is on its deathbed so I've been thinking about getting the console version for a while. I just hate spending $36 for a game that is so old and I've played so much of already but Blizzard games don't typically tank in price as bad as other devs so bleh.

Wish Blizz just offered digital codes for console versions on their web store, could just throw WoW gold at it and laugh.

I'm thinking of jumping on Danganronpa 1-2 Reload. I haven't played the series before and I heard it was really good. I wanted to play at least one of the games on Vita but the sale prices never really grab me. I'm also interested in Disgaea 5. I heard it was the best of the series. I only played a bit of Disgaea 3 but I couldn't get into it. What are you guys thoughts on these games?

Danganronpa 1 and 2 are both awesome. I like the first game more but 2 is still pretty good, my main gripe is that it drags a little in the middle but the insane ending makes up for it.

Oh forgot, main thing to keep in mind is that the 2 games are incredibly silly. Don't go in expecting something serious or thoughtful or whatever. It knows exactly how insane it is and is very self-aware about it.

New PS4 owner..The Order 1886 is worth $3.99 these days, right? I know the reviews were so so on it but it looked cool when I first saw it last year or whenever..

Yes easily worth 3.99. It's a good game just not overly long. 3.99 is a hell of a value if you ask me.
Thx. Got in on the Amex/Amazon Destiny 2 Pro Bundle deal and wanted to add a few older games. Picked up Dark Souls 3 from Redbox and was going to get Uncharted 4 used for $9.99 at GS. This game (the Order) always intrigued me and though for the price it would make sense.

Natural Doctrine is one of my favorite vita games. It is not for everyone, and it requires understanding a system that isn't like any other SRPG... but once you 'get it', it allows for a very, very solid experience. Some of the systems are complex, and basic misunderstandings will cause a quick death [this plagued reviewers]... but once you understand how to use the system, it all makes sense and provides great depth and reward.

Grand Kingdom -- I loved the demo enough to pick it up for like $20, but haven't played it yet. But I look forward to it.

Deception IV is supposed to be quite good.

Return everything else... all you need is Dark Souls 3.. that game has drained countless hours of my life and the Pro support that put the FPS up made it all that much better.

Honestly, I paid 4.99 for it and hated it. Boring as hell. Just my opinion. Hard to go wrong for such a low price, but don't expect a diamond in the rough or anything.
I would say it’s worth $4. Easy plat. However, there is no way in hell this game won’t windup on ps plus at some point.

i think so.
Amazing graphics, tight gameplay, ok story.
The problem was the length of the campaign, & it was fairly easy to beat.
if it was a 20ish hr campaign I'm sure it would of got 8's/10 across the board.

agreed. My biggest issue is you can’t skip cut scenes & cut scenes were not very good.

I see that have a little taste of naughty bear on sale

I wish the gold edition would go on sale I've been waiting forever

I'll have to buy it next time I get ahold of a 20% code or there is a 15$/100 back deal

I see that have a little taste of naughty bear on sale

I wish the gold edition would go on sale I've been waiting forever

I'll have to buy it next time I get ahold of a 20% code or there is a 15$/100 back deal
The one on sale is the sequel. Worth checking out. A little buggy, but with a lot more gameplay and improved mechanics and variety.

Two weeks of Sale of the Dead and no sale on Costume Quest!!!!

We should all cancel our PS+ for this massive disrespect.

yeah the gold comes with it at a 20 dollar reg price tag 2 games and all the dlc

I still think it's worth waiting so I can get everything cheaper but I dunno I might look more into it

Return everything else... all you need is Dark Souls 3.. that game has drained countless hours of my life and the Pro support that put the FPS up made it all that much better.
I got Dark Souls 3 for five bucks from Redbox the other day even though I already have it on XBone due to the Japanese version being playable in English three weeks before the U.S. release date. I did finish the game then but man, I forgot how challenging it is. I usually play a sword and board character in Souls games so I thought I'd try a magic user for a change of pace....big mistake. I'm debating over continuing with this character and trying to build the proper stats or just throwing away the almost four hours I've put into him and starting over as a knight.

Interesting, I haven't really dug into DS3 yet (only played through a bit of the first area) but in other souls games I always found magic to be really strong cause you didn't have to worry about actually going in close to do damage and some of the higher end spells were comically OP.

Main thing I've noticed so far about DS3 is that the bow is still super cheesy and made me realize I enjoyed not having a proper long range weapon in Bloodborne. Enemy AI is so bad in these games any time a long range weapon comes into play, you can clear so many dangerous looking areas before even walking into them.

Picked up Blood Omen and Castlevania Lament of Innocence. Also considering Resident Evil 2 (or I could just wait for the remake) and 3, and maybe Silent Hill Book of Shadows and Natural Doctrine. Not sure if I should pick up Natural Doctrine on PS4 or get the Vita version. It also may end up being too hard for me, but at least it's cheap. Didn't know that Metal Slug Anthology was on PS4 now. Might unload my physical and get the digital version.

The thing that I don't like about magic (at least Soul Arrow) is that you still have to get fairly close to enemies to be able to lock on since you can't aim it like a bow. It does good damage but if I do take a hit in the paper armor a sorcerer starts with, I'm in trouble.

Yeah. I have the physical copy of Naughty Bear Double Trouble, but I don't think the double pack includes the DLC for the sequel, just FYI (although it's only a handful of costumes, anyway).

i think so.
Amazing graphics, tight gameplay, ok story.
The problem was the length of the campaign, & it was fairly easy to beat.
if it was a 20ish hr campaign I'm sure it would of got 8's/10 across the board.
This right here is 100% correct.

If the campaign was twice as long, or had multiplayer (co-op or pvp) it would have been one of the best rated games on PS4.

I rented it, took me 8 hours to plat it. Bought it used for $10 with no regrets, $4 digital is a steal.

Stupid question #1: did 1886 get a PS Pro update? (i doubt it..)

Stupid question #2: Cladun Returns, yay or nay?

Console version is great! Dodge mechanic is actually worthwhile and they have Seasons on there now.
