My stats page told me I saved 19.99 on purchases. I'm kinda curious where I saved that since I rarely buy anything for the ps4. That's such a common number that I wonder if it's from just 1 purchase.

So this upcoming weekly sale is all the War Thunder and Skyforge items you can want and little else?

Man, mere hours later, the end of the five-week holiday sale hit hard.  :whistle2:|

My stats page says I only saved $10.70, which I'm not sure is right.  I'm pretty sure I jumped on more sales than that.  It also said I played 51 different games - I'd love to see a list of what they thought I played, because that doesn't sound right either.  My most played game according to them was Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc at 49 hours.

In reading the small print, it does say they are only factoring in the difference between PS+ and non-PS+ prices when giving the total, because mine said $62.30 and it also seemed small. But then I realized the bulk of the savings aren't through PS+ and it made more sense.

You might have already known that but I figured I'd mention it just in case lol

Another year without Sony sending me ANY emails except for PS Store receipts. So weird, and so frustrating!
I'll give credit where credit's due- an hour an a half ago, I received my Year in Review email from Sony. I'm shocked!

Do I dare hope that this means they will start sending me the weekly update emails?

Yes, but the discount code they will send you will have expired the day prior.

Ha I mean I don’t disagree with you, but I’m all for trying it out especially to see what they’ve done with the property without Kojima at the helm.
I'll be real, I will probably still buy it. Although I know I am going to regret it instantly when I open it lol

is there a link to a 'stats' page?  as always no email for me.

I didn't even get my last store receipt, which I find worrisome because I always get those, and actually -want- those.

Does anyone know what happens if you buy a bundle that includes a game that you got free via PS+? Does that game stop being a PS+ free game and turn into a regularly purchased game?
Answering my own question for anyone who cares.

Decided to be a guinea pig and just try it, so I bought the Sound Shapes Ultimate Bundle, which includes the game and DLC. I had gotten the game free at some point back in 2015 via PS+. Before the purchase, the Information Screen on my PS4 gave a "Valid to" date (indicating it was a free PS+ title) and PSDLE also confirmed it.

After the purchase, the game's Information Screen still said the same thing, so I deleted the game and re-downloaded it. Now the game no longer shows a "Valid to" date, and PSDLE also shows it listed as not a free PS+ title. Success!

Glad it worked out for you. Sound Shapes is amazing!

Some things I found interesting while looking through your recap...

1. Only 4% of Playstation gamers have earned a Platinum trophy. I'm kind of surprised it's that low.

2. July was the most active month for Playstation gamers with 1.13 billion hours played. Yes publishers, gamers play games year-round so how about scheduling more AAA releases during the summer instead of cramming nearly everything into the last few months of the year?
They do the fall releases to keep people from skipping school/work on top of higher sales. Just becayse more people play games during the summer doesn't mean they will buy more. I used to think the same way with summer droughts for releases.

I still haven't received my 15% off coupon from Sony Rewards for doing the trials but they did credit my account 500 extra points today while they "continue to look into the matter". I contacted them three times about it so keep bugging them if anyone else hasn't received their coupon yet.

I've also completed the Gold and Silver trophy rewards so we'll see how long it takes for me to get those points.

Yeah, have to say that MH edition is pretty damn ugly IMO or at least the controller is.

Love that MH console.  Too bad you can't reserve it on the GS site.

(Edit, several hours later) Hey, it can finally be ordered on their site.

Frisky, you're fired.

But seriously, I'm not surprised at a blah week after 5 weeks of mostly epic sales.

My 2017:

Destiny 1 (started this way late) - 360 hours

Destiny 2 - 155 hours

Far Cry Primal - 111 hours

Played over 40 different games, got 318 trophies (4 plats), saved $69.10 from PS+ discounts.

They definitely screwed up on the first platinum trophy, it claims mine was Horizon Zero Dawn but I got the Far Cry Primal platinum long before I ever owned Horizon.

Risk of Rain is a really great game. I feel like I got my money's worth from buying that one. Lots of replayability.

The holiday sale was good for me because I was able to get a lot of indie titles for cheap. Indie titles are mostly what I play these days because (a) I don't have a lot of time for games and (b) the damn 500 gb hard drive on my launch PS4 isn't enough to keep more than a few AAA games on it at one time. But I discovered that a good number of titles that I bought during that sale pleasantly surprised me including Risk of Rain, Wand Wars, Escape Goat 2, Iron Crypticle, Tower of Guns, Neighborhorde, and Swapquest. I plan to try out everything that I bought. If I don't like something, I will just delete it. That way, I won't have buyer's remorse for games just because I never played them.

And I just "bought" that free VR app even though I will never buy a PSVR set-up. I also have problems.

I ended up playing Bound today because nothing would have made me feel worse than to pay the money and never play it after neglecting to add it free on PS+ two months ago. But yeah, all the titles I listed are the ones I now regret passing up on (I only became interested in Risk of Rain after hearing you guys rave about it). And of course, I have mostly regrets of titles that I actually paid for. Like, when am I EVER going to play Ace Banana? :whistle2:|

Honestly, I'm glad the sales are finally over. I learned that I have absolutely zero self-control when it comes to this kind of thing. There are dozens of examples of games I bought simply by virtue of being a "good deal", which I never would have paid for in any other context. I completely lost control.

Anyway, we'll see what happens next holiday season...

Don't feel bad about missing Sundered. I have put 15-20 hours into it and really enjoy it, but there is a known game-breaking bug on PS4 that, in my case, causes the game to crash out to a blue screen every time I try to enter a particular boss room. So I have finished every part of the game except this one boss fight and I can't progress further. This issue appears on the developer's "known issues" page but the last patch was released in August and does not fix it.

The Vita version was on sale a few weeks back for cheaper than that I think. That was when I bought it because of the Crossbuy.
Thanks for mentioning the PS4/Vita cross buy on Windjammers. I just discovered that Tower of Guns is cross buy for PS3 and PS4 when I turned on my PS4 this morning.
