Damn you Flash Sale, bought:

Braid

RCR

Vikings

BTTF

Sam & Max

Tokyo Jungle

I was just going to buy TJ/S&M/BTTF, but I said wth, the other ones seemed interesting enough for a Big Mac Combo price.  Bought Vikings because it seems to be fun to play on my Vita when I want a quick game.

I ended up with Tokyo Jungle, RCR, Vikings, and Jurassic Park. I already have the S&M, BTTF and Monkey Island games on other platforms. Crash Commando sounded interesting, but I couldn't add it to my cart from the browser. I'll have to try again when I can get to my PS3.

I did check it before making my comment, but the Vita DL won't pop up like other cross buys. Guess I'll see what happens.

I trust when you say something Frisky XD

Ik, but the option to do the Vita DL does not show up like other cross buys.
I see them both in my Download List in my Vita w/ buttons to download them, I'm downloading RCR now.

EDIT: playing RCR now no problem

I see them both in my Download List in my Vita w/ buttons to download them, I'm downloading RCR now.
Guess i'll have to wait. My content doesn't ever seem to work out. Season passes fail and things disappear and reappear on my DL list. Well thanks for the additional confirmation.

That is weird; as you can see I got my first trophy already on RCR, seems like a fun game and is like 26MB size in the Vita if I saw it right, Vikings is huge for the Vita though (half a gig, should be half that on the portable IMO).

Maybe restart your Vita? GL!

My understanding is every day shooter is a psp game so it won't take advantage of the second analog syick on the vita. Anyone play everyday shooter on the Vita and have comments?

Interested in Urban Freestlye impressions. I've read ghe comments so far and it seems to run the gamut from pretty good trials hd clone to terrible. Thoughts?

Thanks. Planning on Jurassic park, back to the future. Not sure on Sam and max or monkey island as they seem very different from the telltale style games I've recently played.

I was going to buy JP, but I saw the reviews online and said I will keep my buck on that one and MI should be good, I'm just not a true lover of MI. I did have them both in my cart at one moment though! Damn price of $0.99 makes you buy stuff, I added things then left it simmer for a few hours then came to my cart and started deleting games and bought only 6.

I played UF a few months back when it was free in PS+. I would say its very good for $1, played it only on my Vita, it controls well, courses are good to ok. In other words is a good one to buy for $1, I enjoyed it.

I loved the JP book and the movies, so I figured for $0.99, I can't really go wrong with the game, regardless of other issues.

Sam & Max and the Monkey Island series are traditional Point & Click-style Adventure games. The newer style that Telltale has had success with is similar, but tends to have quicktime events and other little flourishes to add some excitement to the game. Adventure games have always been about the storytelling and the writing, so I see no problem with them trying to spice things up a bit.

The PSP emulator on Vita has a number of options to remap camera controls to the right stick, which should work fine for everyday shooter unless it doesn't use the face buttons for shooting like I'd expect. It be a perfect fit for the Vita.

Urban Trial Freestyle's negative word of mouth always sounded to me like it came from people that expect it to be as perfect as the Trials games, so they consider it crap because it's not that good. It's still a pretty good clone.

Jurassic Park is the only game of that bunch that is like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us since it was basically a beta for them trying to make that style of adventure game. The others are more classic-style adventure games with puzzles and such that can impede progress until you figure out what to do unlike their newer games that simplify things enough to be mostly idiot-proof.

You should have said tyler-proof.

Tyler can play their newer stuff. The Cave is tyler-proof, however.

Edit: Nevermind. The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us are actually tyler-proof. The Cave is not safe for tylers.

Everyday Shooter on Vita does indeed use the face buttons to shoot, which I remapped to the right stick via the emulator controls for way better results. Not as accurate as a pure native right stick assignment, but way better than the buttons. Fun game with cool tunes.

If anyone cares, here are my thoughts on Braid, Retro/Grade, and Urban Trials Freestyle.
Spot on reviews as usual. Braid is excellent. Retro/Grade is pretty great (albeit short). Urban Trials is a mess. I tip my velvet fedora to you, good sir.

Going back to my earlier point about the Vita being a system that's adult oriented and loved by core gamers --

www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2014-04-14-ps-vita-doesnt-deserve-bad-reputation-drinxbox

"If people don't see the Vita doing the same number of sales as the 3DS, then it's automatically a failure," McQuinn said. "But I think what people fail to understand is the purchasers of Vitas are very, very engaged game consumers. For them, the attach rate with games is very high. There might not be a lot of Vitas out there, but the people who do own Vitas are very serious consumers; they buy a lot of games."
So is he saying vita has an exceptionally high attach rate or that people who own vitas tend to purchase lots of games? If it's the latter I can believe it. I do love the thing and agree with you about its sophisticated/adult feel. Suspend and resume is God send. Battery life is a beast. OS is buttery smooth and, barring the exorbitant memory cost, buying digitally is very easy. I'm perfectly fine with its status as a niche device, I just wish the first party/exclusive output was stronger.

That is exactly what he's saying. I think he's trying to make a point to developers that the Vita is a viable business option for them, and that games would sell on the system if the developers would make games for it.

I knew nothing of UTF and just tried it because it was free. It was terrible. It wasn't the slightest bit intuitive or interesting. I deleted it within 10 minutes of trying it out.

the worst thing about this flash sale is that it somehow summoned the spirit of geometry wars in this thread. this resulted in the first time I've actually missed my 360.

that game is sweet.

Sam and Max is awesome. It's like a more tripped out version of Monkey Island, and I find it funnier just cuz it's more off the wall.

I was pretty horrible and followed a guide tho when I got stuck cuz I couldn't use my imagination to figure it out, it seems very tough without a guide, but really that's how these games are meant to be played. I loved all the wacky dialogue and really enjoyed Sam and Max in Poker Night 2. I have only picked this one up through ps+, never played the other game, wish it was $.99 also.

also picked up both red faction games. can't go wrong for $1.98. I remember playing couch vs games in that so much fun. That stupid rail gun that shoots through walls was the bane of my existence :)

also I have crash commando dlc if anyone ever wants to boost that...

Okay. I've seen plenty of Trials fans trashing it because it's not Trials.
I love Trials and I think UTF is an ok Trials clone. It does kinda suck but it aint that bad, u can do worse like this

I'm pretty sure that, like most promotions, Tyler's offer only applies to new purchases. It's a slap in the face to you early adopters though.

Wow, what a terrible sale. I already own almost everything. Absolutely disappointed.

Only dropped $9 on the sale because I owned literally almost everything else but some of the PS2 games. Lots of really great stuff in there especially for a buck. Tokyo Jungle has been on my list forever. Wish I had bought the DLCs when they were on sale. I knew I was going to get the game some day but I passed anyway. Hopefully they go on sale again sometime.

Picked up all 4 Telltale Bundles.  They are nice change of pace even though from a technical standpoint they can frustrate the hell out of me.  Also got Super Stardust HD, World Gone Sour, and Tokyo Jungle.  I can barely play games from the PS3 generation so buying PS2 era games just seems silly.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's the best thing ever. It's a decent enough clone that I enjoyed my time with it during the long break between Trials games. Seeing lots of posts about it being terrible or one of the worst games ever confuses me with the overbearing hyperbole that is used to describe it.

This is an Awesome sale. I got all the Telltale games plus everyday shooter, Retro/Grade, Retro City Rampage, and Tokyo Jungle. I already had Braid & Super Stardust HD.

which are the four 4 Telltale Bundles? which game are worth $1 in this sale?

Back to the Future - The Game, Jurassic Park - The Game, Sam & Max - The Devil's Playground, and Tales of Monkey Island.

All the Telltale Games are worth it. The only questionable one that might not be is Jurassic Park, but 1) it'll be interesting if you're a big fan of the franchise; 2) it's only a dollar; 3) it might be worth it for a laugh with friends. Keep in mind it was scoring 5/10s when released, so play it by ear. Maybe watch some YouTube videos first. But DEFINITELY get all the others.

As far as what other games to pick up, I'd recommend:

  • Braid
  • everyday shooter
  • Plants v. Zombies (though it's better on touch/tablets, if you have one)
  • Retro/Grade
  • Retro City Rampage
  • Super Stardust HD
  • Tokyo Jungle
  • Crash Bandicoot 1-3

Thank you for your remind! I decide to buy them now. How about other mini game? Any recommendation? I have already had tokyo jungle.

seriously, dumbest idea for a trophy. top 1% on the least sold console in the world. good thing I loves me the daily challenges. now I will shut the fuck up about rayman legends. thanks for your tolerance.

I guess I am boned. My DL list only shows PS3 versions. So idk what happened, I have had issues in the past, never fails -_-.

For anyone that cares, I bought these:

Back to The Future

Blast Factor

Braid

Jurassic Park

Plants vs Zombies

Red Faction Battlegrounds

Retro City Rampage

Super Stardust

Tokyo Jungle

When Vikings Attack

All three Sypro games

IMO a great sale, if you don't have them and at .99 why not buy and replay them? Aside from some of the DLC for these (which I'm sure why some are on here). We need more holidays in the month for these flash sales (which seem to be how they pop up).  :D/
