Axiom Verge had it come out much later, and Salt & Sanctuary is also getting a Vita version that is coming out much later (they recently gave an update that it was going well). But unlike those that were well received, MN9 was not - so there is a good possibility they will just cut and run because it probably isn't going to be worth the returns. The developer has said absolutely nothing as far as I can find concerning the 3DS and Vita versions (which were a stretch goal on the Kickstarter that was reached) since it came out. It is a classic example of no matter how good the credentials a Kickstarter might have, it is still taking a chance.

Really there's very few Kickstarters that work out best for the people who back them. It's not even like it used to be where you were at least getting a significant discount on the game by backing it. There are people (even on CAG) who claim you really got to give the game time, and after a few episodes it really opens up.

I tried to give the game a chance, both on live stream and off.. I even have a friend who said it was game of the year.

It.. it just felt like teenage melodrama, and in all honest the ending feels like it just ignores everything no matter which choice you make.

(No, I didn't finish it.. I literally watched it played through after getting bored during the first episode I had to quit)

I loved Life is Strange. Is Until Dawn similar? All I really know about it is that it's in the same "interactive drama" sort of genre.

Until Dawn is closer to TellTale games than Life is Strange, but is pretty fun and has lots of depth.

Your choices do matter to an extent and at the same time don't matter enough.

Sometimes choices you make... cause weird consequences.

Such as agreeing or disagreeing with someone in a previous chapter will make that character more assertive or passive, and because of that it'll dictate IF they die or not in a later chapter. (Higher chance to die might be a better term)

Anyone even remotely interested should try out the free episode because you will be able to tell if you're going to like the game by the end. I didn't consider it as a GOTY contender though because none of those types of games should be considered for that award due to there really being no depth to the gameplay.

While Life is Strange was far from perfect I did really enjoy it. Got it at release on PC for like a third of the retail price and I felt it was worth it. I got the limited edition on PS4 when it came out and haven't opened it yet.

Life is Strange was a mixture of a Telltale game, Twin Peaks, and teen drama.

I feel like Life is Strange is like the sun in here, give the conversation time and we'll come right back around to discuss it pretty much with everyone saying the same thing.

So I'll say my same but, I really enjoyed it. I'm 36 and packaging it as a teen melodrama is pretty shortsighted and ignorant. The game is a great experience and lesson that in life things happen for a reason, often unbeknownst to us and "fixing" them can lead to worse results. I dig that greater meaning and some twists and turns in the game that hooked me emotionally. Plus the music is tight. When Spanish Sahara plays at the end you'll add that song to every deep moment you have in life. Or you should.

Loved Life is Strange except for the ending which depending on which you chose was either the bad ending or open for a sequel.. other than that I found the game to be one of my favorite in the genre probably only topped by Wolf Among Us.
