The reason it started on Christmas Eve those two years is because Christmas was at the latter end of the week, so they were obviously not going to start a Flash Sale on Friday, 12/25 and instead do it the day before. This year, that's not an issue, so it'll start tomorrow. They also don't start Flash Sales on Saturdays either unless there is something I'm forgetting.

I finally finished the story today with almost 50 hours of playtime after being distracted by Dead Rising 4 and Stardew Valley for a few weeks. I'm going to try to trudge through another 10 hours or so for the Platinum since it's fairly easy but FFXV lost a lot of luster to me around Chapter 9. Can't recall a game that's dropped from top GOTY contender to probably not even making the top 5.

Don't! Not yet, anyway. I'm 30ish hours in already. I never put that much time into a game that fast. I have too big of a backlog for that. I'd say give it a few hours do you understand the mechanics before you make a decision.

Right but their concern was that it was going to potentially be cheaper in the flash sale. The Flash sale doesn't preclude them from waiting to see if they change it from Regular week 3 sale to flash sale. I think so? But the hard part will be making yourself stop. I'm the same way. 3 kids, 2 jobs and a girlfriend. It took me 2 weeks to finish Uncharted 4. Remote play is so good for a game like this though that I play for half an hour from the couch, then go to bed and play there.

So in short, I think so, but I can't say for sure. It might drag it out too much. Some crops take 13-14 days to grow. At 30 minutes a night, you're talking a week before you get a payoff. That's a lot of delayed gratification.

Sigh, MEC is really hard for me to recommend. I loved the first game, one of my all time favorites, but MEC just misses the mark in so many places. The whole forcing the game in to an open world thing was such a fatal move because with the delays and playing the finished product it's so evident they had to make drastic cuts and scale back there ambitions at the end to get it out the door. When you get in to some of the special story missions that go in to instanced set piece areas that go entirely linear the game still feels great and captures what made the original special. Those are just too few and far between and in between you're just running back and forth across this dead, empty world.

One thing that kept happening in MEC though that really sums up my entire experience. They put in a GTA style cop system where you have to flee them before you can do anything else. Problem is when you keep getting their attention without understanding why right as you get to the mission you want to do and then have to run all over the map trying to elude them. Then you think you're finally about to and just need another few feet and womp womp you run in to one of the myriad dead ends in the middle of the map and the whole thing resets.

There's still stuff to like in there but I just have a hard time recommending it for more than $10.

I got Stardew Valley because of recommendations on here and it's just not the game I can get into. The control scheme is pretty weird, the things to do get boring pretty quick, and it just feels too slow to me. I totally understand how people love it and it did feel like Animal Crossing for a while but the controls and the speed is the killer for me.

I hope I could get a refund from Live Chat tomorrow morning

i never understood why people come here asking for recommendations on big name games when there are countless videos and reviews on youtube and metacritic

there was a guy here that talked about the Last of Us as if it was Amy, that should tell you how different taste in games can be and just because somebody here loves a game doesn't mean you will too
