Thanks. Just picked it up but of course am now getting the "delete unnecessary content from system storage" error when trying to download it that's been plaguing me the last 2 days. Uningbelievable.

I always hit the download issue at about 21-22 GB left even on small games less than a gig. I'm not sure if I have a bad sector issue or if that is line where it just won't download more due to system constraints.
If I knew for sure it was a hard drive problem, I might back up my saves, reformat it and download everything again. But not going to do that if that is a common threshold.
What are others experiencing as far as the point in space left where you cannot download even small stuff?
On my X1, I can literally get all the way down to the tens of MB left. Not sure if the PS4 doesn't account for system usage in free space available.

If you have this problem, you need to boot up your PS4 system in safe mode. From there, select "Rebuild Database." It essentially defrags your hard drive. The length of time it takes depends on how much stuff you got. Good luck!

Damn. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. My friend had the same problem. He rebuilt his database and it solved the issue. It might be bad sectors, like you and others suggested. Best of luck!

i thought someone mentioned that part of your hard drive is held back for the dvr functionality of games. i dont know if that is already included in the part of the hard drive that is used up by the OS, but i think it is an amount that you can change.

edit: looks like all you can change is how long it records for, which may or may not require less space?

Yep. Seen someone thinking that Sony could try to patch it. Sorry guys they aren't able to. It's the same with any external drive, ipod, iphone, etc., some space is reserved for the OS.

It's really something Sony should have handled in the background and showing you the true "free space". Microsoft builds that reserved OS space into how it shows the space left. If you see 11 GB free on Xbox One that is literally exactly how much space you can use.

Kind of confusing and misleading on PS4.

Were there a shit ton of updates in the last few hours for anyone else? I've had my PS4 on pretty often the last few days given all my problems with the HD space, but I just turned it back on and got pop ups for updates for Uncharted 4,Witcher 3, TLOU, Ratchet and Clank, Rocksmith, Rocket League, Dead or Alive, Firewatch, AC Syndicate, etc.

Of course only a few downloaded even though I deleted a few games to make more space so I do think my HD might have other issues. My gameshare is set to the lowest (30 seconds) and I swear my original PS4 let me go down much lower.

Can anyone recommend Caladrius Blaze at this price? ($15). There isn't a very robust lineup of SHMUPs on the PS4 and I'm getting a bit itchy. Never got around to playing Caladrius on the 360 so I don't have any reference, and Caladrius Blaze has not been reviewed very much.

That's ok. I don't really play on 360 anymore anyways. I'm looking more for the quality of the game itself. Have you played it?

Yes. One of the few games I bought recently that didn't get backlogged. I enjoyed it. It's hard to find a new shmup in this day and age, so I would recommend it. I can't say it does a lot that hasn't been seen before.

I ended up purchasing it. I knocked one storyline out last night. It's pretty good. The bullet patterns are a lot faster than most other SHMUPs I've tried. I could do without the whole Shame Break function, but whatever. Just the developers doing their japanesey stuff. The graphics are very clean. I'm enjoying how different each of the 8 characters are. Between that and your typical 6 stages and a Boss Rush mode of content, it's definitely one of the more robust single game offerings in this category. Overall I like it. I would recommend it at $15 or less, especially with the lack of other options on the market for PS4 owners.

It was definitely worth it. And, yes, other than Darius and Raiden, there hasn't been much of a showing from shmup devs during the PS4/Xbox One generation. I will probably double up and buy Caladrius on PS4 once it goes under $10, but at this point, I can't see myself rebuying at $15. I'm cheap, but I suppose I'm in the right place for that kind of behavior.

Sorry to say this, but it was recently on sale on Xbox Live on 360 for just under $7. That was about two weeks ago. It was well worth it at that price point. $15 is still cheaper than importing a disc, though, so I would go for it if you are a fan of shmups.

Caladrius Blaze is an improved version of the original Caladrius game:

Caladrius Blaze includes all the features from the original Caladrius, as well as a new mode and scenario, and new stages, enemies, and characters.

It's well worth getting the upgraded version IMO.

Really makes me wish I had the game already since I hear they've been pretty good. Holding out for the steelbook though and even though how likely am I to actually play it before they stop doing events?

You guys are in luck if you don't have any/many of these. Day of the Tentacle is one of the best adventure games ever made (best point and click ever, in my opinion); This War of Mine is an absorbing and creative strategy/sim/life-thing and a hell of a lot of fun; Titan Souls is great but too damn hard for me.

I already had them all! I'm not super excited about The Swindle, Azkend or Blazerush (couldn't they have given us the PS4 version as well at least?)

Great month for folks that have been thrifty; not so good if you already sprung for all these. I think I bought the ones I mentioned in the first paragraph all at full price, and they're definitely worth it.
