my stats are only 288 hours.  I am also a vr pioneer.  it was a fun little email.  December was the busiest month.  I wonder if Dec is busiest for people in warm climates as well?  I'm an adult so I don't have summer break or anything.

Incredible how many hours some of you are gaming.  I'm jealous.  Definitely showing the wife your posts so that maybe she'll appreciate how little time I spend gaming.  Then she'll be like well if someone jumped off a bridge, blah blah blah.  And I'll tell her sometimes she makes me want to jump off a bridge and then we'll fight and I'll get to hide in the basement and play more games.

yeah they usually go quick I always post as soon as I see they are offered

when they offer psn those usually go the fastest but Nintendo also have been showing up often if interested

just bookmark the site and check a few times a day

you can only do one at a time and sometimes there are lengthy breaks between deals but I've got probably 20 over the past year, easy way to save a few bucks at a time

cant believe i played the division for 265 hours of my 688 total, and i barely touched it after the dlc started coming out

 
So apparently the PSVR was a false scarcity and the entire VR experiment is thought to be DOA?
 

I don't usually like or agree with these two, since they focus a bit too much on trash talking and comedy during their news reports. (As evidenced during their Nintendo portion of this video)

I'm not going to watch a video to see what proof they have of those claims, so you'll have to post a summary since that first sentence sounds like it's reactionary and hyperbolic.

That first link refers to both SuperData, who wildly overestimated what PSVR would sell out of the gate that calls into question their techniques as "analysts", and VG Chartz when citing sales data, which is a good way to end any credibility to that discussion. All three of the major companies have invested in VR knowing it would be a slow burn and that has proven out, but they're still selling well for niche, expensive devices. The rest of the article seems okay other than they don't pay attention to game announcements about what is coming to the platform, as even the PSX keynote featured about 15 games for PSVR that are on the way. These last couple of weeks are the only times since launch with no PSVR releases and RE7 is obviously out this week.

That's why I asked with a ? at the end, I was relatively curious about the news and articles.

The video talks about how Sony expected to sell 2million PS VR units over the holiday season, and only sold 700million, along with very few devs looking at developing for that VR or any VR. They also pointed out the only PSVR releases on the horizon are "Star Trek" and "RE7." The final piece of evidence they used was that there are a few VR studios/developers/divisions being closed or reorganized to other departments, like RIGS for example.

The also bring up the number Vive and Rift sales, being under a couple hundred thousand each and how the adoption rate has all but stopped since released, along with the low support for the systems. They then go into not only the relative costs for getting into VR on anything, but the space needed to actively enjoy VR, pointing out PSVR has the best idea by letting you remain mostly seated.

I was hoping someone else had more concrete sources, since those are the ones they linked in/under the video.

As I said, I don't really like these guys since they seem to do to much trash talking and comedy during their show so you don't know when they're serious or not (They spend 2 minutes making fun of Breath of The Wild's graphics because of the Wii U/Switch's power and the fact it only runs at 720p/900p respectively, but I don't know if they were joking or serious or both).

The 2 million thing is from analyst firm SuperData, not Sony. Their initial prediction was about four times higher than their revised prediction and then preceded to blame Sony for their overly aggressive estimate. Sony had said beforehand that they were expecting it to be slow going early on due to supply constraints and the niche appeal for VR right now. The general estimate on sales is that it's right at the sum total of both Vive and Rift, which seems about right for it being the cheaper option of the three.

That game thing seems to be some weird meme people are jumping on, like the rash of people saying only one PSVR game was shown at PSX, that isn't true. I just looked at the PSX Keynote and some of the recent PS Blog posts on PSVR stuff to put together a quick list of upcoming titles:

Pretty much all of those had a small surge of software then fizzled out. At the end of the day, if the software doesn't sell enough units to cover the cost and produce a profit... developers will abandon it.

And commercials and Sony direct support. It's funny that history repeats itself because the folks in the VR thread are like, wait till E3 and they'll announce new games and it'll resurge. I remember saying that as an early vita and ps move owner.
 
Bah. Was waiting to bit on a couple things from the Flash Sale because I wanted to check how much space I could make on my Vita... and then when I remembered the Flash Sale is over. Bah. Really wanted SotN, Skullgirls and Hitman Go. Poop. Was just debating if I had the room for Injustice on Vita too. Should have just bought the three as is and checked space later for Injustice, at least then I would have only missed out on one game : /

 
I did the same thing. Added a bunch of stuff to my cart when it first rolled out and forgot it ended this morning (even though it was in the thread title, lol). Oh well, that's one way to save money.

As soon as I had put Deus Ex, Mutant Mudds Deluxe,and Nidhogg into my cart, the prices went back to normal. I did get 11 games for about $44 before that happened though, so no loss. Most of those games had been on sale before though, and they probably will be again. But the lesson learned here for all of us is buy it early if you think you might want it. I've bought more PS3 and Vita games than I have space for, but I will play them all someday.

Got my ff15 platinum trophy. 20th one. I feel kind of gross though since I had bought the mayo game for the easy plat.

Getting My Name is Mayo is not a whole lot different from buying a game then just following a guide straight through for a Plat which plenty have done. I'm not ashamed of buying it since it didn't take long to Plat and it's always fun seeing my trophy count go up. I still have the Vita version to finish but I might not get around to it for a while with new games starting to come out again.

Bah. Was waiting to bit on a couple things from the Flash Sale because I wanted to check how much space I could make on my Vita... and then when I remembered the Flash Sale is over. Bah. Really wanted SotN, Skullgirls and Hitman Go. Poop. Was just debating if I had the room for Injustice on Vita too. Should have just bought the three as is and checked space later for Injustice, at least then I would have only missed out on one game : /

ps - slept 3 hours, 4/6 kids at school already, other 2 sleeping. plan to play vid games/toke/work the next 12 hours or so. in retrospect, this is probly how i got to 4000+ hours last year.
