Finally another fan! I'm so hyped for Order 1887!
I enjoy cinematic games and I'm absolutely bored by chapter 2. As a game, it sucks so hard that I want to throught it out of the window. I'd prefer to see a movie of the game rather than play it. As soon as I finish it I'll trade it as fast as I can.

Wouldnt pay more than $8 for it.

Order 1886 4/10

Is back to the Future going to be cross buy for ps3/ps4? It would be nice to finally play it since I never played it after I got it from the $1 flash sale.

Fred Meyers has a sunday coupon that works on psn credit ($10 off $50, $20 of $100, $30 off $150).   Just got back, was worried it wouldn't go through but no issues.   They also have a double rewards point coupon in the paper as well.

I've been enjoying Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain a lot over the past few weeks with the slow progress I've made in the game (40+ hours in-game, ~18% completed), though not all of that time is pure playtime. Twice I've triggered story missions that weren't on the list by pushing for more Side Ops missions, which would've been nice to have more of a heads up on that before I went after them. I've just now unlocked the Africa stuff, so I'm looking forward to playing more of that.

I like the bit of MGO that I've played so far, but it's a much faster experience than the previous iterations and that kind of bums me out a bit. I kind of enjoyed them being kind of broken/clunky that I felt fit the rest of the dumb stuff about it like a glove. I made a video of each of the modes over here if you want to check that out.

Also played some of The Order 1886 as me using more of my Gamefly to check out stuff I missed this year, which is an interesting game that felt more ambitious in the story/world/presentation departments than Sony had money/time/patience to let them finish what they started. I stopped after an hour or so when I ran into a combat scenario where it seemed like enemies were spawning endlessly with the introduction of shotgunners. It was cool to see them handle things like splitting up with the AI partner without giant button prompts that Gears of War had, so you'd just pick a path and Gallahad would tell the other guy to take the other route. I have no clue what the newspaper stuff is all about other than feeling like last minute filler when they had to cut the game's development short. I'll probably come back to it at a later time, but I have to send it back so I can get something else later this week.

I've really enjoyed the Star Wars Battlefront beta so far. It feels like a more arcadey Battlefield with all of the Star Wars bells and whistles I'd expect. That the multiplayer maps are heavily designed for more of a trench warfare style of combat is interesting, which was neat for the Drop Pod mode and more of a hindrance for the AT-AT mode. It seemed like people weren't really trying to complete the Rebel's objectives in the Hoth map/mode, so there were times where the person in the AT-AT wrecked everyone and ended up with a 70-6 KDR for that game. I really enjoyed the wave-based Challenge mission that they offered with the beta, as that helped get me used to the style of combat that Battlefront is going for with its AT-ST fights. I also did a video for this on the site if you want to see that in action.

The other game I played was Unmechanical: Extended, which is a really cool physics puzzle game. The controls are really simple as you control a flying robot with a gravity beam to pick up objects and carry them around and that's it. It's all about how you use that ability and I've gotten about an hour or so, which ended with the game crashing as I was finishing up a long-term puzzle in this area that generally revolved around bombs. I managed to earn a trophy for it while at the PS4 dashboard since pausing doesn't stop things from happening in the world nor does going to the dashboard stop it, so the screenshot is of the dashboard.

Okay let's go see what's new in the Add-Ons on the PS shop on my PS4 and HOLY COW.

Dammit guys why can't you handle mass DLC packages for certain games better than this. The Vita can compartmentalize DLC into a game on the shop screen and it doesn't need to because it doesn't even have any games to sell DLC FOR anyway.

There are a lot of enemies in that area but I don't believe there are any pure spawn pits in The Order. They just get reinforcements once or twice in that area.

I think I got frustrated in the same area as he's probably talking about. I realized much too late in the game that I would have enjoyed it more if I had remembered to use the dead eye function (I forget the name). They introduce that early on and very briefly (and never mention it again), so it's easy to forget that you have it. There were a few frustrating parts that probably didn't have to be except for my absent mindedness and the game's poor presentation of that feature. Note that the slow down time feature doesn't fix the game, but does make the combat feel a little better on parts where there are lots of enemies.

I've enjoyed it too but I feel like the plane controls could be tighter. They feel like an afterthought. The ground vehicles, at least for the walker, seem about what to expect. I haven't played the big vehicle yet.

Purchase Pixels and get a Geometry Wars 3 code for PS4 or PS3. An obvious killer deal.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/12/firewatch-arrives-february-9-2016-on-ps4/

We can all find out what Firewatch is when it releases on 2/9/16 for PS4.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/12/rocket-league-goes-back-to-the-future/

The Back to the Future DeLorean is coming to Rocket League on 10/21/15 for $1.99.

I didn't post over the weekend, but I read the thread.  I was surprised at the $20 PS4 games making note by anyone.  Most of those titles are $20 or physical new copies.  I noticed as much at walmart most of them are on the bargain rack.

...

I bought a Vita this weekend.  Been having fun with it.  I did grab Citizens of Earth but will wait to download it as it's kind of big and I only have the Borderlands 2 bundle with the 8gig card.  I didn't download Borerdlands 2... I bought the Vita for mainly physical games and smaller indie games.

Hopefully tomorrow we get that 2 week sale deal like last year.  Not that I need games but I wouldn't mind rounding out my Vita collection a little more.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/08/how-you-helped-improve-call-of-duty-black-ops-iii-multiplayer/

Update: During the Beta, we announced that anyone that played would receive an exclusive PS4 dynamic theme free as a ‘thank you’ from the studio. That theme is now rolling out in the US and other regions. Keep an eye on your email and your system messages on PS4 for more details on how to redeem your dynamic theme, or Follow the instructions below to redeem your dynamic theme:

1. Navigate to the PlayStation®Store from your PS4 system Home Screen
2. Press Triangle and select Search, then type in “Black Ops III”
3. Select “Call of Duty: Black Ops III”
4. Scroll down to “Themes” > “Morg City Zombies Theme” and download the theme

5. After the download is complete, navigate to the PS4 Home Screen > “Settings” > “Themes” to select the theme

I'm loving this free theme. It's such a welcomed change from the GOW 1 10th Anniversary theme. The jazz theme song is very soothing with wireless headphones. Can't wait till the 6th.

So... I just played through the 'mission' in MGS: GZ.    After carefully interrogating, knocking out, and hiding 6 or so soldiers, I accidentally got spotted and so rampaged through, killing everything with a tank, saving a pile of prisoners, and beating the mission.   I know there are side ops and such... but if this part of the demo just wasn't my thing, is it safe to say I can ignore MGSPP too?  [stealth games just set off my need to knock every single soldier out ocd off, which i just don't have time for]

For what it's worth as a long-time fan of the series, I found Ground Zeroes to often be more frustrating than enjoyable, but I'm loving The Phantom Pain. You don't necessarily need to rely on stealth as heavily in this one, because escapes are easier, finding a hiding spot is easier, etc. The mission was usually over for me if an enemy spotted me in GZ, but that's rarely the case in TPP.

YMMV depending on your play style, since MGS is a series where you can take many different approaches to a single situation.

What he heck.. is Thomas was Alone free for anyone else? I checked the store on my PS3 earlier and it was free to buy the ps3/vita version. OP shows it should be $2 and its not a PS+ game

It was in the past and is cross buy. So my guess would be you claimed it then and when the PS4 version came out you didn't reclaim them.

Thinking about buying some PS Minis to go in for the spend $100, get $15 back. I'm definitely buying Denki Blocks because I had it on Game Boy Advance way back when. Any others I should get?

We should know in about 4 hours if there's a special 2 week deals of the dead type sale. This weekend also is likely going to be a flash sale (if it matches the sales last year... if not, then next weekend). Personally, I'd save some $$ for that and if it doesn't pan out then find some filler content. The one thing that keeps me from buying more Mini's is the lack of trophies and achievements. I know it's silly, but it makes figuring out if I 100% finished a game much easier. Some games though are classic regardless of this stuff.

Not seeing a sale price, but see the standalone version of Helldivers listed on the sale pages. Hope we get a good price on it and, even better, a sale on the newest bundle.

Played the heck out of the Star Wars Battlefront beta this weekend. It was a blast and convinced me to toss down the money for the game. I think some of the air combat can be improved a bit but, overall, I'm sure I can get used to it.

Price drop. You can order the physical edition of the bundle edition from GF now for 19.99 or wait until it goes on sale next week at Gamestop for 19.99.

Games I want to go on sale:

Tales of Hearts R for $10

Tales of Xillia 2 for $10

Ys VII for $3.75-7.49

Lunar Silver Star Harmony for $3.75-7.49

Come on, make it happen!

For Souls and Bloodborne fans, what's the best way to get into the series? Should I just strike out on my own, use some guide, or something else? I probably will play Demon's Souls first... eventually.
