My PS4 is doing that auto eject error again. I fixed it before by doing the 30 second off. unplug 3 minutes, but its not working again. This is really pissing me off. I just want to play some mgsv.

Edit - anyone try the tightening screw method?

Yikes, most of those prices are laughably bad. I hope we see bigger drops in more recent games this year.
My thoughts exactly, hoping it's at LEAST 5 cheaper like seriously. Everything is always overpriced because they list newer games, but even most of those were cheap as hell during BF (last year for physical at retailers).

they would not start a flash sale on christmas day... would they? Mid week would not make sense either.. unless they just put everything in one sale next tuesday.
2013 - Friday December 20th

2014 - Wednesday December 24th (extended to the 31st due to PSN going down)

I'd imagine it'll start Thursday December 24th, but it's entirely possible it could be this weekend but it makes more sense for it to be over Christmas as people love a good sale right after getting a new system on Christmas Day. Even if PSN is down for a couple days they'll probably extend the sale again and give PS+ members a few extra days on their accounts. No big deal.

So yeah, like last year they could start the flash sale on an odd day. Or they could break tradition and do it this weekend... or worse they could just not do one.

Ultimately only Sony and the publishers participating will know what day the sale starts or if there even is one. So it's all speculation.

Yeah at those prices, I will skip that sale all together. However the pricing seems to be geared towards the Non-CAG gamers who got a bunch of PSN funds from xmas that want all the newer games.

No, sorry man. I didn't even know this was a thing until the new model with buttons came out. Everybody was so happy to be done with that eject issue. I will say most of my games are digital so I don't touch the sensors often.

Just an absolute stupid suggestion would to be, clean the eject touch button (with a q-tip and isopropanol alcohol) and see if that could help?

I've 'repaired' so many tablets that touch wasn't working on by just cleaning the screens. It's stupid, but sometimes it's the easiest step you can overlook.

I know this is the wrong thing to say on this thread, but i'm kind of burned out on sales - especially from Sony. It seems like we've gotten one after another lately and many overlapping. I feel like too many sales might be making Sony and publishers less inclined to offer actual deals or they are just recycling similar deals too often. I wouldn't mind them skipping a flash sale or two to build up steam for something more exciting.

Of course, when they have some great flash sale with incredible prices next week, i'll be all over it, so i'm mostly just talk...

Been really disappointed in the lack of sales for DLC over the last month...

I'm about to get the platinum in The Evil Within, and I want a deal on the DLC darn it!

You'd think they would just discount it permanently after so long...I mean when a game hits $20-30, should you really need to pay just as much for its DLC? It should drop, too...

It's rare that they do any DLC sales. I can mostly only remember the Battlefield Premiums ever go on sale a couple of years later.

I don't mind the weekly sales as much because I can resist most of the stuff on sale. How? I already own the games or I'm just not interested enough in them to spend money. Right now my PS3 collection (physical and digital) is pretty amazing. I have most of the AAA stuff that I want to play and the odd ball titles I love. My Vita collection is pretty exceptional with very few wants. I don't play the PS4 yet because my kids have it, but I already own the main game I wanted to play (Infamous SS & FL). So where I get more tempted is PS1 stuff.... yet I resisted everything from that Disney sale. I bought 3 of the 5 ps1 games in the current week sale and a couple games from the week 1 sale. Looking through the PS1 games on PSN, there's maybe a dozen or two games I'd buy... no way they are all going on sale.

Having a super short list of actual wants and not buying to much random stuff for more than a couple bucks makes these sales seem so much further in between for me.

But yeah I'm often in the same boat of being up for a great sale but yet hoping that it's another crap week so I can ignore it all.

Still, no doubt about it... some of the sales have had some really good deals in them. I don't think the sales are hurting... but rather getting us cheapskates into the digital store to buy more games.

For those that were worried about Rocket League's PS+ hurt its sales potential, the game has nearly reached $50 million in revenue on a budget of about $2 million, so they're doing quite well right now. They mention that they're working on some more licensed cars for the game with KITT being specifically named.
They deserve a congrats....just a fun easy to start and cool to play game.

As someone who recently got a PSTV and PS4, these sales are murdering my wallet. I missed out on all these in the past, so this week I grabbed LBP 3 and Omega Quintet.

Sadly, I no longer really have a family or significant other...

Which really makes this time of year hurt more than any other.
I instantly thought of a dozen or so barbed, joking comments to throw at you since that's what we do in this thread, but instead, you get a limited-time-only group hug, assuming everyone's up for it.

-Leaving your CC on PSN, it's fine.
Yeah, basically, that's all I'm saying. Breaches really aren't a big deal anymore -- cc companies are so good at detecting, responding to, and otherwise dealing with fraud that it's approaching non-issue. [My wife, in addition to her day job, sometimes speaks at conferences on digital fraud]. Some people have this deep fear of 'digital fraud', but are perfectly content using their card at stores, which is just as risky [from low level crap at gas stations, to big breaches like Target].

The only real issue at hand is ensuring your own computer isn't compromised with keyloggers and such, because that's when really painful shit can happen [account hijacking, etc] but that's completely different from CC issues. I do not lose a second of sleep having my cards on sony servers, anymore than I worry about the fact that hundreds of other companies have records of my cc details too [either from online purchases, or in store purchases]. All of those put me 'at risk', but CC companies are excellent on the issue now.

My sister recently got her cc details stolen [government computers, no less] and she was visiting for Thanksgiving -- while she was here the cc company called her within like 1 minute of an odd purchase [sneakers]... the person buying them was probably still in the store. All resolved in like 15 seconds, she just confirmed it wasn't her and they did everything else.

You know why you shouldn't leave a CC attached? So they can't charge you for something that turned it's auto renew on without you realizing.

Awesome. If anything, I think Ps+ helped them, because it gave community an instant boost and then tremendous word of mouth. Good game are good, and get rewarded. I have a feeling more developers are going to hope sony features their more mp focused games on ps+ in the future.

Or just, you know, turn it off. I value the convenience of just pulling the trigger when I want to over needing to turn off auto-renew. I have tons of sale-bought PSN credit, but unlike most here, I love when I put a $20 card on to buy something for $21 and get $4 bonus space bux due to the min add. I do that even if i've got another $100 in cards on the shelf.

If it wasn't for the fact that it was a PS+ game that people got for free it would have got about 10% of the recognition it received. They should thank their lucky stars it was a PS+ game.

I have. It fixed it for a few months then it started doing it again. I sent it in before warranty expired. The one they sent me back didn't want to read discs, I should have just done the screw method again.

this yes, we worry so much about what we don't have, when we should be celebrating what we do. Hugs from a fellow CAG.

I just keep piles of credit in Nintenbux and Sonybux in reserve. I have $100 Nintenbux just sitting around awaiting a fey whim. This was all bought on discount so if I wanted to suddenly drop $50 on Stella Glow or some nonsense DDL, I am not actually losing out all that much. This fields impulse buys, keeps your credit card safe, AND it's a great way to bleed stuff like Best Buy reward certs if they are about to expire or something like that.

Whats the cheapest Resident Evil Revelations 2 has been at? Physical or Digital? Haven't even payed attention to the game but I played Episode 1 and I think it could be good for Co op.
Dunno if they did this on purpose, but the multiple packages for RER2 have completely skewed the digital price. It's like $25 flat retail for the the main set digital and $40 (?) for the package with all the alternate costumes and pointless DLCso you have to pay attention which package is on offer. It's a mess.

And there's probably still people who Don't had auto turned it on for with whatever update they did and don't realize it's on. Then in the future they stop sending it friendly reminder emails and whoops you paid full price.

I have over $100 in Sonybux in various denominations at all time too. I -hate- spending spacebux though. I always want to save it for a rainy day. I also dislike spending it huge amounts. My wife thinks it's hilarious that I horde credit [i used to have like 150 in sony, $200 in target, and $150 in amazon and would regularly buy things at target/amazon with real money to keep my credit]. It works for me, though, because it means when i really want something [my ps4, uncharted 4, etc] i can use credit. we're all fucking crazy, i don't care.

I don't cry tears for people that don't read the huge warning signs Sony puts up if you try to buy ps+ that auto-renew will be turned on. Seriously, just try to do it on the store -- if someone clicks past all that w/o reading it, and gets charged, it's on them.

We've been over this, it re-enabled it for people with zero notification until your sub was about to renew. I just renewed mine this week with a code and the website error'd out but still applied the code to my account and so I got zero notification from it.

If having a card attached to it works for you that's fine but there's plenty of valid reasons not to leave a CC attached to an account that doesn't require it.

Looks like the screw method worked. I was able to play MGS V for 3 hours + without problems. From the video I watched, it says that this screw can mysteriously go loose at times. You probably should have tried it again before you sent it in.

Just so you guys know, it isn't the screw. If you want a really permanent fix, you need to bend the metal piece that connects the eject button with the board. Bend it away to stop the connection and disable the eject button.

Sure, you can't use the physical eject button anymore, but you can always use the menu to eject a disc digitally. And the metal can be bent back should you ever want to enable your beepin' - ass button again.

I have been through many of the methods you'll find (including the screw) and none are permanent but the bending of the metal connector.

Can't find the video of it right now, but if you look up how to disassemble the console enough to take the top shell off, you'll see the metal connector on the opposite side of the eject button, on the inside of the shell. Can't miss it.

This ultimately means nothing. You won't miss anything if you skip.

I was looking at my Sony Rewards points, and I noticed my $1.50 Misadventures of Tron Bonne purchase got me 2 points. Instantly my CAG mind thought stop buying multiple items in one transaction. They round up to the next point, so multiple transactions means multiple round ups.

But, I noticed something as I checked other purchases to see if they either round up as soon as you go over a dollar, or if they round up once you reach fifty cents. Sony Rewards actually rounds up each item in your basket; not just the total. That's nice of them.

I think you have a problem.

They are releasing a new edition with everything in it but calling it the enhanced edition - http://m.gamestop.com/product/ps4/games/dying-light-the-following-enhanced-edition/127351
Thats a bit odd.. looks like its not just an expansion and the game but that they made a bunch of changes to the core game itself? No idea what the 'legend system' is. Regardless im assuming thats the version to just wait for since im not in a rush to play the game, right?

I see you went with the screw method but just to let you know, i had that issue and it pissed me off. i fixed it by simply mashing the rubber piece on the bottom of the PS4 in and back a bunch. I just grabbed it with my fingers and pushed in in and back with really firm pressure, it hasn't done the beep thing since. I really think its just the thing expanding and hitting the eject button. It seems seating it in firmly took care of it for me

Yeah if I didn't already own the game & season pass I would probably just wait for that edition to be released. Might be able to find it on sale for less than buying the game & season pass separately.

The greatest thing ever is happening.

Fantavision is coming to the PS4 as one of the PS2 games.

I know none of you will agree with me, but PS2 classics on PS4 is kind of like driving your Ferrari around the police station parking lot.

I fail to see how driving a Ferrari would be a bad thing or somehow less cool even in a police station parking lot. It's not like you really get to open one of them up on the regular roads anyway.

OK. PS2 games on PS4 is like going to a great steakhouse and just getting the vegetable plate.

One of the car dealers around here bought a Ferrari F40 new back in the day, drove it a grand total of 3 miles and then garaged it. Brings it out for car shows etc, but never drives it. He knows he would be in jail or dead if he did.

Every time he shows it, every one drools.

Being able to drive a Ferrari, even in a police parking lot.. i'll take it.

In Vegas years ago a guy won some money at the tables and rented a brand new Viper, stood on it coming out of the parking lot lost control and hit 3 cars. People who have never had a car with that much power.. tend to really get in trouble when they do get behind the wheel.

It works both ways, which means I'm allowed to defend my position too: More to the point, we aren't having this conversation because people randomly say 'attach a CC to your account!', we're having this conversation because people randomly warn others not to, and not always for good reason.

As for your case, if the website error'd out that really can't be helped. They warned you, the digital gods intervened. At some point the warnings are enough [you can't even put it in your cart without being warned], and I don't need them to go so far as to call my mother and pay her to nag me about autorenew.

Clearly, you're my mother and Sony already pays you to remind me about autorenew.

I think you have a problem.
We all do.

More to the point, it's more that I have a wife. Spacebux are invisible money that she doesn't know about, so the more I have the better. If I have $100 in spacebux, and want to buy a $5 game some random week, it's in my best interest to spend real $5 over depleting my semi-secret stash since the spacbux would let me splurge on, say, this winter sale, w/o her even knowing i just bought 10 games whereas I'd be asked about what I spent $50 on. But those little $5 purchases are no big deal. All hail spacebux.

As for your case, if the website error'd out that really can't be helped. You can't even add the game to your cart without being told about it being renewed, and at some point they are 'doing their best' to tell you it's getting renewed - obviously if some network error happens it'll get blocked, but that's true of pretty much anything. Personally I think text when even putting it in your cart, and huge red text (I just renewed very recently too) is 'good enough warning', short of them calling my mother and paying her to nag me about it.

Even if they didn't warn us at all, my point remains: I value the convenience of having a CC attached, even if that means I need to turn off autorenew. I view it as a non-issue. You view it as a big issue. The world still turns.
Just an FYI,

I bought 4 of the 3month cards during Walmart's Black Friday sale. When I hit the webstore and redeemed them to my account I never got a warning any of the 4 times concerning auto renewal getting turned back on.

Y'all are missing the best reason to not have a CC attached.  It cuts down on impulse purchases.  If I have to go to the store or take the extra step to buy another code on Amazon because I only have a limited amount of PSN funds, then maybe I'll think twice about buying something that I don't really need...like FF7 with the free theme.

That being said, I keep a few spare PSN cards in a drawer for emergencies, like a Flash sale pricing of Fantavision.

I am so stoked.

So this week, it looks like only Metal Slug is for me. What else did you guys get? Last weeks deals were better imo.
Probably only Jamestown+ for me. I'm contemplating Metal Slug 3, which I've owned on far too many consoles already, and Armored Core, which I'm fairly sure is a better game in my memory than will be if I dare try to play it again.
