So I was trying to download something to my 8GB Vita memory card. Something went wrong, and now it's saying I have to format the card before I can do anything with it.

Keeping in mind that this memory card contains all of my PS Mobile games, which are no longer available to download anywhere. I didn't have any way to back them up, so if not for the fact that I have them on my 64GB card as well, I would be absolutely livid right now.

Im still not happy about this whole PS Mobile situation. I'm gonna hound Sony until they come up with a REAL solution to this corner they've painted themselves (and us by extension) into.
I believe their official solution was "bite me". Which is pretty much the same solution I got when asking about making the backup tool work with my PC.

You must have misread my post since I was pretty clear that I don't think that PS2 emulation is shoving aside PS4 big budget games. My point was that it certainly seems possible that PS2 emulation could be taking resources away from other initiatives that I or others might want. Sony only has so many engineers that they're going to employ and the ones devoted to PS2 emulation aren't going to be working on other projects like being able to change PSN names or some other random improvement someone might want. Again, like I said before, i'm sure a lot of people are interested in PS2 emulation and are probably willing to pay for it, so maybe i'm in the minority and maybe it's shrewd of Sony. Just expressing an opinion of preference on where i'd prefer to see Sony focus its development manpower and budget.
PS2 emulation is important to me... So manpower properly used, just not for you and others? Kinda one sided.

PS3 emulation would be more important to me. But not gonna happen with PS Now.
It's very likely that PS3 emulation is physically impossible. The Cell architecture is very strange and trying to run it under a mostly-stock AMD chip is not likely to work well at all, even with recompiling tricks like MS is using.

I definately think it's possible. Just don't think Sony would want to do it with PS Now.

Ended up getting the Life is Strange platinum today. It was easy, but boring. Still trying to beat Bloodborne and then I can move on to Witcher 3. ( or blood dragon again, or finish Vanquish ). I am on winter break from University so I have a lot of free time now. I better cherish this last one before graduation.
Are there missable trophies in Life is Strange? Good luck with the Bloodborne platinum. Those Chalice Dungeons made me feel frenzied.

I have no idea what would make a good business model but...

If Sony offered get a specific PS2 game upgraded to PS4 quality with trophies and 1080P for $10,

would people pay $5 to play their previously owned PS2 disc (not upgraded) on the PS4?

Yeah, I don't want to rebuy games that I own but there are games that I would like to play again just not at a $10 price point.

Honestly every upscaled PS2 to PS4 game will eventually get sales just like the ps3/ps2/ps1 classics do and everyone will be ah Dark Cloud 2 upscaled/trophies for 5 bucks count me in, including me. Just wait for sale, ignore PS NOW unless you don't have a PS3 or really like streaming games, and just wait for sales to pay what you want instead of $15 which is high for some of these.

Money talks in the corporate world and if they are not selling they have to decide what to do to get it to sell...that's just the way the world is. Make your money count. Course you can hashtag every twitter post to Sony and complain to hell or vent on these forums, but I usually choose the good old fashioned way.

Can someone who got their 10% off coupon let us know what the email subject is? I didn't get mine, trying to search for it before I contact Sony.

Just thinking it's possible doesn't make it so. I'd say there's zero chance the PS4 could do it. Eventually? Sure, the PS6 might be able to have a virtual ps3 on it, but who is going to spend the resources to make that? So even there, doubtful.

All I was really trying to say was that Sony has too much of a vested interest in PS Now to even want to try to do it. I really do think just like Xbox One that software emulation is possible. Not saying at all that I am expecting it or that Sony should invest time in it.

It really isn't. It'd be easier for them to port Xbox 360 versions over before porting PS3 versions over.

Edit: I don't mean it's absolutely impossible, but it'd be way more trouble than it's worth, unfortunately. The good news is that PS5 will probably have PS4 backwards compatibility.

Or if you want to play PS2 games in 1080 and higher quality then stick the disc in your PC and use an emulator.
PS2 emulation has really come around these days huh? I haven't really used emulators since the ps1 days so I need to try my mass variety of games on one to see how beautiful they get.

Also Dark Cloud 2 was not upressed for the ps4 recently?...ugg may have gotten my games mixed up cause was thinking of adding it for the paypal deal but it's dark cloud 1...gross....

Wait. That works? Damn internet. I can never tell if it's sarcasm. But PS2 discs are DVDs, right?

It's off to Google. But now that I think about it, I don't have a CD/DVD drive on my computer or a joystick.

Oh well, even if I played FFX that way, I wouldn't get the nifty theme.

PS2 emulation is great these days. PCSX2 runs games well even on not powerful hardware. Obviously a beefier computer will get better graphics out of it.

Yes, they're DVDs and as mentioned PCSX2 is quite good and works with most games these days. You have a number of graphical options too and can super sample them if you have better hardware. Been planning to get one of those XB1 controller wireless adapters just to play the Xenosaga and .hack games I've had sitting here.

Dolphin is great for doing the same thing with GC and Wii games (the ones that don't require waggle though you can sync Wiimotes through bluetooth).

There is no missable trophies. There are 5 for completing each episode which are not missable. Then you can go back to each episode and take the photos in collectable mode which won't effect the choices you made in the game.

I entered a new Chalice Dungeon, but I am stuck in it. There is some like bent over fire witch or something messing me up. There is two right when I go up a later and they 1 shot me. I will have to try again later today.

There are photo op collectibles in each chapter that you can miss, but you can easily replay chapters in a collectible mode and jump to the specific parts where they're at.

rpcs3 already emulated a few games at playable speed, but it's going to be dx12 only.

Supposedly, there's a PS2 emulator for Android but there aren't many Android devices that are able to run it well at this point. I'm hoping it makes it to Android TV and Nvidia Shield TV soon because the Shield device is somewhere between an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One in terms of raw power.

So these were the same guys that made PSN down Christmas/right after? Those fuckers.

If PSN goes down does netflix go down with it?
I think these dudes call themselves Phantom squad? Last year was Lizard squad. Probably the same people but calling themselves something else. It's pretty much a yearly thing now.

Dudes? What if some are dudettes? Please help us create a safe space for psuedo-hacker scum. These microaggressions will not stand, manatee.

FYI ... for CAG's in the Pacific NW of the USA, Fred Meyer once again has double-coupons on PSN credit, meaning you can save approx. 28% off gift-cards when you use the coupons at the end of the "Fred Meyer" sticky thread (within CAG's "Northwest" forum) here ... https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/347660-sticky-fred-meyers-coupons-valid-upon-xbox-playstation-gcs/?p=13109280
Welp, now have over $200 in highly discounted spacebux. I'd like to think that'll last me all 2016, but...

Huh. Interesting. I wasn't aware of this. I actually prefer playing my PS2 stuff on my PS2's. But this may be something worth trying for the hell fo it to see if it upscales and looks noticeably better

My Just Cause 3 review is live: http://smashpad.com/just-cause-3-review/

Conveniently, an update went live a few days later to address performance issues, though my time with it yesterday seemed to suggest that they haven't fixed the framerate issues yet. It's better, but I still experienced some along with long load times for challenges. I'll have to do some tests to see if the times have really improved from my earlier numbers.

Pretty sure it's all cosmetic so the answer is whichever one has the cars you like best.
Pretty much. I've bought all DLC so far to support the dev (felt bad getting it free with plus since this is my most played game this year by a mile). The DeLorean is my favorite, but it's the only DLC without trophies attached to it (if that matters to you).

Am I the only one who's always anxious and eager to see the new sales?
You certainly aren't, I think most people here are very interested to see what deals go up. I'm usually busy at the time they go live, so it's a treat to go to the sales page a little later that day to see what went up for sale.

I thought Dragon Age Origins...ooooh, I want that but I probably shouldn't as I have way too much of a backlog.

Then I realized I already own it on disc and played it until my PS3 burned out (and I didn't have cloud saves for it).

I also just realized as I'm typing that I own and never unwrapped the disc for Bulletstorm and bought Deathspank 2 (as I loved the first one) and never played that either.

When am I ever going to get to these games? Never.  I will NEVER get to these games unless I just stop going to work for a year.

Ugh, and I bought my kids Disney Infinity 3 so there goes any chance of me playing games.
