I'm looking to get:

Broken Age
The Fall
Super Stardust Ultra
Tower of Guns
Shantae: Risky's Revenge
Stories: The Path of Destinies

I'm also considering Submerged.

Does anyone have anything to say about any of these titles? I'm mainly looking to make sure they function well on the PS4, but any lymeric or anecdote you may have is welcome.

Thinking about getting Transformers Devastation and Dynasty Warriors 8 but I'm not sure. Was Transformers good?
Devastation is amazing for anyone who likes good Platinum games and Gen 1 Transformers.

It is a major kick in the nostalgia with great gameplay to back it up, warning it's only 4-6hrs long.

Dark Spark is a movie tie in on the Cybertron engine. The Cybertron segments are decent, the rest is not.

Dynasty Warriors 8 is the complete version, and usual Dynasty Affair.. probably the most refined in the series.

Though I prefer the CAW Campaigns of 4 and 5.

Broken Age - Decent Point and Click adventure game, the 2nd act is quite a bit harder than the first.

Shantae: Risky' Revenge is an upscaled DS game and it shows.

I'd second this.. Graces f is still my favorite Tales game to date, and I've played most of them..
I will third(?) this! Tales of Graces is my second favorite :) Awesome prices on all the Tales games! Great for JRPG fans who like a little more action in their combat.

I'm tempted by Sword Art Online: Lost song for $18, but I've heard mixed reviews. I'll probably cave anyway, but we'll see. :) Great and unexpected sale!

The Fall and Super Stardust Ultra are fantastic. I've heard good things about Stories from a friend that beat it.

I really enjoyed both The Fall and Broken Age. Both run well on PS4

I feel like a lot of people would have bought God Eater Resurrection today for $20 but this sale kind of boned that. And there's a second part next week.

Hopefully, a lot of people pick up Brandish, Falcom's other long-running series not named Ys. It came out last year when PSP was already dead and is an often overlooked series.

Wait wasn't Tales from the Borderlands $5 last week??

Mmmm Awesomenauts looks interesting might jump on that. fuck Stories: The path of destinies for 5 :hot: :hot: :hot: .... :D/  oh yeah

Wow. This is an amazing sale. I might just throw Hyperdevotion Noire into the backlog black hole for $3 just to complete the set, among others.

I feel like there are a lot of vita games I want. I added the following to my cart:

Tales Of Hearts R, J-Stars Victory VS+, Hyperdimension Neptunia ReBirth 2, Monster Monpiece, MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies, Paranautical Activity, Lets Fish: Hooked On

Not gonna buy all of them cus that's a lot of money but any reccomendations from this list? Still have to check the PS4 sale again but didn't see anything that stood out to me there from my first pass through. Really wish Salt & Sanctuary was on sale but maybe next week.
Get Tales of Hearts R. Don't argue, just shut up and do it. Re;Birth2 for that price, as well.

I also very strongly recommend against getting MegaTagmension at this point. Not because of the quality of the game or anything, but because now that it's already entered the Neptunia sale cycle, its price is going to drop hard. See the Re;Birth games for examples in practice.

It's odd that ever since packing away my PS3, I've heard so much about this nebulous "Tales" series. I was going into this assuming that most of them have been remade/ported to Vita but I only see Tales of Hearts R - it seems like a spin off. Is it? Any entry that you would say a noob HAS to experience?
The Tales games are action RPGs and are all self-contained minus a couple obvious sequels ala Final Fantasy. Tales of Hearts R is the only one out for Vita and is a must-own at that price. Symphonia Chronicles at $4 would also qualify as such.

Alright, this is an amazing sale for jrpg.

Now, can someone tell me the difference between Rebirth 1 and 2? I see the sequel (or whatever it is) is cheaper then the first, kinda intrigued by them for their prices.

Also, Monster Monpiece, i've heard some people talk that it's pretty good, which by seeing the Screenshots seems pretty cool.

Definitely getting:

Tales of Hearts R
J-stars

and maybe Omega Quintlet (since it's been soooo much on sale, might as well pick it up)
Re;Birth 2 has a different main protagonist, is significantly darker than the first, and has multiple endings. The core gameplay is the same, except with one extra party slot in the sequel. Also, each one has a $0.99 DLC that you NEED to buy with them. Re;Birth 1's is the Plutia Battle Entry DLC and Re;Birth 2's is the Emergency Help Pack.

Not saying they are bad games by any means...but equating hours to something being "worth it" doesnt make sense.
How so? Lets say I have 2 RPG's I am looking at and both are the same price and are similarly reviewed. I am more likely to pick the one that is longer in length because I feel I am getting more bang for my buck. Other things such as New Game Plus (which would increase the hours played) also make the game more worth it as well.

That's provided you have the time to play things. I can't remember the last time I made it through a 40 hour game. I'd much rather pick up a short (5-10) hour game that I might be able to make it through, than a long game that I know I'll never finish. So for some people, length can actually be problematic, rather than "getting more for your money."

Not saying that it's bad for you to equate time to value, but not everyone has that luxury, sadly.

I played it on the PS3 and didn't have any issues. Guess I just got lucky.
It's all stuff that you'd never notice without having play experience on another system to compare it to. I did the same as you and never had any problems, either.

That's why, right there. Just saying that Game X is 75 hours while Game Y is 25 hours doesn't automatically mean that Game X is better. It might be longer, but those hours might be full of horrible gameplay mechanics while Game Y is shorter but more fun.

Well, "The Swindle" has lived up to its name. I bought it yesterday during the flash sale for $1.50 more.
So funny that you said this because it is exactly the thought that ran through my head when I saw today's price..

I have a strong feeling that will end up as part of a Plus lineup.
The good thing is we should know July's PS+ games any day now but definitely by the time this sale is over..

I just got Thomas was Alone and Woah Dave! for free via the web store, not sure if that's intended or not.
I'm going to guess that you either bought them earlier or got them via PS+, as they were ported to other platforms later and are free due to Cross Buy support. They're not free to everyone.

I'd preorder God Eater 2 Rage Burst if they'd hurry up and put Resurrection's PS4 version on so I can download it, all I see is the Vita version.

is "Trillion: God of Destruction" good??
I've heard the game average, Hyperdimension Noire: Black heart looks similar if your interested and is only $3.

I'm honestly getting Ray Gigant, the artwork look great.

Also getting Black Heart.

Doom for $35 worth it?
Doom is worth every penny at 35 dollars. I am loving the game! All the levels have so many secrets I find myself going back and replaying them just to find the secrets. It has the classic Doom feel to me as someone who loved the first 3. I am 10 plus hours in and still have a couple levels to go to get through the campaign.

is "Trillion: God of Destruction" good??
I find it be below average. I've ranted many times, but the Trillion battle system kills the game for me. It makes it too repetitive and the optimizing is garbage honestly once you really figure out how to deal max damage.

Any thought on Lords of the Fallen? I honestly never got into the Dark Souls games so is it pointless to try this game?
It's a bit easier than the Dark Souls series (at least in my opinion) but if you don't like the general gameplay style of Dark Souls, you probably won't like Lords of the Fallen. There's a bit of story, but it's mostly working your way through the world and fighting bosses and slowly upgrading your stats. It shares a lot of the mechanics of Dark Souls. That being said, I enjoyed it :)

Also keep in mind that it was a free game on Xbox Games with Gold, so it very well could end up being a PS+ freebie, so if you don't intend to play it soon, might want to hold off..

is "Trillion: God of Destruction" good??
I thought the game was really fun. It is part srpg (you don't battle that often) and part sim game (you choose what training to do from a menu, have to manage time and character's energy level). Got through the first run (you aren't really expected to "win" the first time") and about half of the second, but haven't had time to go back yet (reviewing other stuff).

Noire isn't that similar to Trillion, except that both have battles on a grid.

I played about an hour or so of the Xbox One version (it was a GwG) and thought it was bad. It reminded me why I don't like the Souls games.
