Looks like my points total was correct on the new Sony Rewards site, I've seen some people mention it showing they had no points. I can't view my Pass activity but it did add 1000 points from a Platinum pass I finished while the site was down. Cashed in for a $20 code and it showed up in about 10 minutes. I'm guessing they're still putting the finishing touches on the site, hopefully they don't change the pass system too much because I really like it.

Yeah, but you have to transfer them onto the Vita through your PS3.
Blood Omen transfers too? Awesome. I was afraid it had licensing issues or something. Going to grab both.

Also, my rewards apparently reset. Damn.

My rewards are still there.

I don't like the slide bar to search by points range.  The lowest number is 300 and the highest is 3 MILLION and 1

Oh, it's much to find easier to find Playstation stuff when I click the Playstation link.  PSN money is the first thing on the screen.

Dumb question, but will Sony Rewards send a $10 gift card for 10 platinum's regardless of that "pass"?  I got my 10th on the 27th and the rewards site is showing a pending order for 1000 points on the 28th that I did not make because I don't have that many points. So, not really sure what's going on there, but I wouldn't complain.

I bought a $20 code.  They're literally mailing it to me.  Ugh.  Well, I guess it will come in handy for any Black Friday sale or at worst, I'll get it for a last minute Christmas sale.

Oh crap.  My Sony Rewards email was one email, but my PSN email was a second email.  I just accidentally logged into Sony Rewards with my PSN email, and it prompted me to associate my PSN account with my Sony Rewards account.  I clicked through not thinking anything was wrong about that, but immediately realized that there was nothing in my history: no previous orders, no points earned, no trophy passes, nothing.  Because it's a "new" account under my PSN email now.  It won't let me log in with my old Sony Rewards account now.

Did I just screw myself?  I was on platinum #9 right before the changeover too.  UGHHHHHHH.

How in the hell do you turn in platinum trophies for rewards points.
It's not up at the moment, but you don't turn in trophies for points. You have to enable the Rewards Passes first and the trophies you earned from then on count towards these goals, which are earned automatically as you reach them.

No, they just add the points to your account.

From the FAQ:

What are Passes?

Stay tuned. A new pass experience is coming soon. For more information visit the Passes page under the Earn section of Sony Rewards.

Will I lose any of my current pass progress?

No. We will be transitioning all of your completed Passes, and in-progress Passes to the new pass experience.

Will I still be earning towards my PlayStation® Passes?

Yes. All of the PlayStation® Passes that you’re eligible for will continue to progress based on your activity.
Yeah, they sent out surveys recently about adding more stuff to do for reward points in the future, which I assume is part of this whole overhaul of Sony Rewards.

PSVR people, how good is the Aim Controller? Currently crazy expensive and wondering if I should keep my eyes open for a sale.

I probably should have been more clear in my post. In that particular pass, I was only at about 5/10 platinum trophies. I got my 10th overall platinum trophy on the 27th and it says there are points pending. I was wondering if they do it regardless of the pass since it is my 10th or if it was an error. Not that I'd be complaining of this either way. Just curious if that's how it works.

They only track the trophies you earn AFTER starting a pass. Any platinums you earned before the passes were introduced do not count

That's the crappiest rewards system. I won't even sign up to support that.
Crappy? Maybe. All I know is that I spent money on PSN games and they gave me points that I just traded to get more money for PSN games.

Also, get this, they gave me points for playing games I already own that I traded in to get more money for PSN games.

I am satisfied. It is something for nothing (since I was going to spend the money and play games anyway).

I personally loved using it in Farpoint. It’s a bit goofy looking but as long as it’s calibrated correctly it gets the job done and well worth it for the experience. I wish more games utilized it. But I personally don’t regret the purchase.

I’ve only used it on a couple of different games so far, but it’s awesome. Your best bet is to get the Firewall Zero Hour bundle. I’ve heard that game is great and it costs the same as the aim by itself. In stock at Best Buy and gcu eligible if you have it https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=aim+firewall+bundle&_dyncharset=UTF-8&_dynSessConf=&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys
I paid $64 at Newegg for the Farpoint bundle earlier this year and have zero regrets

I see where they have tracked some silver trophies recently, but it says 0 points next to them. I guess no more 100 points for 100 silver trophies or 250 points for 25 gold trophies.

UGHHHHHHH.
Welcome to my world. I did the exact same thing.
I gave them a call and they are going to merge the accounts to the email on psn. They said everything needs to fall under the same email address now or something. Guess they didn't think about every scenario. Anyway, I was told I wouldn't lose my points and they should show up shortly. Figure I will call again on Tuesday if they don't show up by then.
Currently it shows zero points, with zero options for passes. Pretty frustrating.

No, they're going to return once they have the revamped Rewards Passes ready in the near future along with other passes they'll be adding to the mix. They're just not actively shown at the moment.

I'm even more excited about my impending journey into VR. They're making another Gungrave. I loved that game on PS2 and it's coming out next month.

I'm more worried about this becoming something other states will want to adopt. I think they are the 3rd for 4th state, so this is concerning.
Fortunately it’s just the city of Chicago itself and not the entire state. But yes, it could become a worrying trend.

They just discontinued trophies for rewards points lol. Kind of glad. Crappy rewards system. I never got to do it. Never knew I had to unlock passes first. Shady moves on Sony. Glad the system was abused and cancelled.

I am signed up for notifications from Sony and never knew a program exist, just heard about it through social media.

Where are you reading this, even a google search isn't confirming this? And just because you didn't figure out how to unlock passes doesn't make it a crappy system. Being rewarded for trophies was fantastic and if it is truly cancelled, this is a major blow.

Edit: Found the thread on resetera and it is confirmed in their terms and conditions. This fucking sucks!!

Trophy Pass: The Trophy Pass program has been discontinued. Sony Rewards members will not be able to unlock a new Trophy Pass after October 29, 2018. For Sony Rewards members that unlocked a Trophy Pass prior to October 29, 2018, you may continue earning Sony Rewards points through the Trophy Pass program until November 7, 2019, at which time the program will be permanently discontinued for all Sony Rewards members.

What a stupid attitude. Just because you never got to earn any, then nobody should?

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: #fuck2018. CAGs have lost so much this year, from Amazon Prime discounts, Best Buy GCU, Toys 'R' Us, GameStop Elite Pro, and PSN state taxes charging up the wazoo. Such a shitty thing for Sony to do without even warning people first. All they said was they were revamping the Rewards program and making it "better." What a load of bull malarkey. Of course they would take something beneficial away from us. Next will be once they reduce the benefits of PS+ from 6 games to 2 next year. The current trend seems to be pay more, get less. So much for being a trophy hunter now. It was fun while it lasted.

Couldn't agree more, I posted this on resetera:

Just discovered this thread after reading about the discontinuation of trophy passes on CAG. I have easily earned over $200 in PSN credit thanks to this program and am super bummed that they are deciding to discontinue this. Sony is really doing a lot to piss off us hardcore fans. Censoring games, slow to adapt to the industry like not allowing things like EA Access and cross play, limiting reward, etc. They better watch out or Microsoft is going to pull another 360 on them. Their studio acquisitions alone should give Sony pause let alone Game Pass really does parallel the PS3 version of PS+ and could be an ace in the hole for the generation transition about to take place. Plus Microsoft rewards program seems to be far more robust then what Sony offered especially now that Trophy passes are gone. Damn this pisses me off!

Also we are just a couple months from PS+ discontinuing free games for both PS3 and Vita so that is also going to be severely gimped soon. Sony making more money than ever and shitting on their customers seems like a great move to be making when we are about to transition to a new generation. Arrogant Sony is back.

Well I don't know if this worth mentioning or having its very own thread, but Family Dollar has 10% off PlayStation Store gift cards until the Nov. 14.  I'm guessing Family Dollar deals are a regional thing like Dollar General, so YMMV.

I expected the trophy passes to end. One, I'm guessing after one year promotions have to be extended, and within months I think Sony would have felt the trophy passes were too good in our favor. Two, before Sony Rewards came down for the redesign they never specifically mentioned the trophy passes. Though they did make sure to tell us we would still earn points on purchases made while the site was down.

In a seven month period I earned 1600 reward points. $16 of the $20 PSN credit I redeemed came from just the trophy passes (the other $4 came from points from PSN purchases). I think the trophy passes were great. Especially if you have a big backlog and a big PS+ catalogue. It was fun looking at my library to see which golds and even platinums could be cherrypicked.

It sucks the promotion ended, but I'm not too upset because I figured it would end after a year. Plus, after completing my last round of passes I didn't focus on trophy hunting that much. Then over the past two months I unlocked almost no new trophies because I was playing games I already got the platinum for. And now I'm playing Witcher 3, so I won't be unlocking trophies in fast fashion.

Looking at my completed games this year, I beat eighteen games, and only one of them didn't have trophies. Now that the passes have ended I might get back to more of my Xbox 360 backlog.

These are the games I got the platinum for while the promotion was running.
Bioshock
Bioshock Infinite
Color Guardians
Conan Exiles
Drakenguard 3
Final Fantasy XV
The Invisiible Hours
Mafia III
Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV
Mortal Blitz
Nier: Automata
Rime
Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash
Until Dawn

Shouldn't Sony make an official announcement at least? Those answering phones at Sony Rewards don't seem to know. Also, the dates mentioned above seem a bit weird. So, if you start a pass in Oct. 2018, you have a year? Why not just say the passes end Nov. 2019, regardless of sign-up? Just trying to be optimistic...

Couldn't agree more on the industry giving gamers the shaft lately, especially Sony. There was a lot I didn't like about them before, but this year they really showed how much of a fuck they don't give for customers.

Oh, I thought the passes were already dead. I didn't read 2019 properly, and thought it was 2018. I was thinking it was really screwed up that the announcement was talking about past dates as the last chance to earn points. It makes more sense now.

Well, at least the four extra platinums I unlocked can still go towards a pass. I have a year to unlock six platinums. My silver pass needs less than twenty-five trophies, and I'm probably halfway through the gold pass.

They aren't saying passes end November 2019 regardless of sign up because over the next year they aren't allowing any new passes to start. They're simply giving any passes that were active before the change one year to be completed.

I get that, it just seems like way too much time. They could just simply end it with 2018. All passes must be completed by the new year. People will be pissed either way.

There might be some kind of protocol thing for promotions. If a promotion is canceled you get a heads up for a certain amount of time.

Just giving until the end of the year is arbitrary. If a promotion ends in April we'd get eight months. If it ends in November we get one month. One year might just be what they decided on for when anything like this happens.

Also, if the promotion was going to run year to year they might have decided after cancellation announcement they're going to continue with the scheduled clock reset for the trophy passes that are still active.

Well, when there is an official announcement (has there been one?), we'll know more I guess. Right now, this whole scenario is stupidly frustrating.

The terms page on the Rewards sites says the promotion has been discontinued. That is an official announcement. Maybe Sony Rewards will send out e-mails repeating the same line.

It seems pretty straightforward to me. Sony probably canned it because it was awarding too many points, and now they're giving any passes that were still active one year to wrap up.

Changing the terms of a program isn't really an announcement, but they didn't really advertise it anyway. I thought maybe there was an email I missed our something. Maybe Sony will have something else to roll out rather than just taking things away... Ha.

PSVR people, how good is the Aim Controller? Currently crazy expensive and wondering if I should keep my eyes open for a sale.
If you are a rainbow six rogue fan watch a bunch of FirewallZero vids on YouTube. It's pretty much a good and functional barebones implementation of that game in VR. Only game I can think of on PSVR that has an active player base months after launch. Outside of that and farpoint I've been kinda dissapointed in it's integration though it does support over a half dozen games with more announced support.

I don't know how people managed to take advantage of the trophy rewards thing.  Were there like a bunch of games that had easy to get trophies and you could do them over and over again?

Someone posted on resetera that you could buy shovelware games for $1 or $2 that had a short platinum. Then you could share on sub accounts. Do this with 10 games on 10 accounts and you get $200 in platinums alone.

Still seems like a ton of work to game the system though and honestly an easy fix for Sony could have been to only let the purchaser account earned trophies count as rewards. Better than scrapping the whole program anyway.

ProTip: I did this thing called playing games. You guys should try it sometime.

Protip. The Trophy rewards system is discontinued because people abused it. And they gave too many rewards points for the trophy passes.

I have 19 platinum trophies and IMO it was a crappy rewards system. Club Nintendo was millions of times better.

Most people didn't even know this rewards program exist, and the ones that did many of them couldn't figure out how to unlock the trophy passes.

Like myself I thought all your earned trophies were counting toward points. This was a poorly executed rewards system.
