Bethesda Press Conferences notes:

  • Rage 2 is out Spring 2019. Gameplay demo looked like Doom meets Bulletstorm.
  • Elder Scrolls: Legends (ccg) is coming to PS4 later this year. Any progress you have with the PC/mobile game carries over to the console versions.
  • Doom Eternal is the sequel to Doom. Hell on Earth, double the demons, and more details at QuakeCon.
  • Prey is getting an update tonight to add a Story mode, New Game+, and a Survival mode.
  • They're also making an expansion set on the Moon called Prey Mooncrash.
  • Prey's also getting a multiplayer mode called Typhon Hunter, which is Prop Hunt in Prey.
  • Wolfenstein II has an expansion coming in 2019 called Wolfenstein Youngblood, which stars BJ's twin daughters in the 80's. It also supports co-op.
  • Not sure if they're on PSVR, but they announced two VR games, one set in Prey and the other in Wolfenstein.
  • "It's our mission to let you beat the fuck out of Nazis on every platform."
  • Fallout 76 is an online game. You can play solo, do quests, level up, and all that. The world won't be full of other players since it's still an apocalypse. You won't love [major] progress or your character if you die.
  • Fallout 76 is out 11/14 with a crazy special edition (glow in the dark map, figures to put on the map, wearable power armor helmet, and the game).
  • Fallout Shelter is out tonight for free.
  • They're also working on Starfield, a sci-fi single-player RPG for next-gen.
  • Also, The Elder Scrolls VI is after that.

Crackdown 3 is not out on that day. It just has a general February release date.
best buy lists it as 2/22, but amazon has 2/28

I'd guess at least half slip from that date, if not more. Will be interesting to see.
EA should pull Anthem, at least if its true how much stake it has for the future of bioware, MS will keep crackdown there to try and steal thunder from days gone.

I'm super hyped just from that short Elder Scrolls 6 teaser.

I'm a bit iffy about Fallout 76, simply because I'm an antisocial gamer. I guess I'll have to wait and see what it's like in the future and just how solo friendly it is.

The people who planned Bethesda's E3 conference need a stern scolding for that Andrew WK performance...that was awful, imo.

Thankfully they said Fallout 76 will have a beta, I don't mind the online aspect of the game (actually as someone with a lot of friends who like Fallout I expect it to be a fun time) but hopefully the beta will give us some good insight to the game.

As for the performance, not the cringiest thing we've ever seen at E3 but it was certainly pretty lame. In their defense though with the game leaking and them having to put out the trailer for Rage 2 early maybe they had something entirely different planned for that time.

Tesla vs Lovecraft Mini review

This dual stick shooter is by the same people that brought us the amazing crimsonland, as well as neon Chrome, jydge, Etc. It has the familiar dual stick feel common to their other games, though UPS the ante on Style and atmosphere by having you play a tricked-out Tesla versus the many creatures of Lovecraft.

Gameplay, as expected, is Damn solid. It has the same great perk selection introduced by crimsonland. Basically, it's a natural evolution of their other games and in many ways is there smoothest attempt since many of their other games feel so modular. Where their other games always had an almost boxy feel, for lack of a better way to describe it, this one feels a bit more alive, although it still straightforward Arena based duel stick shooting. While there are lots of obstacles, it has a more open outdoor feel like crimsonland had, not a series of rooms like judge and neon Chrome.

They removed the upgrade system found in neon Chrome and judge, but left a different system in it's place. Ultimately, I think I liked this system better, although the other system felt a little bit meatier.

Platinum is straightforward and simple... Basically if you beat all the levels you'll have the Platinum. That's it. Unlike judge and neon Chrome there's no secret rooms or secret levels. And that's the games biggest failing, in a way... I'm really good at dual stick shooters and had my plat in like two sittings. It's not that it was easy, because the later levels are difficult, they're just not that difficult if it's your genre of choice. I put a lot more play time into their other games.

At the end of the day, this is probably their most polished game. It calls out to be played. It feels like a solid arcade game, complete and ready to play, where some of their other games felt more like love songs for the dedicated fan.

I definitely recommend picking this up, and if you enjoy it,buy the rest of their games too.

I feel the same way. I get enough social interaction here and at work. I don't need it in my video games. :D I'm disappointed in the direction they're going with 76 but I'll give the beta a fair shot.

He was pretty clear that you could play solo if you wanted.
There are several multiplayer-focused games you can play solo that aren't really much fun that way. Gonna give it a fair chance like I said but my hopes are not high.

I can't imagine not having friends to play co op games with. I enjoy a good single player experience as well, but it would be very disappointing to miss out on so many great multiplayer/co-op titles.

will their be mods ? fallout can be made to play differently six ways to sunday. mods that add new areas, monster, increase perks, etc all those may go poof or behind a pay wall if they use creation club.

always online is good to stop pirates playing but what if my Internets down? will it say sorry you cannot play single player? or is it just a one time check then do whatever you want which i would be fine with.

they showed a lot stuff and am interested in playing in the game but then remain vague on things that make me lose interest not looking for the next GTA online and pushing that as the future of are games remember shark cards sell very well...

I doubt there will be mods due to the online nature of the game. I am not too big into mods mainly because they usually invalidate trophies/achievements but if there won't be mods, that will be a big turnoff for some.

By the way, Rocket League is doing something cool in about an hour:

Feels surreal to have "next gen" teaser when I still have a PS3 backlog...
And PSP, PS Vita, PSVR...
Amateurs. I have a backlog going back to the original Playstation and Gameboy Advance.
I still haven't completed the original Legend of Zelda and I owned that back in 1990. That's a fucking backlog.

I can't imagine not having friends

I can't imagine not having friends to play co op games with. I enjoy a good single player experience as well, but it would be very disappointing to miss out on so many great multiplayer/co-op titles.
It has nothing to do with not having friends to play games with. I have friends. I just prefer to play games at my own pace. I like not having to rely on them being online for when I want to play. I'm also not very verbally chatty.

I'm sure if I were to do it, that randoms would be okay with the first 2 things, but maybe not the latter. Which is why I don't bother. I also don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. So it's okay.

Chatting during co op is half the enjoyment. If you have friends I don't know why you would even entertain the idea of randoms. Friends actually allow you to play at your own pace, or at least the ones that are worth playing with. And you can enter the world and play alone while waiting for your friends to get online or if you're feeling antisocial for the day. You aren't at their mercy.

I usually play games long after my friends have played them. Case in point, I'm currently playing through Assassin's Creed: Unity. Any friends I have who own it probably played it when it came out. Other times, playing with friends leads to not getting the full experience; I tried playing Borderlands with a friend and he zoomed through all the story moments, so I ended up missing them. Destiny was not fun because he was majorly leveled so he blasted through all my enemies and I just followed him around doing nothing. And there's also different tastes in games. I don't like crafting in games, but I have one friend who kept trying to get me to play Ark, Monster Hunter World and now Conan. Unless it's Overwatch, which tends to be with randoms, it's usual single player for me unless I need an online trophy.

I don't think any of my real-life friends have a PS4. We also all have kids so finding time to sit down and play a game together would be hard. I play The Last of Us with my online friends late at night whenever I have a chance.

I dislike having my first time through be co-op with most games. For example, Borderlands 2, I need to solo every mission before I can play with others, because otherwise I miss all the cutscenes and dialogue. I find that true for most game experiences. I have fun playing co-op with games meant for like Borderlands or alienation, but feel like I'm missing out if I don't do it solo first

I usually play games like Borderlands solo by myself for the first time. Last co-op I did without playing the story myself first was one of the Call of Duty games. As you said the other guy blasted through it and I had not clue what was going on. Figured out I really didn't care and didn't bother finishing the story mode.

But once the initial play is out of the way I really like playing through again with friends.

ETA: or what affa said.

[customspoiler='On MP/co-op with friends']Having social anxiety, what you think is easy and simple when it comes to co-op and MP with friends is hard and sometimes nightmarish for me. I have plenty of friends, but spontaneously partnering up with them is hard for me to initiate. It's a lot easier to just matchmake into whatever with randoms because I don't know them and don't have to worry about talking or any residual effects. I also mostly end up playing random games at random times for random amounts of time, so there aren't many times where I'm just playing whatever the current co-op/MP hotness is hoping for friends to join in. It doesn't work out well for me. :([/customspoiler]

I'm with you there. Last weekend, I discovered that I had bought 48 PS3 games during GameStop's buy four used games for $10 sales over the past two years. Perhaps that's why I was underwhelmed during the Xbox E3 Mixer stream yesterday. I kept thinking that I will probably die before trying them all and that I didn't need any new games. And I don't even have a terminal disease or anything.

Yeah I realize this a lot, especially doing all my Indiegala impressions. There is lots and lots of games, and frankly a lot are alright or maybe just a bit OK or even good, but I don't have that time.

I need to keep doing my 10-15 minute daily new game idea from my Steam backlog, as it gets game played, and it makes me really appreciate the ones I do like.

There is just a lot of stuff that doesn't gel with everyone, and that's OK.

My love of basic RPGs is starting to go away little by little with many feeling more repetitive than anything.

Course the most important thing is to try to play the games if you like them.....that's where the fun is. Sorry for the rant.

I know it's sacrilege to admit this during E3 season, but this might actually be my last generation. I didn't really see much that I'm interested in playing going forward when I watched Microsoft's stream yesterday, and I don't think that Sony is going to show me much. I don't care about the Switch at all. Granted, I will probably keep buying games if and when they're cheap, but I think I'm just getting burned out now. Been playing Fallout: New Vegas lately and loving it. The last gen graphics don't bother me. The idea of Fallout 76 doesn't really appeal to me.

Are we talking about mortality now? Because yeah, there's no possible way I can play the games I currently own in my natural lifetime, let alone all the games I WANT to play. That's not even factoring in the constant stream of games that keeps getting released at the current pace and I'm not even including consoles I don't own like Xbox or Switch. The only thing I can hope for is some sort of apocalyptic cataclysmic event that I end up surviving, or some kind of "time freezing" scenario where I can just catch up on everything that's come before. That would take three whole lifetimes, at least.

Since December 2016, I haven't play many games. I mean as in playing a moderate amount of time.

Titanfall 2, cod IW/MWR(campaign), Horizon, Nier, nights of azure, cod WW2 and that might have been it on PS4.

I've bought way more games and haven't even touched them....

TF2 is the only game I play 3-5 times a week, I don't play much else.
