ps4 slim wise ive never had it get loud outside when it is reading old dvds.  Watching bewitched on it and it sounded like a can opener when it boots up.  Other than that perfectly silent.

I probably at least need to get a slim if not a Pro at some point.

Aesthetically, I like the slim better than the fat original. The controller is also better, and it's great size-wise. But the vents are oddly placed on both sides which is why it isn't a good choice if you wanted to set it on its side to save space. As long as mine lasts, I'll be satisfied with it. My main concern with my slim is that it will get ruined internally because of the heat it generates or my place will be burned down. I'm only concerned because I smelled the overwhelming odor of burnt plastic the other day. I've been buying Sony systems since the original PlayStation and that's never happened before.

Glad others are comparing their Pros to the sound of a 747. I mentioned that issue with normal PS4 fatty with some games and Frisky and a few others jumped down my throat. It does get loud with some games.

Love my PS4 for exclusives but my Xbox One X (and the S before it) never get that loud.
What the hell are you talking about?

Nothing else popped this weekend that tickled my fancy, so I guess I'm using my code for Nier, Tokyo Xanadu ex+ and Yu-gi-oh.

I guess any game following God of War was bound to feel disappointing. Even though I liked it, and it has a great unique story, I think Hellblade is severely overrated. Combat is serviceable (although I kept reverting to GoW's controls), but the rune puzzles were repetitive and dull and I found other aspects of gameplay buggy. There are many parallels however (especially the concept of following one character over the shoulder through the course of the story with no "cuts") and the Norse backdrop proved to be a great substitute for listening to Mimir's stories. All that schizophrenic whispering in my ear gave me anxiety though, but I guess that was the point. I think my memory of the experience will probably treat it kinder.

Looks like I'm going to have to play it over from scratch for the plat (*sigh*) because I missed like 5 lorestones.

I'm on a roll with these Norse mythology games. I also have Jotun in my backlog but I may have to switch it up at this point.

If you missed anything, you can get it later on. There is nothing miss-able and everything can be collected after the story. If you are going to platinum it, your biggest issue, at least it was for me, is the final Valkyrie.

If there is anyone not planning to use a 20% code before this sale runs out, please send me a PM.  That would be very much appreciated.  Thanks.

I have a question about the Mega Man collection.  The only console games I ever played was 9 and 10 on the PS3 and I thought those were tough, (at least I think I though that, maybe I never played that far or tried).

However, I've played the original, I guess, in the arcade and was good enough at it.

So........

Is Mega Man a hard game in general?

Are 9 & 10 a more difficult, uh, difficulty?

Are Mega Man 9 & 10 easy and I just no longer have any skills, so I would probably suck at 1 through 6?

The original Mega Man make series, prior to 9 & 10, are not difficult at all. I think when developing MM9, they got too wrapped up in the whole "Nintendo Hard" trope, that they decided that they must make those games that way. I grew up with the original games and throught they were a cakewalk. But I got frustrated just trying to play MM9. I don't even think I completed it myself.

Sold.  I've buying it then.  Thanks.

Sorry to everyone as I was just about to give away my 20% coupon when I noticed MM.

Yeah, I would say that earlier MM games were actually hard, particularly the levels that required precise platforming. Maybe 4-6 were easier, as I beat [pun intended] the snot out of 6 when I was a kid. So, I guess it couldn't have been that hard.

Played some the Defiance 2050 beta, which definitely feels like the original. It controls well, looks fine, and has a good sense of ambient co-op when you can just team up with random players in the world to complete missions or events that pop up without having to go through matchmaking or anything like that up front. The big benefit it'll have this time around compared to the original is being free-to-play from the start. I'll have to double check if video capture is allowed in this closed beta, as I'll make one to show it off if that's allowed.

The PixelJunk Monster 2 demo is good and about what I expected from it. They only include one level in it with two difficulties, so there's not a ton to it. The 3D art style looks great and it provides for some nice changes in terrain design with hills and such to change how you get around with the jump button. The behind-the-back view is not useful at all, so that doesn't really add much to the game. Everything else is largely the same as in the original, though I miss the button to show level progress for each tower around you to see where you should dance.

I grabbed the new Slayaway Camp bundle that is on sale for $7.49 right now and the game is really good. It's a puzzle game where you move your horror movie killer around the level to take out the teens, cops, or whatever in each stage that acts as a scene in a typical horror movie. The puzzles get very devious later on and I've gotten stuck a few times before realizing the solution to take everybody out and get out of the stage. It includes tons of references to the big boys of the genre along with smaller movies and characters, which gives it a lot of content to unlock and enjoy. The bundle also comes with the soundtrack, which is great.

Thanks, Frisky. I have been considering the vanilla Android version of Slayaway Camp for my Shield TV. The regular price is only $3 there, but there's no added content. But much like every other Android user, I've been waiting for a sale.

People don't like to PM codes for some reason. Apparently it's too much work and much more noble to just to post it for lurkers.
I understand your complaint but whenever I give away codes and I make sure to PM them so lurkers don’t snatch them I’m either 1. Never even so much as thanked, just totally ignored after the code is used or 2. Someone requests the code, I PM it, the code isn’t touched and the PM goes unviewed until it nearly expires and I say screw it and try to give the code (usually a 20% discount) to someone who really does want it and can make use of it. Then I get an apology for a late reply almost always within an hour of the codes expiration. So now I avoid all of it and post directly to the forum so atleast SOMEONE is getting a use of a free code I was nice enough to give away without having to jump through hoops. I know it sucks when lurkers snatch codes but they are human beings too and they’re guaranteed to make use of the codes because it really bothers me to see those discounts go to waste!

ps4 slim wise ive never had it get loud outside when it is reading old dvds. Watching bewitched on it and
...

I can’t believe this passed without a single comment.

Last day of the 20% coupon. What are you buying?

I’m looking for feedback because the games I’m looking ahead to still aren’t out (Tacoma, Super Mega Baseball 2).

Are you upset at people for not giving away their codes in your preferred format?
No, I've never asked for a free code. I simply find it amusing and/or confusing that there will be a string of regulars asking for a code if nobody is using it and then someone will just post one for all to see that 99% of the time goes to a lurker is all. It takes like 5 seconds to PM something.

I do agree it's better for someone to use it than go to waste and appreciate your explanation as you make good points.

Love my PS4 for exclusives but my Xbox One X (and the S before it) never get that loud.
I'd be surprised an Xbox One X would be loud when off too.

As for sales, I bought (for those looking for ideas)

Earth Defense Force 2 ($6.39)

Moon Hunters ($3.59)

Absolute Drift ($3.83)

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life ($4.79)

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters Daybreak Special Gigs ($9.59)

2064: Read Only Memories ($7.99)

Gravity Rush Remastered ($7.19)

Cosmic Star Heroine ($5.99)

Tears to Tiara II ($7.90)

Been waiting for a >50% sale on several of them for a long time, so I went all in.

They feel entitled to someone else's' property because of their post count. I would like to take it a step further since we're making up the rules as we go so my feeling don't get hurt too. 1. No codes for whiny people. 2. Codes for people who do the actual work on CAG and not the ones who feel entitled because they've posted BS on their favorite subject. 3. No BEGGING, NO CODES FOR BEGGARS (IT's annoying) Regulars? Without the "regular' lurkers there would be no CAG, go ahead and do WTF you want to do with your property. I for one WILL NEVER PM A CODE DUE TO THE WHINING OF the "I think I'm entitled to your stuff becasue I make the rules" crowd. I just think they're children and they need to talk to an adult.

Thinking of picking up the digital version of Gravity Rush Remastered with the 20% off coupon - I think this is the only physical release I own that's actually considered rare / collectible ($150 on Amazon for New)?
