This is the most hipster thing I've ever seen in this thread. Did you grow a beard after writing it? How well does the man bun fit underneath that plaid trilby?

Well, not everyone listens to classic rock or adult contemporary.

I mean I know the song because I’m almost 50 but I listen to alternative rock and so do my kids so they’ll never hear it in my house or cars. Not saying I didn’t like it back in the day though.

I do listen to classic rock, and I think Hotel California is extremely overplayed and overrated.  There are so many great Eagles/Don Henley songs out there, yet this is the one the station plays almost on repeat.  Don't get me wrong, it's a decent enough song and I quote parts of it myself too, but it's length makes it a tiresome song to listen to as often as it's played.

My girlfriend and I were on a roadtrip a couple weeks ago and I had my iPod attached to the car to provide the music (since the radio cut out once we traveled far enough from home.)  I put my playlist of 4 and 5-star rated songs on shuffle, and my girlfriend does not have the same taste in music that I do, so within 30 seconds of a lot of my songs, she would ask me to skip to the next song.  When she asked me to skip Hotel California, it was the only one I was in agreement about skipping because I didn't want to spend the next six an a half minutes listening to it.

Of course he is. The answer is always the same each time the question presents itself. We are all just prisoners here...of our own device.

Welcome to the Hotel California.
You're referencing the wrong song when talking about Burnout Paradise:

I’m the same way. I do appreciate it for being a classic but like you I’m into alternative rock mostly and I used to drive atleast half of my work shift everyday for a couple years and they played that damn song literally every single night at the same time on the radio. It’s really not THAT good haha

So much for converting NBA Live 19 to digital... Unless it's some sort of glitch it's gone back up to full price. I traded in my physical copy at Gamestop to get a PSN card to pay for it. :wall:

Edit: Sorry for the sudden whining, just had a moment there. I am seriously hoping it's just a glitch that will be fixed soon.

Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne is my favorite song by far to drive with in Burnout Paradise.

It's listed as such on the official website.
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/explore/ps4-portal/ps4-portal-ps-plus/

Wouldn't it be amazing if they started the trend of announcing them a month in advance? It would help promote PS+, particularly after March when we're only down to two "free" titles a month; between XBL Gold and Game Pass, Xbox owners gets access to 10 new games every month.
Yeah, but announcing early only works when you have something good to offer. Also, having less to offer only works when it's good stuff. Announcing the October PS Plus games would have done nothing for them. Hopefully, November is a good sign of what's to come in the future if they recognize there should be an increase in quality if they are reducing the quantity they are giving.

I just realized that Live 19 isn't the only game to be removed from the EA sale, Madden 19 was pulled as well. Odd indeed...
I don't think Madden was on sale, was it?

Was the Live price a glitch? So weird that they pulled it so soon, but even if it was just a mistake, now there's no way anyone's going to pay full price for it now. Saves me some money, I guess.

Yeah, I'm imagining things as far as Madden being on sale. I'm definitely waiting for a sale on Live because I refuse to pay full price after getting it physical for $40 at launch. Just wish I would gone with my gut instinct and not traded it in yesterday.

Gone now?

Unless I’m seeing something else..

Children of zodiarc

Just got the Platinum. If you like SRPG's, card games, or dice this is a definite Buy. Each of your characters develop its own deck and you can hold up to seven cards at a time per character.

What's really cool is you throw dice to modify the cards. You start with two dice but can level character up to 6, but with other modifiers and Buffs and debuffs you can literally throw 17 dice at the same time. You can reroll two of them once, and there's a lot of strategy in that decision at times, as you balance risks vs Rewards.

While at first glance it might seem like throwing dice adds too much luck to the game, they really just sort of modify your roll. Sure, you might not get what you want every time but the dice will never wreck your game or your turn.

Cards level up with your players, and one of the places this game really succeeds is that you really feel character progression overtime. Every level up feels big for the first 40 or 50 levels. Cards can level up in lots of different ways, from better range to special effects if you get certain die rolls, and more. Eventually there's also a bit of crafting, as you win dice overtime. Most dice have 3 sides locked, but you can destroy inventory dice to custom make your own sides on your favorite dice.

If I have one gameplay complaint it's that I felt like I relied too much on comboing turns together. That is, through various means you can play additional cards for certain characters. By the end I could easily play 20 cards in a row if I wanted to. Although that does feel bad ass in its own way.

I played on the most difficult level. Enemies level with you and it's always a decent challenge until you're so o p at the end it doesn't matter. It's nice, you never really feel like you need to grind but if you want to it doesn't hurt the game.

My biggest complaint was the story. It felt like well-written drivel. I'm not sure if that makes sense. But it felt like the writer had the talent to string words together well but nothing worth saying. Characters were motivationally bankrupt.

Still, I had a blast over all.

You mean you’re not going to get the PS5 ReRemaster?!
For Burnout Paradise? I'll gladly buy it again every gen. That was the game that kept on giving. So many patches and free DLC drops. It just went on and on and on, the developers really treated their customers right. Add in a bang on game. Now I just want another one

Ever play Criterion's Need For Speed: Most Wanted? It's not quite as good, but still the closest thing that exists to a direct sequel to Burnout Paradise.

Still prefer Burnout Revenge. Always have. Always will. Just love the speed and arcade feel over the open world of Paradise. That just isn’t the same to me.

Revenge was my fave for years, but Paradise slowly grew on me over years, and now I think I love them equally. But definitely count me a big fan of Revenge's traffic checking mechanic, always wished they hadn't abandoned that... or at least re-released Revenge for modern consoles.

Yeah, I've platted every mgs except for the run. I wish both series were running in tandem. I really like arcade Racers done right.

Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne is my favorite the only song by far to drive with in Burnout Paradise.
Epic / faith no more and rockstar/ nerd

Me too. Revenge was near perfection. No crash mode is a big reason I prefer Revenge as well.

For me, the official Burnout rankings:

1. Burnout Paradise

2. Burnout 3: Takedown

3. Burnout Revenge

All are good, but BP is on another level and puts all open world racing games to shame in the 10 years since then.

On the fence for unravel 2. On one hand I think me and my wife will enjoy it. On the other it keeps dropping and looks like a prime candidate for next month's plus offering.

Also those new deals frisky just posted... Literally the first time I've heard of every one of those games. Man PS store and eshop are as bad as steam and smartphone app stores

Most, and maybe nearly all, of those games seem to be on sale every other week.  I don't know if anyone buys them but their names always show up.

Wow. Milking that for every last cent. I mean Kingdom Hearts III isn’t even out yet and you release yet another compilation on the same platform? Kind of an insult to those who bought the other two.
Prices go down over time, so I don't know how that's a negative thing. The bundle is because the game is out in a few months for those that haven't gotten the individual collections yet.

thx. So is this everKingdon Hearts up until now?
The compilation includes the following games:

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX

  • KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
  • KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories
  • KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
  • KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
  • KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep Final MIX

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 FINAL CHAPTER PROLOGUE

  • KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–
  • KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover (movie)

Don't know if I want something called "The Story so Far" on my shelf but I'll be happy to pick that KH collection up digitally, never got around to buying 2.8.

What's an appropriate age for a child to watch me play KH?
For the most part KH is as scary as any Disney movie, but the boss fights can be really intense. If they can watch this (early boss fight)

without freaking out they're good to go.

If you're talking about the age to understand it don't bother-no one understands Kingdom Hearts.

Kid dependent. I've been very careful to keep my kid away from anything too violent, but we did let him start playing Lego games at 4. That has people getting beat up but they're just Legos. He was allowed to play the fights during Nino Kuni at around four and a half. He's well aware it's all animation, xcetera. We are currently playing Dragon Quest 11 together.

That said, some of his friends that are his age I wouldn't let near anything like that because they already act out.

So to answer your question directly, given no other information, I think a well parented 4 year old that understands what a game is and doesn't have tendency to act out is fine with it, as long as you're sitting there with them.

During the 3s and early fours we found that any amount of electronics led to massive meltdowns. Let him play for half an hour and it was a meltdown if you tried to turn it off, and 3 days fights about letting him play again. That's all gone now. He politely asks when he wants to play and doesn't break down if we say no.
