I know how you feel. I got it for 20% off from Best Buy but I still wish I would have waited since it's one of the few games I stopped playing due to bugs. Not sure if I'll ever get back to it either unless they can get it into a properly working state by June or July.

Off the top of my head:

  • Camera's a bit too zoomed in, so you can easily lose site of things happening off-screen if you're not running around constantly.
  • No button to view upgrade progress on all towers to see if nearby towers can be upgraded quickly.
  • Behind-the-back view isn't useful for much of anything other than just looking around.
  • It can sometimes be hard to tell where flying enemies are at in relation to your towers since they don't fly over the paths.
  • It can be a little too easy to get caught up on trees or other obstacles around a stage when trying to get around quickly.
  • Shield smash move is hard to pull off.
  • You don't really get any info on whether a tower's upgrade is going to expand range or power beforehand.
  • No post-level charts on how well you did.
  • The fruits aren't that interesting of a mechanic and throwing them doesn't work too well.
  • I get a couple of framerate hitches per stage attempt, which doesn't affect my ability to play it anyway.
  • I'd like to see a better guide for the towers to explain their stats, abilities, and all that.
PixelJunk Monsters is kind of a near perfect tower defense game for me that's up there with Plants vs Zombies and Defense Grid/2 as kings of the genre. PixelJunk Monsters 2 is close, but just needs some fine-tuning of its rough edges to make it really shine.

I'll probably have a video for PixelJunk Monsters 2 up tomorrow.

Yeah, I was hoping for a discount code before they disappear. I own Seasons 1 & 2 on PS3/Vita and PS4, and Season 7 on PS4 (price glitch, yay). That leaves tables from Seasons 3, 4, 5, & 6 for me to consider.

Did some research:

Seasons consists of multiple packs (usually 10), with each pack containing usually 1, sometimes 2 tables.

Each season costs $29.99. Each pack costs $4.99. (PS3/Vita and PS4 are NOT cross buy).

S3 (10 tables total): 8 of 10 packs contain a Williams or Bally table.

S4 (10): 8 of 10

S5 (11): 6 of 10

S6 (12): 5 of 11

So, if all the W. or B. tables are desired, buying the seasons is the most cost effective (S6: only save $5 but lose out on half the tables). And besides, only ten items in the cart at a time.

Is there a limit to the number of items you can purchase in a single transaction on PSN? I've never really had cause to buy more than three or four at a time before.
 
Considering using my 20% off coupon on Dark Souls Remastered. Anybody have any thoughts on it? I’ve never really played a souls game before, but I love bloodborne and Nioh.

I think you'd like Dark Souls, you just have to remember it's paced a bit slower than Bloodborne. While you can be aggressive in Dark Souls, it's not an emphasis like in Bloodborne. You're also not able to fast travel until a decent chunk into the game. However, that's not always a bad thing, Dark Souls has a pretty fleshed out world to explore. Totally worth the price if you're even an inkling of a fan of the "Souls" genre.

Thinking of using my 20% off on Hellblade. Any thoughts? I've been wanting to play it for some time now. Worth the $16ish price? Also any chance it'll ever get a physical release? I'd hold out for that

Hellblade has held stubbornly at $20.99 for awhile now. I'm sure it's due to drop soon but I think it's a worthy purchase. A bit overrated (a few of the puzzles are confusing/repetitive and the fighting is weak), but it has a unique story. It's destined to be an LRG at some point.

While I'm blatantly recommending stuff, let me just say that I completed Observer earlier this week and it's pretty great. (Also, SOMA, but that's not on sale at the moment.)

I also really have to make the case for Detroit: Become Human. It might be my personal GOTY so far. If you love interactive drama (especially Beyond: Two Souls), it's remarkably poignant and damn near perfect. Kind of Blade Runner meets Westworld meets Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier. Had I known about the Deluxe Edition containing Heavy Rain for only $10 more and the timing of this month's 20% off coupon, I would have bought the digital version instead for $56. Who knows if Heavy Rain will ever get discounted on its own.

I have a lot more to say about Detroit, but I'll save it until after I get the platinum (which seems to be about as time-consuming as Beyond was).

Thanks, though I accidentally signed up for some kind of trial a while back when I was trying to cancel my way out of the inevitable PS+ ads you get at the start of every multiplayer-enabled PS4 game. I noticed I had the PS+ prices, but there wasn't anything I wanted, and I don't even do multiplayer, so that was a total waste. And just from hitting X instead of O. It looks like I can't take advantage of any other trials, then?

I'm not bitter.
 
I redeemed $10 in PSN credit via Sony Rewards on 5/24 and still haven't gotten the code. Has anyone else had it take this long?

Was asking about this earlier in the thread. I am debating about doing the same. How do you like this game? Is it worth it at that price? I've been starting to get into Blazblue and Guilty Gear recently and am intrigued with this title.

Same since I already have Xcom 2 and Trials Fusion on Xbone. But I will readily admit that even though it’s not a good month for me, it’s still a much better month for PS4 than X1 with that Smite crap.

yeah that smite crap and similar type stuff can get lost

but in recent memory both consoles have had decent offerings so it all evens out I guess, can't win every month
