Is that planet of the apes game any good? Always meant to check it out.
It’s an interactive movie where you mostly choose between two options and direct the story (not unlike a Telltale game), but it’s kind of slow-moving and doesn’t really hold up after one playthrough (replay is a bitch). However, if you’re a fan of the movies, it tells a pretty solid story.

This is out of left field, but Upgrade is fucking awesome. It really hit the spot after Detroit.

Does anyone feel like putting together their top 10 list of must have tables that are going away?

Medieval Madness is a must-have. Arguably the best table of all time, easy to learn but with tons of stuff to do.

Twilight Zone, Star Trek, T2, Addams Family are all solid off the top of my head. I'm really curious about Doctor Who and Judge Dredd.

Im budgeting maybe 20 or 30 bucks to pick up a handful of tables and I'm trying to ensure I don't miss any Essentials. It's bad enough I need to decide between Vita and PS4

Thanks, but I wish you bought hand of Fate 2 as well.

This is too late, but if you decide to buy some more before the end of the month, like if another discount code pops up:

Besides ones you've already mentioned, Pin-Bot and Bride of Pin-Bot are great tables. Looking forward to playing the Jack-Bot table. Also good ones: No Good Gofers, Funhouse, White Water.

I'm kinda partial to some tables from the early to mid-80s when pinball tables first started to modernize, ones I played IRL at the time so some nostalgia may be involved: Black Knight, Centaur, Eight Ball Deluxe, Firepower. Gorgar, Space Shuttle.

Didn't play much pinball past the 80s IRL and only have the first 2 seasons (& 7, which I have only touched a little), so a lot of these tables are new to me. Looking forward to playing a couple you mentioned that I have heard good things about like Addams Family and Doctor Who.

Anybody still playing MLB The Show 18? I ask because a few months back (before the game released I believe) when we got the 20% off codes and there were some other codes, I never did anything with mine because I don't have the game. I will drop the codes and if anyone who still plays wants to be the guinea pig to see if they still work, feel free.

I had never heard of Earth Atlantis until today, but that has got a great visual style. Definitely not going to get it for $15, but it is definitely going on the wish list.

So I got Okami HD using the 20% off coupon yesterday.  I had previously played some on the PS3.

It appears the two games share the same Trophies and I already have several of them before I play the PS4 game for the first time.

That's weird, right?  I've never seen that before with a remastered game.

After years of no issues, I've stopped getting my PlayStation receipts in my inbox. I did get one 2 weeks ago, but of the last five or so that's the only one. Is anyone experiencing this? Is there anything I can do about this?

I definitely don't recommend Tacoma for $15 or $16 or whatever it was. If I could get my money back, I would. It's an extremely short game and the story isn't that strong. On the other hand, it's an easy platinum (under 2 hours). Wait until it drops to $5 or so.

I miss Detroit

Capcom tends to be lazy with trophy lists--they used the PS3 version's list for Okami HD on PS4 (as you discovered), they didn't give the PS4 version of Resident Evil 4 a platinum trophy because they just copy-and-pasted the trophy list from the PS3 version, and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary, which includes 12 games, doesn't have a platinum trophy.

Dragon's Crown Pro is another remaster without a new trophy list and surprisingly it's not from Capcom. Not sure why they would do this since there are potential lost sales from trophy hunters who have the plat on PS3 but might be willing to buy the game again if there's a new trophy list.

anyone remember when the last time Battlefield 4 was on sale on PSN? just the base game not premium pass or the expansions.  thanks

Id say it's cross-compatibility has to do with that, though.

I have some coupons from the Capcom/Sega Humble Bundle that I don’t plan on using. If anyone would like to use one or more of them, just either quote reply me or PM me. Just as a heads up, these don’t stack with any sales, so you can’t combine the coupon for Dead Rising 4 with the sale price it’s currently at. It’s one or the other. These are the coupons:

50% off Dead Rising 4 Frank’s Big Package (Will be $25)
40% off Valkyria Revolution (Will be $18)
40% off Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition (Will be $30)
50% off Yakuza 0 (Will be $30)

These expire in three days.

I have these as well. I'd give them up as well but I'm just holding out on Yakuza 0 going on sale Tuesday. It's on sale on Gamestop for $30. If it goes on sale Tuesday for the same price, I could get it for $15. I doubt it will happen, but I'm still holding out hope.

I was holding out for sales also, but Dead Rising 4 is on sale for $30 right now down from $50. When you put the coupon in, it erases the sale price and gives you $25 off $50. So they don’t stack with sales. Only MSRP drops will affect the coupon’s value.

Weird. Good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

What will the $199 VR bundles be? I wonder if there will be a $100 drop on the Gran Turismo bundles that are still in the wild. My local walmart still has one at $199, if it would ever drop another $50-100 I'd get it just to keep around.

I assumed it's just the Doom and Skyrim bundles that are going to be $100 off.

Could someone tell me when the paper sale starts
What the price will be ( is it 200 for the room version?)
And confirm the doom be bundle includes the new headset. Thank yoy

You know the only reason brick and mortar sell consoles is to make money off the games and controllers? Even then, the markup isn't much on them. If you go to digital only, what reason is there to carry consoles (which typically break even or have a very minor markup) in the brick and mortar stores? The other thing is, with physical media, you can still pop in the disc and play it years down the road. We have already seen things removed from digital storefronts and no longer available to get, even if you purchased it.
Examples of this happening on PSN are extremely rare. In one case it was a free demo. In the other case, Afro Samurai 2, the game was so broken, bad, andbuggy that the developer offered a heartfelt apology and a full refund. Both of these cases are extreme exceptions and using them to bolster your anti digital argument is very misplaced. First off, we would never have gotten the demo if not for digital. Second, If anything, digital has been great about letting us keep games that get delisted as well as making extremely rare Games available for all. Ultimately, I argue digital is far better for the long-term. We only need to look at Steam and GOG to see that digital has done far more to preserve older games then physical ever has.

I will agree that on the PC side it is more effective. Look at other consoles though. Want to buy anything from the Wii Shop? Hope you had money in there already and it is enough with just one year left. Want to get some dlc for Halo 2 or TJ&E 3 on the OG Xbox? To bad as those servers for the OG dlc are done. With consoles being closwd markets, when they want to shut them down, they are gone for good.

There is PS Mobile. None of those games are available to download anymore.

Even worse, your system had to be previously "activated" to be able to play the games at all, which could only be done before the service shut down. I lost my Vita shortly after Sony dropped the service, so even though I made backups of my PS Mobile games on my PC, the fact that my new Vita was never activated means I can never play my PS Mobile games again.

Sure, digital games might not be being pulled from our Download lists, thankfully. But while finding an old OOP game disc might be hard, buying a delisted game is IMPOSSIBLE. And it's happening more and more often, especially with DLC. Just recently Modnation Racers PS3, a game published by Sony themselves, was completely stripped off the PSN store along with all it's DLC save for the free Demo. The game has a full single player Campaign, as did all the DLC packs.

Most of the time games/ DLC get delisted with no notice at all, making the problem even worse. I don't hate digital at all, I have a huge digital library. But I know how fleeting it all is, and I'm not putting any stock in being able to access those games in 10-20 years.

Sure, I had around 30 PS mobile games. My Vita broke and I don't have them anymore. But again, PS mobile is nothing like PSN. PS mobile never took off, and was a complete failure from the get-go. So ultimately, it got shut down. Sure, I think they should have left a download and activation server up, but that said, comparing this to an established platform like PSN is misguided. All new digital platforms have a risk factor. PSN is established with hundreds of millions of customers, and does not have that same risk factor. Using PS mobile as a warning sign for PSN Falls flat because they simply aren't analogous. PS mobile it's only a warning sign for start-up digital platforms.

Someone else mentioned how delisted games are never available again. And yes this is true, and it is a problem. However, digital has allowed many games to be released that never would have been released in a physical only world. You can't simply point 2 Dlisted indie game and bemoan that it isn't available anymore, since digital is what sparked the Indie revolution in the first place... We would not have that game and thousands of others if not for simple digital distribution.

We're about to lose a lot of pinball tables permanently. Sure, that's awful. But we have those tables available to buy now because of digital. There's no way seven seasons of tables would ever have been released physical. So while it's a shame that licensing will take them away, is vital to also realize that we only have them in the first place because of the digital platform. And Licensing will always be an issue, since no license holder ever signs away permanent rights.

In case anyone cares, Guitar Hero Live will be pulling the plug on it's GHTV servers come December 1st.  The "GH Live mode" will continue to function, but unfortunately the "GHTV mode" is required for a LOT of trophies.

I have not played GHTV yet, I'm more of a Rock Band guy, but my girlfriend got me the PS3 version of GHTV for Christmas last year.  Based on the trophy list and learning curve, I doubt I'll be trying to get the plat on this one, unfortunately.

Anyone that bought some of those pinball arcade seasons still having issues accessing them like I am? I bought seasons 4 and 5 and they still aren’t showing up in the game. And going through the store to them causes an error as well.

I'm not saying digital hasn't had a boon amd helped to get a lot of thinga out we wouldn't have seen. I simply am stating why physical media ia how I prefer to get many of my titles if available. Sigital definately has brought us several games and dlc that otherwise would have very unlikely ever seen the light of day. I just am saying that people wanting an all digital future need to take caution with it. There are ups and down to both forms, but to me, physical will always be preferred.

As for sayung only 2 were delisted, that is true on ps4, but as I said, look at the OG Xbox and Wii. Throw in the DS as well. Many games gone for good, never to be downloaded again. On consoles it is an ever present thing that can happen. Even the TOS says they can remove at any time.

"You are solely responsible if you do not choose to download or access the content before it is removed or your license expires, and for ongoing storage and safekeeping of the content." It also states they have the right to block or remove content from you if you violate them. Physical, not so easy for them to come and remove.

Like I saud, digital has it's place, but I guess I am just more old school and enjoy physical media as well.

I know you are using MAG in a joking matter. The issue with MAG isn't due to the disc itself though, rather from the servers being shut down. You technically still have access to use the software, even if that software isn't able to do anything but boot up.

Edit: This will happen more and more this generation in time. Overwatch, Rainbow Six, Battleborn, Evolve, and similar that are mainly, if not entitely dependent on online servers.
