Now whether or not some of those are worth the price if you're just looking for trophies is up to you. I normally don't spend more than 5 bucks on something I'm getting mainly for trophies.

Yup, I've noticed a lot of adventure games seem to have straightforward platinums. Those also happen to be my genre of choice (trophies or not). To the above, I would add:

Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse

Burly Men at Sea

Grim Fandango (gotta round out the LucasArts remastered trilogy)

Hidden Agenda (requires two smart devices)

The Order: 1886

The Raven Remastered

Until Dawn

There's probably more, but that would require me looking through a list that's easy on the eyes. *cough* Frisky *cough*

Don't we all have a problem? Unnecessarily buying games to add to the backlog without playing them is the CAG way of life. Speaking of which got 10 games in my cart and eying at least 1 more. Should I buy 'em all there's no telling when/if I'll actually play them.

I purposely left Grim Fandango off my list since you have to play the whole game with the tank controls for Plat which kind of sucks. Some of the puzzles are also pretty damn irritating even when you know the solution. As for others on the list which I threw together quickly before going to bed, Dying Reborn is kind of crappy but it can be done pretty painlessly with a walkthrough. I've heard some bad things about Albedo but haven't played it myself.

The Order and Until Dawn are no-brainers at the current price for trophy hunters though. Fairly easy Plats and enjoyable games to boot.

For some reason I want to buy far cry 5, but I bought 4 and never played it.

I think I have a problem.

I strongly suggest holding off on FC5 but playing FC4 as soon as you can; I had some interest in getting FC5 at launch, but I also had FC4 in my backlog and thought it best to finish that one first. Good thing I did--I had a great time going for all of the trophies (including the Yeti DLC), then when I watched footage for FC5, I thought it actually looked worse than FC4.

I played 3 and 4 a couple years apart. Maybe I was expecting too much but wasn't blown away by FC4 it like I was FC3. Maybe I had adjusted my expectations with FC5. It was fun but had some issues. A bit repetitive (yes almost all games are repetitive) and a crappy story IMO. I liked the environment (tropical island) better then Montana, USA. Game play itself seemed fine. I really liked prepper stash side missions/puzzles whatever.

At $42 I would probably skip it though especially if I had FC4 and haven't played it yet. Even though they really aren't connected.

Gameplay is probably better in fc5. Everything felt right at least. Where it took a step back was skills... For some reason none of the skills in fc5 seem important. Fc5 improves companions based off of primal, although I still think there is work to be done in that department.

I like all of them, and have the Platinum for 3 4 and 5.

There's some strange gameplay decisions in Far Cry 5, although honestly they make sense in context.


I think the biggest issue is actually Ghost Recon wildlands. Grw really stepped up the base attack concept, and fc5 didn't get the memo. In part due to the setting, bases are easily overrun if you use everything at your disposal. For example, any helicopter is instant win. Likewise, with the right companions it's hard to lose. I hope Far Cry 6 realizes this and improves on its base attack formula. I mean, that is the core of its gameplay and having another franchise eat its lunch is a shame.

Purchasing the digital GOTY edition unlocks the vanilla game and the ability to download all the individual pieces of DLC from the store, except the multiplayer currency (which is not included with the GOTY version), so it should work with the disc version.

It can definitely get repetitive but its something thats real easy to pick and and play after a long absence or kill a little bit of time if you don't have a lot of it.

You hit on one of my main concerns with this game. I've looked at gameplay videos on YT for general purposes and it seemed like it's repetitive. I'll probably pass on it.

Haha, it's all good, I did say I'm open to suggestions. Walking sims are a nice departure from the types of games I normally play (shooters, racing, sports, etc). Besides what's one more game when it's something worth playing.

Picked up A Hat in Time due to the glowing reviews on Steam and a handful of recommendations here but the lack of vertical camera control is a big issue for me. What I mean is that pushing up or down on the right stick zooms in and out instead of letting me look up and down like I'm used to. Very tough for me to get used to and the camera ends up in bad positions quite a bit due to my natural instinct to use the right stick to look up and down instead of zoom. Apparently you can change a setting in the PC version to enable standard camera controls with gamepads but I don't see that setting in the PS4 version.

Ghost Recon wildlands is fantastic. If you're playing solo, you can use your AI team members with their own targets and everyone fires on the pull of your trigger. This makes for some fantastic stealth takeovers as you time Patrols. It also has very cool use of drones, fantastic weapon selection, and a very large world lots to do.

If you play co-op, it turns into a laugh riot because no matter how well you plan someone always Leeroy Jenkins it.

I found both styles, Co-op and solo, a blast for very different reasons. Post-release support has been great, they have added multiplayer, a whole new leveling system, and more.

Rivals is kind of a mix of hot pursuit and most wanted. Lots of cop chases, and you get to be a cop 2... cops are extremely aggressive and can randomly start pursuing you in the middle of a race. I had an absolute blast with it. Its biggest problem is that it was a launch title if I remember correctly, so it's not as polished

The Need for Speed self titled reboot focuses more on different style races... Drift, Offroad, Etc. They reeled in police too much, and cop cars are driven by blind grandmas that couldn't catch you if you drove backwards. The plot is delivered in full motion video that some hated, but I found it perfectly campy and loved it. They also allow a lot of car customization and tuning... If you don't like the drift change it.

Payback has aspects of both of those. It's probably the most polished of them all. Its biggest issue is a fairly odd upgrade mechanic based off of free loot boxes. You definitely don't need to buy anything, but you still need to deal with finding parts based on quality and brand.


I very much enjoyed getting the Platinum for all three and if you like Need for Speed games I think you're fine with any of them. If you like cop chases definitely go with rivals or Payback.

Gameplay is probably better in fc5. Everything felt right at least. Where it took a step back was skills... For some reason none of the skills in fc5 seem important. Fc5 improves companions based off of primal, although I still think there is work to be done in that department.

I like all of them, and have the Platinum for 3 4 and 5.

There's some strange gameplay decisions in Far Cry 5, although honestly they make sense in context.


I think the biggest issue is actually Ghost Recon wildlands. Grw really stepped up the base attack concept, and fc5 didn't get the memo. In part due to the setting, bases are easily overrun if you use everything at your disposal. For example, any helicopter is instant win. Likewise, with the right companions it's hard to lose. I hope Far Cry 6 realizes this and improves on its base attack formula. I mean, that is the core of its gameplay and having another franchise eat its lunch is a shame.

I actually got a game ending bug due to their forced story sections. This entry was a huge step back for me. The companions are better but everything else has been done better in their other games. And the story telling is the worst in this one. These are the most inept villains of all time.

If you're a big fan of JRPGs, you'd probably do well with Persona 4 Golden. Muramasa Rebirth or Dragon's Crown are also good if you like the beat em up style RPGs as well. If you like Monster Hunter, there's Soul Sacrifice, the God Eater games, the Toukiden games, or Freedom Wars

Vita cards are impossible to find for cheap, so I'd recommend waiting for some kind of a sale from GS.

Persona 4 is great. The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel games are very good. They're a bit more Japanese and not RPGs but as someone who also isn't into fan service games and loves classic RPGs, the Danganronpa and Zero Escape series are musts. I really liked Gravity Rush but that's also on PS4 now. Ys Memories of Celceta is worthwhile. Velocity 2X is awesome. That's at least a start.

Anyway, for these week's sales I'm grabbing: Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits, Okage, Wild Arms 3, Prey and The Invisible Hours.
