I'm considerably late to the party on this, but Icey was a fantastic game. Bought it back on sale some time ago and finally sat down to play it. First time in a while where I found myself staying up so late just to finish a game. Great meta story, and the combat was fun! Kinda mad at myself for accidentally playing on hard mode, but otherwise it was a treat!

If anyone gets a chance, Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr is pretty good. Just some targeting issues at launch but they said it's being worked on.

Headset as well.

I was able to get an order in about 10 min ago though Best Buy for the console. If anyone's looking for it I'd suggest F5'ing amazon at 12am PST
I'm so close to pulling the trigger on the headset. My old golds are falling apart from scraping the VR headset constantly.

Has anyone played through We Happy Few? I rented it when it came out and liked what I played of it. How long does it take to complete the main campaign? I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I don't have lots of time to play games and don't like to commit to long games real often.

It's about 15-20 hours depending how fast you go through

Drowning in third person action games but I must say Uncharted: LL is a tight enjoyable experience. Naughty dog really knows how to do visuals and some action/puzzle solving moments. Hellblade on the other hand is feeling like a chore. Audio is cool, yes, but beyond that I’m disappointed in the overly repetitive gameplay/puzzles and I was not aware of the horribly slow pacing.

how far in are you? the set pieces are worth the mediocre gameplay imo but if you've made it past the first two puzzle areas and still actively dislike it it might just not be for you, as gameplay only gets worse. (honestly hellblade needs an enemy free mode more than ni no kuni 2 needed hard mode)

backlog discussion wise I've made it a rule to only buy games I am immediately going to play or are sub 10$.  That has somewhat worked in cutting down the buildup of my backlog. I also drop games if I find I am not enjoying them and stopped being 100% completionist or grabbing all trophies and achievements.

I've finished about 14 games a year and since they are rpgs you can imagine how long many of them can take at times. Going at this pace it will only take me another 13 years to complete all the stuff in my backlog.

First of all, you're supposed to have quit gaming for a year to try to get some stability back to your life. Second, don't think of backlog as work, think of it as opportunity. Don't turn Leisure Time into work.

Don't get me wrong, I think we're all a little bit overwhelmed by back log. There are so many shows I I want to watch , then the movies, Vita, PS4, PS3, PS 1, 3 DS, steam, gog.

But that just means there's always something to chill out with. Come to terms with the fact you will never finish it all. Come to terms with the fact that you'll never read all the books you want to read. It helps if those things are secondary in your life not primary.
I agree that once it becomes work it's not fun. Like training pokemon for competitive play with all the hidden stats and crap. Complete waste of time.

I also drop games if I find I am not enjoying them and stopped being 100% completionist or grabbing all trophies and achievements.

This.

So many posts here of people "forcing" themselves to finish a game and 100% it, all while saying they do not enjoy the game.

Me personally i've 100% completed maybe 5 or so games in my life..

Well, that was most likely the last chance for a discount code for these sales, so I finally bought DWVR and Agents of Mayhem: Total Mayhem.

I'm thinking about Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete. It seems worth it at that price, but I'm guessing it will reach a full 50% off by the time I get around to playing it. Though Conan Exiles is getting me interested in games with a primitive setting. But, I'm pretty sucked in to Conan right now.

Another game I'm thinking of is Energy Cycle. Apparently there's an exploit that let's you get the platinum in less than 10 minutes. It's on sale for a $1.49. If you can do the trophy passes for Sony Rewards then the rewards point values for the game's platinum, gold, and silver trophies is worth slightly more than the sale price. It's a decent shortcut for the trophy passes.

Can I jump into uncharted 4 without playing the first 3 and understand the story ?same question for uncharted lost legacy.
Understand it? Probably. But it’s best to play them in order and Lost Legacy last. Lost Legacy is probably the only one I can recommend playing out of order if you must since it’s the least reliant on continuity from the main series. All four games are great.

It's fine. Each game is fairly self-contained, and many of the characters in UC4 are new additions anyway (Sam, Nadine, Rafe). Any relationships between Nate and Elena/Sully are pretty self-explanatory. The only thing you'd be missing is the generalized warm feeling of nostalgia for a character you've played for a decade coming to an end.

100% do not recommend. It’s like watching Star Wars Return of the Jedi first and expecting it to have the same impact.

You’ll have no attachment to any characters. I just imagine playing the ‘Drake’s at home’ section and having no basis for any of it and wondering what any of it is is just bizarre.

Please don't. Play them in order, it's worth it. Part of what makes Uncharted is the characters.

Think of Indiana Jones, and how little things, like him grabbing his hat, or a reference to snakes, echo back to past movies. Sure, you can watch them in any order... But you'll find so much more in them if you watch them in the proper order.

I'm only responding to even out the discussion. You'll appreciate it more if you play the others first, but you can definitely enjoy it as a standalone thing. It's definitely got callbacks and references to previous games in it, but if you've ever enjoyed sequels of other movies or games without watching the predecessors, you know how you'll feel about this.

Grabbing the last few games that I want off the Totally Digital Sale before it ends.  Can anyone recommend Alone With You and Wanderjahr for the PS Vita/Vita TV, and is there any single player component to Nidhogg for PS4/Vita/Vita TV?  I don't have any friends.

Still on the fence for Uncharted Lost Legacy but today is my last day to decide before my PS+ expires and I no longer have the discount. So I'm leaning toward yes just because of that. Not sure when I'll be able to resub, so yeah.

Don't have a Vita, so I can't chime in as far as those other games, but I can confirm at that the PS4 Nidhogg does have a single player campaign.

I just finished it and I enjoyed it as much as 4 if not more. The action is tight, the puzzles are fun, the story is good, visuals are stupid good and I even liked the characters. I felt like I got a much more expensive game than I paid for.

I think I’m now going to rebuy 4 just to get more Uncharted.

100% games is fine as long as they don't have too much content or are difficult/tedious to do. Of course that depends on what you consider 100%

Finally getting around to playing Horizon and I'm really enjoying it. Was excited to see the complete edition on sale so I figured the Frozen Wilds stand-alone would also be discounted, but nope! Always annoying when the complete edition is on sale but not the DLC.

Mainly talking about those that are forcing themselves to 100% a game, for the trophies/collectables etc... even though they hate the game.

You mentioned Octopath... that game, *WILL* be a game I will beat/finish/100%

If I hate a game, I'll stop playing it without forcing myself to get all the trophies. Like, I can never see myself going back to playing Terraria or Don't Starve to get the rest of the trophies. But if there's a game I enjoyed that has a long process to finish the trophies, I'll stick it out just to get the plat/100% even if I'm sick of playing. Like killing that large number of enemies in [Prototype]. Just wanted to stop playing by that point, but wasn't going to let one trophy hold me back from my plat.

The only times I've forced myself to get trophies were for the hardcore fan / listener trophies in Persona 4G and 5.  Those sucked, but it was too hard to look at 99% on two of my favorite games.

I finally finished Lost Legacy last weekend and I ended up really liking it. I stalled out on it a few months ago because I didn't care for the more open-world section early in the game, but once you get past that and into the more classic, linear Uncharted levels I enjoyed it a lot. Might have even liked it more than Uncharted 4 (and 3, for that matter).

You guys talked me into it, I went ahead and got it. I loved the Uncharted games so I'm not sure why I was being so indecisive, but I appreciate you guys giving me mini reviews as to why it was worth it.  :D
