I do truly think that PS4 Killzone is horrible. If someone doesn't buy it because of me, random internet person, I apologize.

 
So SOTR is not as good as TR and Rise? I guess I can wait for a price drop then. I played and beat TR on both PS3 and the DE on PS4. I didn’t care for the story but enjoyed playing the game. I have Rise of the Tom Raider, but have yet to play it.

Been playing Obsever. I am enjoying it, definitely a head trip though.

Like the Steam Ports of Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6 and Chrono Trigger were all the Mobile crap that ruined the legacy of the original releases.

 
Anybody else having trouble getting the 3 months of Netflix e-mail code thing to work?  No joy here.  Tried support chat, but it was, shall we say, inconclusive.  I don't think English is what "Dennis" speaks at the dinner table.  We'll see if anything gets done.  For our shared amusement:

I was just reading an article. Not the one posted here. It says they are not getting brick. That you can factory reset the console.
 
What's happening is that the code being sent is putting the system in a state to be bricked, so the system tries to do a factor reset.  Your choice is to either let the system be bricked, or factory reset (which deletes all your games, game saves, etc.)  Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Can you still get the plat without the servers do you know?

Edit: so searched and found out the plat is still possible, however cross saving isn't so you will no longer get 3 easy platinums from this game. Anyone know what time today the servers will shut down, I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

Also, not sure if it was posted, but just can use the PSN messenger app on your phone for all messages until there is a patch as a work around.

It's been reported that that doesn't work. The message will affect your system the moment your PS4 receives it (even in Rest Mode) not the moment you open it.

 
Be sure to change your settings to receive messages from friends only and if your friends send that message....well get better friends.

Cloud sync worked as of 9AM EST this morning but I have no idea when it shuts down so I was scrambling. Just started the game yesterday. Wasters last night trying to download the ps3 to no avail. Had to go to my download list to finally get it. Don't know why the store listing only downloads vita version

The servers for a few more PS3 games were supposed to go down today (10/15). I was able to win a match in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale on PS3 tonight and unlock two trophies right before the server went down for that game. Apparently, they didn't wait until midnight because I kept getting error messages.

And I tried to get a deathmatch game going on Twisted Metal for PS3, but there was only one other guy online so we didn't have enough players. I opened up the game disc just so I could play it online once before the server went down, but no dice. It still had the purple sticker on the cellophane from Walmart. I imagine it was purchased on a Black Friday. From the single player mode, it appears to be a terrible game.

Seriously, I love PSASBR but I didn't even remember that it had an online component.

All these online servers going down...thank the gods for robust single player experiences.

The server for Sound Shapes was also scheduled to go down on 10/15 as well. People were posting on Reddit that all three of these games' servers would go down on 10/25, but that might have been for Europe only.

And PlayStation All-Stars was a hot mess when I played online last night. Since there were only a few people online, I kept getting thrown into the same lobby with some veteran players who had each played 999 games. I only won one ranked match against some other newbies. That's one reason that I hardly bother with playing online, but I'm more likely to play online games on PS3 because I refuse to pay for PS+.

Oh, and several of the servers for the older Just Dance games for PS3 are going down in November.

I think it's obvious that these games were going to be negatively impacted by PSN name changes.  Too bad they rather shut them down than roll out a patch.  I tried to get Sound Shapes completed yesterday, but servers went down about 3pm PST.  Oh well.

Did you want to auto-pop the trophies for other platforms? Because cross save is the only thing affected by Sound Shapes servers correct? (it's been a while, platted the game in 2014)

I think Warhawk also just recently closed down. I can't believe the servers were still up for that game. Warhawk came out over 10 years ago which makes it even more surprising when they were going to shut down Gravity Rush 2 less than a year after release. Very bizarre.

I think that Twisted Metal is considered somewhat of a cult classic in the action racer genre.

I've played the Twisted Metal PS1 and PS2 games and enjoyed both. The PS3 version suffers from what I call "open world-itis" where the stage was so huge that you had to drive around for a while before finding the enemy vehicles ganging up on each other. Then, they all ganged up on me as soon as I appeared. Not fun. Might have been better online in a deathmatch, but I guess I'll never know.
 
So turns out PSN is down!? Great just when I was going to buy a game! Wonder if it has anything to do with the recent exploits that were bricking peoples playstations. Anybody know when PSN will be back online?
