Companies do the minimun possible work to stay in line with all the various state/national taxes and regulations. It's quite expensive to deal with all that and it doesn't earn the company anything, just an expected cost of doing business.

Anybody assign personalities to all the people who post here?

Like, I have specific people that I classify as heroes and villains.

Then you can root for or against them?  It's like a soap opera.  Faces and heels.

I'm a little (but very little) bummed that Burnout and Full Throttle appear to be slightly less than they had been a few weeks ago.

 
Here's a legitimate thread-related question - has anyone here discovered any PS4 hidden gems on the store lately? There are so many games either coming out or on sale that I'm fairly certain that there are some decent ones that we all might have missed.
 
After reading the past two dozen or so posts...

It’s not easy for some single dude that’s unattached and has no responsibility to date a woman with kids. She dated, (probably) married, had kids, took care of them as babies until they are 10 or 12, then got divorced. Now you have this single dude with no kids and coming into this relationship from a completely different stage in life and dating a woman, in this case, with threee kids he has no attachment to. He doesn’t want kids of his own and doesn’t want to be involved in the lives of his gfs kids. He’s basically still at the stage in life at 21 and she’s 35. He should just cut it off now. No matter how many weeks a month she has her kids, it’s going to be more than he likes.

It can be hard enough transitioning from a single bachelor life to a relationship with someone. Adding kids that aren’t yours into the mix? Yeah that would be a really hard adjustment.

Hellblade was a decent game with beautiful graphics and easy (if a tad redundant) battles. I played it wearing earphones and happy I did, as it gave the schizo vibe a lot better than my 5.1 surround system seemed to. Although, I did expect the game to be a little more...I don't know, crazy? It felt to me like they had the voices in her head down well, but that was about it.

Hellblade's goal was portraying psychotic mental illnesses accurately instead of the "crazy" exaggerated stereotypes normally depicted in media. As someone with a much milder case of psychosis they did a really good job at it.

I recommend Channel Zero over AHS if you want horror. AHS does have the horror theme, but is mostly campy with only a handful of real horror moments sprinkled in each season.

Channel Zero goes way more into horror territory and uses creepypastas as story inspiration for each season.

Season 1 is less camp and more scare. Beyond that you’re in Glee/Horror story land. Not that that’s a bad thing.

Speaking of deluded self-indulgence: I tried out the free Tetris Effect Demo last night. I don't get ANY of the hype about it. It was 100% new age garbage flashing all over the TV like an annoying little sister trying to show you her awful new gymnastics routine involving flashlights and Bollywood in the middle of playing a tiny screen of very normal and same-as-it-always-was Tetris.

I’m with you. I ended up turning the volume down and turning off the obnoxious vibration. It was too much for me. I’ll take Tetris DS any day of the week.

I love Tetris.  Just give me a full screen plain old regular Tetris for a dollar.  While they're at it, bundle it with Columns and Puyo Puyo, but simple versions.

Brand new indie games come out and look like Atari 2600 games.

Tetris---THE GAME THAT IS JUST BLOCKS---has all the anti-aliasing, HDR, Blast Processing, Matrix level, next gen stuff.

If they want to make it fancy, have half the screen be the Tetris board, maybe 10% for the score and stats and the other 40% be Vinheteiro playing Korobeiniki while he stares at your soul.  That would be worth an extra dollar.

Actually, I think your other analogy of 'faces and heels' is probably more accurate. I think most people know if they are being an a-hole on threads (I know *i* do) and sometimes like playing the 'villain.' Additionally, there can be the quick 'heel turn' or 'face turn' and suddenly, that same poster says something that you agree with/offends you to no end.

CAG is wrestling, without the stunts.

Totally agree as well. I tried it both on my tv and on PSVR. It’s better in VR since the depth of the view changes and I think all the flashy stuff is neat and all, but it’s still just Tetris. The same Tetris I’ve been playing since 1989. I’ll pick it up when it drops to $10 or lower.

Hellblade seemed overrated to me. I played through the entire game and the fighting wasn’t fun. The story was alright but would have been more enjoyable as an adventure game. It also had excess padding with backtracking.
 
Speaking of Tetris I vividly remember as a kid I went up to line 210 maybe more on the original gameboy.Ah yes the golden years of ones youth as now I'd probably only get to 100 or so.

Yes, I know what Tetris is and all but I'd like to see if Endless or Marathon is regular Tetris.  I mean one of them has to be, right?

P.S. I was just gonna satisfy the full requirements for Godwin's Law for comedic effect but it should really come naturally, right?

Haven’t tried the demo for Tetris Effect yet but $40 does seem really excessive. Should have been $20 because as everyone else has said, it’s still just Tetris. I can probably get a strobe light out of my attic and feel just as “cool” playing the $10 game and save $30 in the process.

Regardless of your feeing, that child will still looks at you as a parental figure the longer the relationship goes. As a teacher, I can tell you that children are affected to a great degree by the adults in their life. That includes who their parent decides to spend their time with. That shapes how a child views future relationships.

On-topic: Look at Joel in The Last of Us and Lee in The Walking Dead. Surrogate parents are often huge parts of a child’s life.

just wanted to step in and say, if you arent educated in the political process and what is on the ballot this tuesday, dont vote. last thing we need is people encouraging the ignorant to go vote. that is what got us in the mess in the first place.

Whole heartedly disagree. This is a democracy, everyone should vote whether they feel qualified or not. Fun fact, everyone feels they don't truly understand the issues well enough. It only keeps women and young people from voting, men and older people vote anyway. We all should.

well the odds are stacked against the kid because mom already made a bad decision on who to breed with

past decisions are an indicator of future decisions, so maybe blame the actual birth mother rather than the "deadbeat" step dad or boyfriend

Those people who got us in this mess are the people who vote religiously. The more people vote, the more likely liberal policies and politicians will be passed/elected. Republicans thrive on people like you telling people not to vote.
