If you are dick all year long and suddenly stop because of "this time of the year", I'd be really suspicious - may be you are just being a different kinda dick. Just saying...

Be true to yourself and continue being a D! :p

I wish people got me gift cards for holidays instead I get stuff I'll never use and it gets donated to Goodwill the next day. I tell family not to get me anything and just donate the money to charity but they never listen and instead get me Batman related stuff every Christmas because I would wear Batman shirts like 15 years ago and so that's the only thing they can think of to get me. Last year I got a Batman crock pot and a Batman hoodie that got donated.

How is Arizona Sunshine with the Aim Controller?  It's on sale this week for $12.

Doom can use it too, right?  I hear Doom VR is supposed to be really good but it's not on sale.

Did the Destroy All Humans games turn out well in the remaster/trophy-fication? Wouldn't mind picking them both up at that price. :whistle2:k
If you liked them on PS2, you'll probably like them here. They look and play pretty much the same, with a slightly higher framerate, as far as i can tell. If you're in it for the trophies, i'm pretty sure you can play the game with cheats enabled and still earn trophies.

Thanks for the list. Some weird stuff in there where it’s lowest prices ever and some doesn’t make sense prices like ass creed black flag for $20+. I think I’m just biting on shadow of war definitive.

You sound not very appreciative of something someone gave you as a gift. I mean If your 15 then that's appropriate, not if your 30.

That's probably why is wasn't more personal. You'd find something to complain anyway. Rather then the gesture that someone did something nice for you. If you were my family/friends etc. you'd get nothing with that attitude.
At least he didn't turn around and brag about flipping it out of spite.

I really wish the DLC was on sale for Shadow of War. As is, I have the game but don't want to purchase DLC at full price.

I think I have a code for the season pass lying around somewhere since the game is still in my backlog and might expire soon. PM for deets if you're interested.

Every time the Witcher 3 complete edition goes on sale I talk myself out of it. Every time!

I’m sure it’s awesome and a game I would enjoy but am I ever really going to be able to finish it?

Always tempts me...

Does it matter if you don't actually finish it?

Also, there's a couple of packs that are the same price as one of the contents. Like Lego Marvel bundle. And I think Witcher vanilla and Witcher Complete. Why does Sony do this?

Have you never played an RPG on a console? It has way less text than the majority of those.
I tend not to if I can help it (unless they're voiced) specifically because of the text problem...Last one I did was Ni no Kuni 2 and that was excruciating.

I’ve never played Knack or Knack 2, but the first one got bad reviews and the second one has quite a few recommendations. Do you have to play the first game before the second one?

They actually added PS3. That is surprising that they are about to drop service on PSN plus. May have to find some new games for my PS3.

I can still hold out on PS4 prices. Nothing I want to play right away that I can't wait for price drops. I already got my bloodborne and dark souls 3.

I want RDR2 but I am not paying $50-60 dollars. I will wait till its $10 bucks. Hell just yesterday I picked up 60 PS3 games. only one sports title and a limited edition wii all for $50. Less then a buck a game. All mainly generic shooters though.

Alice Madness returns for $4 dollars looks good. So does the castlevanias and the racing games.
Interesting. Are you a hoarder?

Most gamers don't have a lot of spare time, but even the ones that do... don't have the time to play 60 games they just bought. The vast majority of those 60 games are not even going to be decent.

You weigh that against playing the top game of 2018 in RDR2, and it seems like an easy choice between those options.

Cool of you to offer, but just fyi if your SoW SP code is from the gold edition, it should expire 10/10/2027. The gold chest also has the same expiration date.

I'm getting a PSVR for Xmas... anyone have any recommendations from the sale this week.  Lots of PSVR games at good prices, so I'm tempted to load up my cart.

I'm not interested in Move games though.

I really like Battlezone VR (and apparently Frisky agrees). It's exactly what you would hope for from a Battlezone tank driving game. Under $11 is a really good price. I was happy when I paid $20.

I highly recommend downloading the two PSVR demo discs to try out a bunch of games first, if you can. I don't think any of the PSVR games end before Christmas, so you can at least try some of them out first.

I plan on getting Arizona Sunshine myself. Probably won't get it til after the holiday.

Doom VFR is good, not great. Movement is my biggest gripe with it. Turning is an absolute nightmare. People on the Bethesda forums wished movement was similar to how Skyrim VR was handled (which I haven't tried. I 100% Skyrim and don't plan on returning.).

Frisky, I see you like the Wipeout Collection.

What's the vertigo/motion effect like on that?

That VR Mech game we got for free makes me want to puke for hours afterwards and I'm still in the training portion.

Wipeout is great but I have massive concerns about me and it in VR.

I'm getting a PSVR for Xmas... anyone have any recommendations from the sale this week. Lots of PSVR games at good prices, so I'm tempted to load up my cart.

I'm not interested in Move games though.
Astro Bot is currently $20 on Amazon and GameStop. It’s a must own.

If you like racing games I highly recommend the Dirt Rally VR bundle and Wipeout Omega.

I posted the list of my favorite PSVR games on sale over in the PSVR thread:
Ah, cool. I actually have Wipeout & Thumper from a previous sale, and they will be the first games I try when I set up my PSVR. I'll probably get PS VR Worlds, Farscape & Gunjack, thanks.

Move games are the best games though! Superhot is still my favorite. Statik is good though and it doesn't use the moves. If you like puzzle games that is.
I just don't really like motion controls, especially when I just want to relax with a game after a long day. My PSVR bundle won't have the move controllers anyway, though I might pick some up next year. Statik looks interesting though- putting it in my cart.

I really like Battlezone VR (and apparently Frisky agrees). It's exactly what you would hope for from a Battlezone tank driving game. Under $11 is a really good price. I was happy when I paid $20.
Wow, looks great... Giving me welcome Tron vibes. This is right up my alley, thanks.

It has some good settings to try to minimize those effects with how much you can see in the cockpit, though I think you can also play in third-person mode if needed. I wasn't able to play it for hours, but I got a few races in for a good session without feeling too bad.

Ranking off the top of my head for the mainline games: 2 > 5 (not on PSN) > 3 > 1 > 4

1 and 2 have the advantage of being able to play on the Vita or PSP. 1 might be a bit too old school (clunky at times, individual character inventories to manage, characters not very customizable) but it's relatively short at around 20 hours. Story is still strong. 3 has some fun variety with the way they changed character customization and the battle system, but it can be slow to get going storywise because the game has four protagonists to switch between until the last few chapters. 4 I would skip.

Bringing a save game over from the end of 1 lets you carry over some things but nothing too major (names you input carry over, can use the first game's protagonist on your team, equipment from 2 characters carry over) and you can then carry over a save file from 2 into the third game (even less is brought over, but at least it seemed neat at the time).

They all go on sale often enough that I would just jump straight to 2 and try it out before playing the others. It's the most well regarded for a reason.
I and II are fantastic. Not sure how they hold up if you're coming to them for the first time now, but if you like 16/32-bit JRPG's, these are some of the greatest. I'd put II up there with Chrono Trigger and FFVI as the pinnacles of the genre. V is also fantastic. III is ok, and IV should be avoided at all costs.

Honestly, I want to just tell you to buy them all, in the (misguided) hope that Konami will see that there's an interest in the franchise and do something with it.
Thanks for the feedback! I grew up on jrpgs and played way too much Chrono trigger, secret of Mana, final fantasy and breath of fire so I'm good with old school. Think I'll grab 2 for sure and ponder the others on sale minus 4.

Too bad, there were a lot of great RPGs back in the 8-bit and 16-bit era.
Someone mentioned Burnout paradise being one of their fav games (in another thread i think) and the remake just made them bored.

I am starting to feel the same on al the old school RPG's I grew up playing.. I own all the FF's playable on Vita, just can't get into playing them much anymore. I was buying all the old RPG's that ran on the Vita, and ended up playing for an hour or so... and moving on.

Edit: yeah it was in the Burnout thread

Yeah, what everyone else said. The problem with Suikoden III is that it doesn't feel like a Suiko game at all... I get the impression they tried to make it more like Grandia, and what worked in that series doesn't in this one. Suiko IV was supposed to put the series on the right track but it failed miserably. Suiko Tactics was a spin-off game released around the same time. It wasn't mentioned previously, but don't buy that either... it's BORING beyond comprehension. I've heard bad things about the DS game Suiko Tierkreis, too.

Anyway. Quick question for the three or four people still using their Vitae. Are the Jak and Daxter and God of War collections any good? I'm not a big fan of either series but they might keep me amused if the ports are solid. I thought I heard they ran kind of poorly on the Vita, though. (Honestly, I wish it had been Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper instead... I would quite happily play those. Maybe next week.)

I avoid buying games anymore with the only time I do buy a game is if I intend to play it right away or it's under 10$.  I'm trying to cut down and play what I have.  Burnout paradise remastered is the only thing I probably want out of the sale but I am gonna resist temptation unless that psn card website puts them on sale again for 7$.  then all bets are off.  Though after reading the one post I may pass anyway since I loved the original and others not liking the remaster isn't a good sign.

I’ve never played Knack or Knack 2, but the first one got bad reviews and the second one has quite a few recommendations. Do you have to play the first game before the second one?
You could get away with reading the plot of Knack 1 on Wikipedia but that's not even necessary since story is not a big part of either game. I actually enjoyed both Knack games but 2 was a good bit better and I had more fun with it than other more highly regarded games of 2017

To be clear, there is nothing wrong with the remaster.. I think it's the nostalgia part thats just not registering as much as we all thought.

I have the remaster and I found the same thing, fun and it's all there just as I remember it.. Just not "play all day fun" like it used to be.

I was pretty interested in Borderlands 2 VR until I heard that the co-op multiplayer is gone, then I lost all interest.  That was half the fun of the game.

They're both fun platformers with the second being an improvement over the original. But yeah you don't have to play the first one.

If you really liked the games and wanted them on the go, I'd say get them as they aren't perfect but still serviceable for portable experiences. Not being much of a fan in the first place, I'd suggest passing on them.

Thoughts on God wars? I saw it launched at $50 but now it's priced at $30 also how many hours to complete the game.
If you like older SRPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre you might like this. It's a pretty decent SRPG but I will say it's dated and definitely doesn't like it came out 20 years after FFT. I'm a sucker for job systems and customizing my characters though and God Wars does well in that regard. I have over 30 hours in it and don't think I'm close to beating it. I have not tried the $15 expansion, not sure if I want to get it as DLC or just have the complete Switch release.

How is Battlezone without VR? I've played the original way back when.

Eh, I 100%d it before trophies, then got the platinum on PS3, and just got the platinum on the PS4 last month. I still love the game. I really enjoyed getting to Play It Again for trophies.

Solid srpg. My major complaints are the same things I take issue with regarding most sRPGs, like having to search for hidden treasure.

Iirc I enjoyed the systems overall but burnt out halfway through, but I'd say that if you do like sRPGs in general then you should definitely try this out. Its well made.

I actually never tried it without the VR. To be honest, I didn't even know that was something that could be done.

If I get some time today, I'll see if I can get to it and I'll tell you.

The only game I've ever played as VR and non-VR is Race The Sun since the VR was added later...and I'm much better playing it in VR>

Agree with this point, but disagree with RDR2 as the top game...had more fun with other games this year...

Just watched a video review on God Wars, game looks great, so thanks for talking about it as I think I'm going to snag it.

Anyone get Tetris Effect on sale from GameStop for $20? It’s at my price point, but no locations near me has it in stock.

UNRELATED: It’s not PS+, but Full Throttle Remastered is free on GOG today for PC. Maybe it’ll be PS+ in the near future. We all know Double Fine games are prone to do so.

Any thoughts on Horizon Chase Turbo? I’m tempted given the genre and a rare 4x split screen vs. game on the PS4, but not sure at this price.
It's a fantastic Outrun style game, great speed, super colorful graphics, great music, tight races. Very addictive and challenging. My only complaint is that as you progress into later areas, it gets a little hard to come in first unless you have a perfect run, which can be tough.

I picked mine up yesterday and it was the last one. The 10 closest stores to me all had it in stock but I'm going to assume each just had 1 or 2 copies.
