Anyone have any opinions on dead space 2 or 3 dlc? I have the base games, but was interested in the ultimate editions for the dlc. Should I just stick with the base games? I already finished dead space 2 and haven't started 3.

They're both pretty meh, but it's more Dead Space at least, which isn't a bad thing. The Dead Space 3 one is better than the Dead Space 2 one, though - no Isaac in the DS2 dlc if I remember correctly. You'll want a co-op partner for it for the best experience, which may be tough.

ROAD REDEMPTION
This is part of the flash sale so if you want it pull the trigger now.

This is a modern road rash. You're on a motorcycle swinging clubs and machetes at other bikers. This is the kind of game where you get bonus points for decapitations. Gameplay is solid, though it's a bit bare bones and arcadey. You start a campaign game and play missions until you die or win, and experience points you earn during the game can be spent on permanent upgrades. Very cool game , I'm glad I bought it.

MONSTER SLAYERS
This is also part of a card game bundle with another game and ends up being cheaper than I paid for it right before the Christmas sale.

Another absolute Hidden Gem if you like tactical card games. There's a ton of content, and a dozen or so classes each which play very differently. Each game consists of three different dungeons, you start the first one with the starter deck for that class and exploring kill as you build your deck to eventually complete all 3 dungeons. If you like optimizing decks with cards like cripple (do 15 physical damage and select card from enemy hand to discard) you'll love it.

It is worth noting that this game has massive interface issues. In various menus Trying to use up down left right to get to where you want takes experience, since it doesn't always go where you think it should. If you go into options and hit exit it literally means exit the dungeon not exit options. While all these interface issues are very annoying at first you will learn to overcome them and you'll be left with a fantastic little game. Oh, one more big bug... always spend your upgrade points between games, unspent points may disappear.

Just got some DLC (Everyday's Golf courses and characters for Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash for those interested) and Reverie and Musynx since one was recommended and I play most rhythm games at least once. Not horrible for sure...but man was it annoying navigating that full list.

 
I have Steep and Portal Knights on XB1 and got Fallen Legion while back. So without a PS3, only game I don’t have is Super Mutant Alien Assault.

And say goodbye to PS3 / Vita titles after this month. ☹️

I am interested in getting a VR. How many move controllers are necessary for it because I have a move controller from years ago which will help determine what bundle I would purchase or are there any significant differences between the new and the old move controllers?

Controllers are the same, just the usb port has changed.

You probably want 2 Move controllers in total. I don't think I've played a game that needed the other type of controller that used to go with the Move ones

 
Just got my first PS4 yesterday (Spider-Man bundle) and I'm excited to get back into the world of PS. I have Spider-Man and Tetris Effect ready to go out of the gate. I also got some PSN credit as well that I expected to spend on this sale, but there aren't enough must-buys on the list now for me to use my 20% coupon on, so I'm thinking I'll save it. I have an Xbox One X so I'm only planning on playing exclusives.

Can anyone make some good, cheap recommendations from this sale?

Looking at Shadow of the Colossus because I've somehow never played that. Maybe Last Guardian? I'll want God of War eventually, but by the time I get around to playing it, it should be sub-$20.

 
Well, Fallen Legion was on my wishlist, but for ps4... and it was the bundle so I could play both games. Maybe next month will be the other one.

Oh, definitely go with Horizon zero Dawn.

Horizon zero Dawn is top-tier even within the AAA category. It is a fantastic, well polished, beautiful, open world game with a great sci-fi story and a huge budget.

Road Redemption is a well done but bare bones love-letter to road rash. People nostalgic for road rash or looking to decapitate other motorcycle riders should definitely pick it up, but it's no Horizon zero Dawn.

Spend your money on Horizon and go forth and bring down some nice robo dinos.

PSN was having some issues for a short time. Games with a PS+ discount appeared to go up in price because the PS+ discount wasn't be applied. At the PSN status page it said things like online play and purchases were also down, but now it seems everything is back up.

Speaking of Steep, I noticed and want to discuss one potential ongoing wrinkle in PSN store.  This wrinkle has its advantages and disadvantages.

I don't think this was widely advertised or explained by Sony, but, when you download a PS4 game from Playstation Now, the game 'might' show up as "Purchased" in your account, with a license given till the end date of your Playstation Now subscription.  I say "the game 'might'" because I noticed that this does not happen to every single game.  This phenomenon, whether intended or not by Sony, served me well at times to prevent buying games that are already in Playstation Now -- although it can be gone from the service someday.

Steep is free to download from Playstation Now.  I never bought it digitally, but it shows up as "Purchased" because I downloaded it once from Playstation Now.  The potential issue here is that I won't be able to buy it as a Playstation Plus freebie, since I already 'purchased' it from Playstation Now.  Then technically I will lose access to it when my Playstation Now runs out, even if I still have Playstation Plus.

Ideally Sony will have to implement a way to differentiate between Playstation Now games and Playstation Plus games in the web store, but we all know that will never happen.  Microsoft has a good track record of showing Game Pass games and EA Access games in their web store, while allowing separate purchases with discount.  I find Microsoft's web store to be more customer friendly in that regard, although they have their own problems and quirks.

I happen to love and frequently use Playstation Now and I already bought up 3 years so this does not concern me too much but I thought I would share with others here.

Thanks! SotC and LG seem like solid deals with the PS+ discount. I’ll wait on Horizon and Last of Us to be more than 20% off (I’ve got PLENTY to keep me busy til then). Might bite of GoW III; I don’t think I ever played that one.

ty I got both I cant turn down road rash knock off but loving it , zero dawn looks good will be playing that after until dawn

 
Is there just a regular shortage on PS4 Pros? I was looking to pick one up this week but they are not in stock anywhere near me and haven't been for a while.

I haven't been keeping up but apparently there is a new revision of the PS4 Pro that is much quieter than the launch model. If I was in the market for one I would try and pick one up. My PS4 Pro can get quite loud. Owned every single console and never had a problem with noise until the PS4 Pro. Mind you I have my console right next to me.

The Xbox has a lack of games but god damn the X1X is a beautiful piece of hardware and dead silent too! The OG Xbox one and even the 1S were trash though.

Anybody else think that perhaps the Sony engineers accidentally listed the majority of the games from the holiday sale in the first week, as opposed to releasing them more incrementally over the ensuing weeks? It just seems a little strange that the sale highlights each week (week 1, 2, 3, etc) with the store update, but the listings haven’t really changed appreciably.

My PS4 Pro does in fact go into airplane mode from time to time... but not that much.

My X1X though.... super quiet. (and yeah, beautiful gaming. Pro needs a boost)

I don’t have a Pro but my regular PS4 also can get really loud. Said it sounded like a freight train in this thread once and got my head bit off for it. But my X1X is indeed as quiet as a mouse (as was the 1S before it).

I had the launch PS4, was loud at times. I bought HZD and I thought It was going to explode!

did the trade bonus/swap for a PS4 Pro, Not as loud... but still gets "winded" at times. 

(I don't even hear my X1X)
