Well, now that we're on the final weekend of the sale and no 20% code has dropped, I made the last of my purchases.  Some were right before Christmas due to their sale ending early and the rest were tonight.  My final haul of the sale:

Azure Reflections

CoolPaintr VR

Enigmatis 3: Shadow of Karkhala

Eventide 3: Legacy of Legends

Forgotton Anne

Killing Floor: Incursion

Mummy Demastered

Persian Nights: Sands of Wonder

Pinball FX - Williams Pinball

Pixel Ripped 1989

Prey: Mooncrash/Typhon Hunter

Street Fighter V - Season 3 Character Pass

Transference

Unravel Two

Welcome to Hanwell

I want the Hitman HD collection, but the $60 is an insta-pass.
$20=buy, $40=still pass.

Really see this dropping in a sale to 20-30 quickly
I can’t blame them. The people that will wait for $20 wasn’t going to be buy it for $40 anyways and the people that were going to buy it at $40 will probably still drop $60 to get it. Cash in on the fanboys, then in a few months steadily decrease the MSRP.

My PS4 Haul is as is....

-Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection - $15
-God of War III Remastered - $5

PS4 Total: $20

(I dont have PS+)

My final haul:

Psychonauts (PS4)
428 Shibuya Scramble (PS4)
Battlezone (PS4)
Farpoint (PS4)
Tacoma (PS4)
Alienation (PS4)
Thumper (PS4)
Prey: Mooncrash (PS4)
The Witcher III Complete (PS4)

God of War Collection (Vita)
Jak and Daxter Collection (Vita)
Hitman Go (Vita)
Frozen Synapse (Vita)

I'd heard bad things about the Jak collection on Vita but it was dirt cheap and its cross buy with PS3 so worst case scenario I just play it there. (I'd have to hook my PS3 back up... but I could do that. Probably won't, but could)

So far, just Metal Gear Solid 3 (Vita) and Fighting EX Layer (PS4). I've considered Fire Pro Wrestling World but honestly, how much different is it gonna be from the PS2 version I already have?

what is everybody's game of the year?

mine is Spider Man, that game is pure fun

still haven't played Red Dead 2
Soul Calibur VI. Granted, I haven't played any of the big games (God of War, Red Dead, Spiderman), but I'm having so much fun playing as 2B in SC6. The game itself is great, but adding a character from one of my favorite games of all time puts it on another level.

Come to think of it, the only games I played that were released last year are Soul Calibur VI, Conan Exiles, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Happy Drummer, and Astro Bot: Rescue Mission. And even those I got once they went on sale, or free with backing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I rarely buy games at launch. Though I will be getting Resident Evil 2 when it comes out.

For those of you interested in the Spider-Man DLC (City that never sleeps) I would recommend it.

Part 1 was great, but I was worried when part 2 was pretty much just a rehash of old side games from the first part, however things improve immensely with the final part. Great story with new side missions. I would say more fun would have been had if all three "episodes" were released in one large chunk, but hey, what can you do?
They already did if you bought the "package", which is cheaper than buying all three separately.

I'm going to wait for a sale though--a little pricey for DLC. Won't likely happen until mid-or late-year.

My final purchase list:

Uncharted Lost Legacy

Last of Us: Left Behind (Stand Alone)

The Last Guardian

Shadow of the Colossus Remastered (I'm still going to cry when Argo has his moment)

Lara Croft GO

The Final Station

Worms WMD

Total: $124

Total after discount: $49

-20% code: $38

The Jak collection was only crossbuy if you got a physical copy new i believe.

After no discount code in the last PSN e-mail before the sale ends I finally made the rest of my purchases. I had been waiting for Fear Effect: Sedna to be 50% off instead of just 40%, but it ended up going to 75%. These are my purchases throughout the year-end sales. Going back to Black Friday.

I ended up with:

Resident evil 7 gold
Kingdom hearts 1.5 + 2.5
Spyro reignited
Metal gear solid hd trilogy
Castlevania Harmony of despair
Suikoden 1 + 2
Tomb raider 1,2,3, last revelation
Legacy of Kain: blood omen and soul reaver

Grabbed Tooth and Tail, Werewolves Within, and Mr Shifty after debating then for a bit. Still waiting for SC6 pass and Undertale.

Whew after many many hours I finally did the impossible I got the mad max platinum. Now to go for bulletstorm plat.
Bulletstorm plat on PS3 was grindy AF. I don't know how the dlc being attached to it will affect it, but I know that PS3 plat is one of the rarer ones I have. good luck! Find a boosting partner who knows what they're doing.

Y'all are nuts. The grindiest trophies I got were for Digimon Cyber Sleuth (rng based trophies are fucking ridiculous) and One Piece Pirate Warrior 3. I saw the amount of stuff needed for Mad Max and noped right out of there.

I couldn't help myself and checked the UK PSN store deals finally, and decided to get

- Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel - 78% off

- PaRappa The Rapper Remastered - 45% off

- PaRappa The Rapper 2 - 50% off

- Tetraminos - 68% off

- Fu'un Super Combo - 66% off

I bought a few things from the UK PSN also... some of these have never been discounted in the US.

Polybius

Battlestar Galactica Deadlocked

Star Hammer : Vanguard Prophecy

Rabi Ribi

Megaton Rainfall

Kromaia Omega

The Resident Evil 2 One-Shot demo was so fantastic. I didn't expect to actually finish it within the 30 minutes, but I somehow did with 18 seconds to spare. The atmosphere was really tense and the lighting was very well-done, as were the zombies.

12 days to go...

cyber sleuth had trophies attached to dlc as well. I don't recall any rng trophies however.

I had planned on not playing a demo if one came out, but it being a limited time demo changed that. I don't want to miss out on playing a release. If it wasn't limited timed I would have played it after playing through the full game.

It kind of sucks that the demo will stop working at the end of the month, but it's also kind of smart. I didn't play the Prey demo until over a year after the game came out. The demo sold me on the game. If I had played the demo earlier I would have bought the game earlier. The RE2 demo being available for a limited time will spur more people to check it out around launch.

Hand of fate 2 is absolutely amazing and was worth the 22 bucks.

I love the first one and this improves on many things. If you've never played the first one you can play either, the first one is solid on its own and one doesn't require the other, even though the dealers the same so there are some carryovers. The only issue I could see is that if you love number two so much that you wanted more you have to go backwards.

The game is a sort of massive deck builder with action combat. You have missions with set decks and get to add your own encounter cards, equipment cards, excetera. As you beat missions you unlock more cards that you can that include in other missions. The dealer then deals out some of the encounter cards and the order that you face them drastically changes the game. Each Mission differs wildly and there are some pretty great ideas thrown in. Each Mission drastically affects what cards you might want to include and how you play the game.

Where this truly shines is that it allows missions within missions. For example, you may have an encounter card where if you can solve it it deletes that car from your collection of cards and adds a new one. These are like subplots. Like, for 1 you need to collect dead bodies during a plague. You can keep playing this card until you finally collect enough bodies, and then if you choose to give these bodies to someone clearly odd, it turns out that guy is a necromancer. So the collect bodies encounter is deleted, and now in future missions you can include a new necromancer mission. When you finally finish that card during a mission, a new card is unlocked excetera. In this way during main missions you slowly unlocked and you forward in card-based missions. Some of these subplots are very hard, but can ultimately unlock great equipment for future games.

Different cards have drastically different effects. Some get equipment or food or health, some are quite dangerous. Various main missions have very different things going on making certain cards better for them, so unlocking cards is always good.

Many cards are based on games of luck or skill. For example, you may need to accomplish certain die roll. One card, for example, requires an 18 with three dice. Thankfully, if you choose to include this encounter in your mission, you should also include other cards that will help. Maybe you add a monk encounter that will give you a blessing that allows you to reroll your lowest die. You include a companion that allows you to roll a fourth die. You add a equipment card that is a ring that adds 2 to all rolls. You add a easy encounter that rewards a ring to get said ring. Basically, you stack your deck with cards that you find to accomplish certain purposes. Luck still plays a role, but it's managed.

Combat encounters are a sort of batman style combat. Parrying, dodging, etc. The equipment you've acquired during each encounter can really help. There are many different types of enemies and combat can get pretty intense. In some ways combat is the weakest link oh, but I think it's improved enough over the first that's it's not really a problem. In the first was adequate, now it's pretty good

As I said I really love hand of fate. This one really amps everything up and adds a lot to the experience.

I got Hands of Fate 2 so cool for the review. I know it got some flak when it was released. I really enjoyed the first other than it got a bit repetitive cause of the way the card system worked and going through the same stuff over and over to try to unlock new cards. Still was a fun game.

It's still somewhat repetitive at times, though for me each game is different enough due to card selection and missions that I don't really feel it.

It helps that the main missions are so varied in setup and they really added a lot of variety at that level. If I remember correctly the first game was set up based around the four different suits of cards. Hand of Fate 2 is set up around the tarot. There's something like 18 or 20 missions, some with particularly hard subgoals. Some also have alternate versions if you take certain equipment.

I can see some people burning out on this. There's a ton of content and things to unlock. But I'm probably 90% finished and will be sad when I'm done.

I didn't read reviews at launch because I knew I was eventually getting it. I did hear it got patched so perhaps that fixed whatever people were having issues with

At least I just discovered Rebel Galaxy is getting a sequel soon. That's probably my favorite PS Plus game, and a favorite of this generation.

For anyone wondering: I got darkest dungeon. For years I thought it was a dumb indie game.

My verdict: Very addictive if you like challenging, tactical games (like XCOM or something). Lots of grinding, tho, but still keep coming back for the loot, strategy.

Is sonyrewards still a cluster for everyone else? The site is near unusable, and if I look at my history every date has blank events and +0 instead of whatever I actually earned. If I click into passes I just get a sort of title screen about passes....

it works fine for me, the passes are still undergoing maintenance, for whatever they are changing them to. also i think the +0 points are just their way of keeping track of your pass activity. like you get a platinum trophy and it shows up there to keep track, as far as i can tell all of my actual purchases have points besides them.

I thought this years Holiday sale was much better than last year.
I got two games for vita that I have been waiting a long time for a good deal.

I bought the following for PS Vita and PS4.

Valkyria Revolution (Vita) $14.99
Secret of Mana (Vita) $14.99
Spellspire (Vita/PS4) $3.99
Feist (PS4) $4.99
Sundered (PS4) $4.99

It is for me, nothing posted for since November and have no clue how much I earned so far. Since it's going to be 1X on everything anyways there's nothing to check on that front though. There used to be an incentive to use the card, not any more.

What's everyone's thoughts who also bought The Final Station?

I'm enjoying it, especially for its survival-esque rationing when it comes to ammo and health. Some areas are just inundated with the shadow creatures that I'll pop off a few rounds to thin the herd and then start slugging with my fist.

I just acquired the laser sight which will be instrumental at getting those headshots for armored shadows. Too many pings off the chest.

The mood is so beautifully done for the world and the backgrounds, but the lack of instruction made getting my first few passengers through safely was difficult at maintaining the train itself. I've gotten a handle on it now, but it was just unsettling to go to the front of the train, a passage of time happens and come back to find everyone in a puddle of mush.

I just played it on Switch. I was really impressed by it. It is a little obtuse and I ended up wasting my first couple med packs but that added to the feel of the game. Really amazing that such a simple looking game can be so tense. A little 8-bit Resident Evil lol. The DLC is good too, similar but without the keeping people alive element so the breaks between levels are actually a chance to relax.

Admittedly, I breathed a sigh of relief when I finally reached a safe station after like five or six haunted ones in a row. The ammo kept getting lower and lower even after finds that you really have to start picking when those last six bullets are worth spending and on what, praying that the next time you make it back to the train the next stop isn't infected.

Hopefully they put the DLC on PS4--I might be inclined to buy it. But at $1.49 this was a real treat for the price!

This is the best haul I've seen in awhile. So many on your list that I paid so much more for, it makes me want to cry.

I haven't earned jack shit since October and the site still says it's in the process of being fixed. I've written it off for good, so much for that incentive.

I haven't posted anything in awhile because I've been depressed. I haven't bought anything from this 5-week holiday sale, I'm still holding out until the end of today for a possible 20% code in email or from the defunct live.playstation.com. I've got at least 20 on my list I want to purchase, so that would only cover about half of them anyway. Seriously, those fucking cheapasses at Sony are never going to give us anything again, are they?

I got the following e-mail response from Sony Rewards customer support (I haven't received any points since September):

Thank you for contacting Sony Rewards online support.

We are currently experiencing a delay posting your earned points. Our team is actively working to fix the issue. ,

We appreciate your patience and continued support.

Kind Regards,

The Sony Rewards team

Yes! It's a huge relief when you finally get to a safe station lol.

My bad. The Only Traitor was included in the Switch version but I guess it's a separate download on PSN for $4.99. https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP0097-CUSA06151_00-THEONLYTRAITOR00

You're a different character (with a baseball bat!) and there are new enemy types. Combat felt a little tougher. It was fun and expanded more on the story.
