That was actually software BC... It was only partial BC and Sony retired it pretty quickly.

I was going to mention that around the time they posted the 2 free games for this month. Likely, all they were going to get was negative comments so they disabled it. They don’t give a shit about us, they’re just protecting their brand. Still, I’m curious why PushSquare would rescind that article unless Sony reached out to them in some way.

Or Sony knew what reaction would be and just turned off comments a few weeks in advance...

Honestly, I cannot imagine any sort of maintenance that would take weeks to do on something as simple as a blog.

You’d think that but look at Sony Rewards. They fucking launched it unfinished and it remains unfinished currently. It’s been over half a year. They have a bunch of amateurs in their infrastructure department.

And hell, I can’t even do something as simple as a text search on the PS App where while I’m typing, my text box randomly closes and I click on something completely unrelated. That shit has been going on since I started using the app when it came out.

For those not paying attention, Dead or Alive 6 has the worst costume unlock system ever created. In previous games, beating arcade mode would unlock a costume for the character you used (or 2 costumes in tag mode). In DoA6, you get "parts" of a random costume for a random character.

Beating arcade mode awarded ONE part for a costume that costs 1000 parts. After getting the 1000 parts, you have to spend in game currency to actually get the costume. Quest mode gives more parts, but there are only so many quests (you probably won't get the costume you wanted after beating all the quests).

They basically put a F2P system in a $60 game. Koei Tecmo greed is insane.

Am I the only DoA player that doesn't give a shit about costumes? Yeah, the unlock system is kind of lame but the game seems very solid outside of that.

EDIT: Just saw that they will be patching the the way the costume parts are awarded in mid-March. Probably come with the patch that adds online lobbies.

Mine YLOD'd back in 2014. I had mine repaired by a place called Quickfix which was located in Oklahoma. The PS3 is still going strong (knock on wood). I found them through an ebay search. Unfortunately, the seller is no longer a registered user on ebay it seems. They charged $90 for the repair and were excellent through the entire process. Gave constant updates through phone calls and emails. Maybe give ebay a shot and see if a similar repair place still exists.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, it wouldn't be hard to imagine the people tasked with whatever fix or update they were supposed to do being immediately taken off that project and put on something else suddenly deemed more important.

Unlocking costumes/colors is a feature of many fighting games, and usually a major one for the DoA series.

They've updated the launch bonus (that runs until March 14) to be 100x the normal rate. At 100x it feels normal.

 
Still having that Kingdom Hearts 3 issue.
I can download it through my system, but it shows as me not owning it on their website.

I wonder if it's because I used a voucher card from Best Buy to buy the digital version, instead of buying it through the PSN store.

Yeah, mine finally conked out after 8 years, sent it back in for repairs (lost all my saves and data), but I can still play my PS2's, though EA games are hit and miss. I want to play NBA Street 2 and SSX2 so bad again, but the latter usually freezes halfway into a match and Street will just pick a time to freeze.

The only publisher I have a problem playing oldies with on it.

Try restoring the license.

Restore PlayStation®4 Licenses

This process will help restore the licenses for all your games and add-on content you have purchased.

Step 1: Log into the PSN that purchased the content in question.
Step 2: Go to [Settings] > [Account Management], and select [Restore Licenses]. Click [OK] when done.
Step 3: Go to the [PS4™ Library] > [Purchased] and select the game in question.

For games, select [Download] to start the download process.
For downloadable game content (add-ons, themes and avatars), select [PlayStation Store] to find the digital content in question. If the content has already been downloaded, it will display as [Purchased]. Add-on content for games may have in-game requirements or milestones in order to be unlocked. You may need to check with the publisher of the game to understand how to access in-game content.

Step 4: Once the download is complete, the game will appear on the PS4™ home screen.

Last year, I was most impressed by the mid-year sale (July). To me, it's the only "major" sale that stacks up to the holiday sales. The rest is a crapshoot (depending on what you're looking for, I guess).

As I recall, there was a spring flash sale last year, but not the huge Easter blowout that EU and other regions got. I remember that left an indelible impression in my mind.

As I said when they announced it last year, them removing 4/6 games (especially when some of them were crossbuy) and replacing them with NOTHING is bullshit ESPECIALLY when it's only been a year or so since the price increase.

And no the online storage upgrade doesn't count. Steam/Origin/Uplay/Epic have infinite cloud storage for free and so does MS (on Xbone). The online storage upgrade should have happened as extra value to justify the last price hike (which would have made it go over far better), not as a substitute for 48 games a year.

Just another greedy shortsighted decision. Guarantee they'll follow in MS' footsteps on top of this and have meh PS+ freebies so they can shill PSNow's additions instead.

Lower the price or at least throw in another game, you cheap fucks.

This is a very poor setup - kids need their own accounts for reasons precisely like this. But now that you've gone down this road, if you make him his own account he'd have to start over in Fortnite.

 
Anyone still active in Rocket League? Sent Frisky a friend request to join the CAG club but no response. Prefer ranked 3s (hover between Gold 3 and Plat 1) but 2s are fun too.

I agree and I finally figured out how to get around this issue. Since I don't play games nearly as much as my kids, they will use my main account w/ PS+ on the PS4 downstairs. On my PS4 upstairs, I "Activated it as the primary" and will begin playing games on a separate account. I believe this set up will prevent the issue I was having with constantly getting logged off and I will still have access to the digital game library from my main account which is exactly what I want. I rarely play online multiplayer so I think this set up should be fine for me. I was hoping I could just copy over my saved data from my personal account to this secondary account, but it's not possible.

It still sounds like you need to just pull the trigger and figure out individual accounts for them. Maybe you sort of did by giving them your account though? Your problem is only going to get worse if you don't make sure to get separate accounts now. I struggled with this for awhile and finally figured out that I should have tried not to share accounts from the start.

Also, not to be a wolf in the hen house here, but Xbox tends to be more friendly for family sharing and multiple accounts if you happen to have those consoles too or want to invest in that. Xbox will cloud save anyone on the console if there is Gold for a user and it's their primary console. Also, they have more flexibility with game sharing since you can do it on any console and not just the primary/home console with a workaround. These and other things are issues i've noticed as advantages over Playstation for family setups.

 
It's not listed on the sale page, but if you're like me and you still only have the Final Fantasy XV base game, both the Royal Pack and the Season Pass are $7.49 each, making what I guess is basically the Royal Edition $15. So HU.
