I'm hoping Sony pulls some magic and figures out a way to install disc games and then let you play said games without the disc inserted. One can only hope lol

Probably because Xbox has like none of the Japanese-style game player base and MS and the publishers want to increase buy-in on that platform.

Do you still have to save every character in Pixel Junk Monsters 2 to progress to the next level?

In the first one that was not required to progress, so wondering if that’s still the case for the 2nd one.

Not really, but to get all of the difficulties for each stage, you do. There are three difficulties per stage, so it's not just one for the entire game.

While I don't think it was too much of a waste buying what you specifically wanted you could probably have filled 4 of those remaining slots with dlc that never goes on sale that you may want.  That's typically what I do anyway.

I mean both are great games and I would highly recommend them to anyone to try.

But somehow I feel like it's very lackluster.  I can't explain why.  Not only because it's 2 instead of 6.  Maybe I'm expecting a higher retail price.  Maybe I'm expecting AAA games (which does not always mean quality).  Maybe because I own them both already and I'm sure millions of others do.

I don't want to call it the worst month but I sure feel shortchanged...

No if you compare it to the very early days of PS+ but standards have changed so much since then so I certainly wouldn't fault anyone who considered it the worst month ever.

That said on a personal level Edith Finch is one of those games I figured I'd play when it hit PS+ so, cool I guess. Absolutely no interest in overcooked though for a multitude of reasons so I am actually disappointed in that slot.

E3 is next month, this is it. So, terrible sales and discounts, no 20% off coupons, no free $10 PSN gifts and now you are lucky to not already own 1 or both games offered on plus. I can see why the service has been so heavily discounted lately. On black Friday I stocked up on 4 years of it when it was $30 and I still feel ripped off. At least I held off buying Edith Finch which gives me 1 free game I don't already have.

I'd stock up on water and essentials; look up the local disaster bunker/crypt and quickly get acquainted with my favorite god creatures. That's just me, though...

I forgot they have E3 in June now. Edith Finch is a fine title but the Overcooked being offered isn’t the sequel and it isn’t even the Gourmet Edition. I’m quite shocked at the overall value being offered for this month. I still have hope that things will improve but I think this month is an example of quality and not value. I do really miss the 20% codes, though. You’re right that the other freebies have been going the wayside. Last year Sony has already given away a few 20% off codes by around this time and this year nada.

Bought two PS4 Pro Red Dead Bundles during the holidays (x1 for me, x1 for the kids) and got a 20% off coupon in each. Had been holding out to use the second one and decided to use it yesterday since there were x4 games I wanted to purchase (Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session!; Dragon Ball Z Fighterz; Batman VR; Drunkn Bar Fight VR). Went to use it and cart would not accept it (likely can only use this type of coupon once per account).

Contacted Sony support in hopes they could override it and they actually did (provided me a new 20% off code that worked). Quite a different experience than I have had in the past. Matter of fact, the last x2 encounters have been pretty pleasant. I wonder if management got the memo that their customers were getting pretty upset by the way support had been treating issues in the past.

Just kidding. This month is a bummer for me. Basically, I think i'm going to feel short-changed on any month where there isn't a AAA title in the offerings. I rarely enjoy indie games and don't even get around to playing a lot of AAA games, but at least a free AAA game makes me feel like I'm getting more of my money's worth or, better yet, making Sony spend more of their money to provide value.

Also, I do like guns, so maybe that is part of it...
