I did a bit of digging and there were similar sales back in 2016 and 2017, so I think there's a good chance we're going to get another one tomorrow.

Based on how (1) there are 300+ items in that sale, (2) it lasts another week, and (3) Sony has been on an arrogant streak lately, I'd say the chances of another huge mid-year sale starting today are slim. I have no idea if there was a concurrent PS+ sale last year, but I'm just banking on the fact that they've done it three years in a row. Here are the dates in the past:


2016: 6/28-7/12
2017: 6/27-7/11
2018: 7/3-7/17

I think if they did it next week, it wouldn't technically be "mid-year," it would be a little past that. Maybe they could make it up with a decent flash sale? Honestly, I've been looking forward to this since January; there hasn't been a good sale (for me) since December.

I would have considered PES and Detroit Deluxe a solid (but not amazing) month.

Sounds to me more like a problem Sony ran into with PES.. sports game licencing or something?  There have been worse months and they didn't bat an eye at the complaints when they gave us abysmal offerings like Drawn to Death or whatever.

I also have already purchased Detroit and Heavy Rain.. but at least I "own" them.  A great move for the people who do not.

So here's my question: I own Detroit standard edition and Heavy Rain (PS+ title)...can I still add the deluxe game and get the rest of the extras or does that with the whole thing?

True. There's no way they didn't get the racing game for practically nothing, PES was probably the more expensive of the two by a wide margin.

I was able to claim the deluxe edition and it added everything except for Heavy Rain (since I had already had it). So now I have a digital (Plus) version and a physical version of Detroit. Can't complain, I guess; all I wanted were those extras.

I'm ing dying waiting for them to update the store today.

Is Playgrounds 2 any good?

I have it on PC. It's solid and fun, and certainly an improvement in most ways over the original.

Leveling players is significantly different, and it's why I haven't sunk more time into it, as the first I could half focus on the game and focus on clearing out the DVR too. Now, you have to do certain milestones in certain modes with each player... Most aren't hard but you will find yourself almost trying to lose games because you need so many rebounds, etc.

Playgrounds 1, I had every player (in the base game) to max level, in Playgrounds 2... I might have 3 before it wore me down.

Am I the only one that thinks the switch had to have come from Konami's end? Sony has factually NEVER listened to customer complaints about PS+ games before, so why on earth would they care all of a sudden? Being that the replacement was a first party title tells me this was a last minute issue with Konami and they had to scramble.

No way is it because of a bunch of whiners when both services have offered sports titles before.

No. If you read past pages you'll see posts saying what you more or less just posted. There's no way this is a response to customer complaints.

But I don't think Sony had to scramble very far - Detroit was probably already a done deal for PS+ in the next month or two and was just pushed forward.
