They were free only for about a month leading up to the release of the first two games on PSN. They're not free anymore.

WAIT WHAT!!! *runs to ps3*:bouncy:

Darn it, just read Frisky's post:cry:
Demon's Souls is the best game this gen, with its only competition being Dark Souls. Do not be afraid of the rumored difficultly... it is not hard, rather it just punishes mistakes and not being careful (like, deciding to jog around a corner rather than being on guard at all times). If you give it the time and acclimate to it's gameplay, you will be rewarded with one of the all time best gaming experiences of your life.

Also, while losing souls feels terrible to the new player, it's not really as bad as it sounds. First, you can go pick them up... but even if you don't, it's not a big deal. People beat the game with intentionally low level characters all the time. Take it slow. And don't bring a long sword into a tunnel unless you feel like hitting the wall while the enemy with a short sword cuts you open.
I liked it, I just had no idea what to do in that nether region between levels where you can buy stuff. I didn't know what was helpful and what wasn't.

shaq fuuuu my life

i just bought SC: broken destiny like 2 weeks ago when it was on sale, it's a very nice port of sc4

i really hope they make a sequel for vita, but i doubt it

Well I'm off to try and finish some PS+ games. I knew I should have started Darksiders, that's 18GB in itself. Probably knock out Closure pretty fast, and a few of the other smaller games. I really should just buy a new HDD though:roll:

not a bad update, Malicious looks good I have been waiting to try that game for a while now so I'm happy that I'm getting it for free. Labyrinth Legends looks good too, at least from that gameplay video, Demon's Souls is obviously great but I already have a physcal copy.

i might actually buy my 1st ps3 this week thanks to demons souls on ps+ and my 3rd 360 taking a crap

didn't they shut down the servers already though ?

Very nice month for PS+!

That's a good deal ($8) on Rainbow Moon as well for anyone who hasn't played it yet. For an independent SRPG, it is very impressive and well worth a purchase, even if it doesn't really stack up to the major SRPGs produced by NISA and Square.

They announced once or twice that they were planning on doing so, but they ended up changing their mind and extending the server lifetime.

Nope sony kept it up

Save your money for the vita version.
I had no idea Rainbow Moon was coming to Vita. Consider my money saved.
How does Demon's Souls difficulty compare to Dragon's Dogma? That game was rough in the beginning when you're just starting, but by midway into the game, your skills let you annihilate everything in your path. Are the controls as responsive as Dogma's?
I haven't played DD yet, but I've plat'd both Demon's and Dark Souls.

The games get called difficult (in fact, are famous for it) but they're not truly difficult in the traditional sense. Like, they aren't hard like, say, Ninja Gaiden. However, the D*Souls games are definitely old school and unforgiving in their own way. The controls are actually quite simple -- you can block, and you can do a couple of attacks. Your weapon and gear setup play a big role in this, as you have a stamina bar and your load can slow you down.

However, if you make a mistake, death can come quick. You can not button mash - you'll wipe out your stamina and even a low level skel will have your head on a plate. You can't just run around into the unknown, or else, once again, head on plate. But if you take it slow and learn your terrain and enemies, it's a gorgeous experience. Swordplay feels absolutely correct; swing a long sword in a tunnel, and it'll deflect off the wall rather than connect. It's not difficult to beat enemies... it's just easy to beat yourself, as you try to get in one extra swing or otherwise do something wrong... when you die, you know you earned it.

The other thing that turns off some new players is losing your souls. Killing enemies earns souls, which are both cash and experience. You can go collect your souls where you died if you can get back there on your next life, but still, some people lose their minds when they lose 30k souls. But with experience, comes the knowledge that losing souls isn't really that big of deal. There are always more, and heck, you can even have a ton of fun helping others kill their bosses (in the most inventive and original online coop system i've ever seen) and rack up tons of souls fast if you want to.

You will die. And if you decide to take on certain enemies too early, they will kill you. Period. But just go reclaim your souls, and try a different direction. You're meant to die. Heck, it's part of the game. But you're also meant to learn. And as you learn the game, it'll suddenly click and you'll understand why so many of us swear by it.

I have a $20 playstation network card... Should I get Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation and pay the extra $16.00 out of pocket? How is the game?

I didn't mind Demon Soul's combat, soul loss, difficulty, etc.

Starting over at the beginning of a level upon death didn't just become annoying though, it felt archaic having to wait for the same dragon to breathe fire across a bridge before you could cross it, having to kill the same wolves that can attack through walls for some reason, etc.

Maybe in a handheld game, where I can invest more time, but in a console game, nah.

nice, Demon's Souls, feel free to ask questions in the thread in the PS3 forum. The Royal is the easiest starting class if you are worried about the diffiiculty, it starts with a spell which can kill most normal enemies in one shot in the first level and a ring which regens your MP.

Nice plus update, I haven't yet tried Demon's Souls, thanks to all of you guys for explaining the game and it's difficulty rep.

Other games look cool to ok. Malicious is a 67 at metacritic, but could be interesting, no risk in trying it.

I'm actually pretty excited for SC. I find fighting games really relaxing, so they're good to have on the Vita, and I was bummed that there didn't seem to be a PS3 digital SC game, so this is win-win for me.

Don't let that fool ya, Malicious is a solid experience. The art style is amazing, plus the combat can be pretty good. The main problem with it was length, since there are only 6 (if I recall) bosses and can easily be completed in an hour without rushing.

off topic kinda, but started up knytt underground tonite, my son loves watching me play it and fell asleep while i was just walking around, lol. but i noticed it is rated M for sexual themes and strong language. so strange considering the art style, but i guess they just went over the edge with the text balloons? idk, just found it weird.

same thing with sine mora. odd. lol

It's a decent game. Much better than any of the portable ACs to come before it. The main character is really interesting, but the story doesn't do her much justice. Gameplay-wise, it feels a lot like a console AC but on a smaller scale. Missions are more basic and similar to AC2 rather than AC3. The outfit mechanic is cute but gets old. Not a bad game, but I'm not sure I would pay $36 for it.

Also worth noting that there is a bug that will randomly corrupt your save file and, to my knowledge, hasn't been patched yet. I never experienced it though.

I guess I should trade my Demon's Souls. I have never played it but I might as well get something for it if I have it for "free" now.

Playstation store is down right? It's not just my Vita not connecting? I really wanted to download Tekken 6, but I'm having no luck connecting.

I looked into DOA, but it seems to be really overly 'large breasted women' oriented, which doesn't appeal to me. Is it actually a decent fighting game?

I've been wanting to try out the Demons/Dark Souls games, but the talk about the difficulty always keeps me away. Now, I can try it with no real investment...I'm happy with this update.

I loved Knytt. Not sure how far you are yet, but eventually they start making quite a few sexual jokes and such through the conversations. Also, they just all of a sudden ramp up the swearing in chapter three for some reason.

This PS+ Preview video for Demon's Souls will be nice, as I take on and defeat my first boss. Should be up in the morning along with the other videos that I'm working on after that.

awesome. hopefully your video will alleviate any of the whining about how hard it is once they see a true master get through the first boss/level, lol. Use fire on it yo!

i loved how most levels, or some anyway, have shortcuts once you get so far so you don't have to run through the entire level again.

also yeah i didnt even beat chapter 1 on knytt, just started, but still good stuff. metroidvania, yup.

also don't flip demon's souls, you really can't get much for it, and it's a game you should hold on to for when/if your ps+ ever expires. i already regret flipping my spec ops last week for like $10 at gamestop, doh. oh wellz. i got bioshock 1 for free with infinite, but flipping is so low might as well keep for keepsake.

According to some google results, seems the NPCs drop the f-bomb a lot enough to warrant the M rating, I guess (plus what captaintek3304 said). Kind of bugs me ESRB will give you details as to why a game earns its rating if it's retail, but not if it's XBLA/PSN/Nintendo eShop.

Though for Sine Mora, I've heard the story gets kind of dark, which is the reason it got a M-rating. Just some text that appears after you beat the level.

Yeah the game is fine for the first two chapters and can pass for an E10-T game. When it gets to chapter 3 it takes a full 180 and becomes really vulgar and certain characters talk about sex acts, sexual jokes and cheating.

After loving the first 2/3s of Knytt, it finally started to drag near the end. It's not that the game got any worse, but the exploration finally started to feel like a grind.

Knytt was still a very good game. I enjoyed the characters (one of which does have an extremely foul mouth) and the "story" was fine. I don't think I've ever played a game quite like Knytt.

rpg, clear some space in your PMs!

Yes AC3:L has a patch that supposedly addresses the corruption issue, but people are still experiencing it with fresh saves. See the ps3trophies AC3:L forum for more details (I can't post links).

That said, if you're diligent about cloud syncing your save, you can avoid losing ALL of your progress.

Knytt's story gets pretty dark/bleak in the 3rd chapter as well.

I like the ending though,
when you find out all she wished for was an awesome sandwich recipe.

A few protips for Soldner-X newcomers:

-Start on the easiest difficulty and move up as you're able to clear the campaign. It's pretty hard up front and you will earn more lives/continues as you play it more, so it'll get easier the more you play the game.

-Make sure you are doing the chains by switching when the bar turns green, as completing chains unlocks power-ups to collect that can help a lot. Chaining well will cause it to rank up and give you better rewards, so it's a useful feature to use. The sequel does something different with that system.

Haha.
I didn't unlock the secret ending or a lot of the other trophies, like I said I was burnt out by the end and didn't feel like messing with the game too much more. Just watched the secret ending on YouTube right now, that is pretty funny.

Apologies if already posted.

XSEED Games:

To all Ragnarok Odyssey hunters:

This is a friendly reminder that the following 3 DLC for Ragnarok Odyssey,

RAGNAROK ODYSSEY: GUNSLINGER OUTFIT
RAGNAROK ODYSSEY: NINJA OUTFIT
RAGNAROK ODYSSEY: TAEKWON KID OUTFIT

will be deactivated and removed from PSN when the PSN Store gets updated on 4/2/13. If you haven't downloaded them yet we encourage players to do so before tomorrow's update!!
Happy hunting!
Apologies if already posted.
Thank you, I downloaded them just in case I might get the game in the future

So I have not started Infinite but I thought this was the strangest tweet right now.

Last chance: Spec Ops: The Line departs the PS Plus Instant Game Collection on Tuesday. A great choice if you enjoyed Bioshock Infinite.
