Aaaand my post got deleted again. Somebody clearly doesn't like me asking questions around here or saying wholehearted, good, neutral things about trophies for both sides of the camp. Great to feel welcomed here guys! :D I was going to ask something about Dragon Fantasy but now I'm scared to.

Somebody must have reported the posts or a mod didn't like the discussion, though I don't know why. It was already over at this point.
 
Okay, playing through Demon's Souls courtesy of PS+ and have beaten the first boss, all without dying so far (except at the end of the tutorial). Can't say I'm a fan of the stamina gauge or rather, how much it drains for every little action, even blocking. I always play as a mage/magic user in similar-themed RPGs (Skyrim, Amalur, Dragon Age, etc.), so I guess I'm just not used to managing stamina.

Actually I asked a question ABOUT them being deleted like an hour afterwords and that got deleted so I was singled out :p. Not like it really bothers me, just thought I'd throw out my opinion on it.

No problem excited to support this developer. A bunch ofmy friends met him at paxand said he was the coolest indie they met. After playing this i can jump into book 2 soon enough.

That's my biggest complaint about it to.

Dragon's Dogma uses it a little better, None used with standard attacks, hpwever some of drained with special techniques or running. Prefer that style of play much better.
 
I wouldn't change Demon's Souls stamina system for anything. It's part of what makes the combat so different and amazing. If none was used for 'standard attacks' it would turn combat into standard 'mash-buttons'. And same for blocking... it wouldn't be the same if you could just stand there with a shield up forever. You need to actually dance with your opponents, unlike pretty much any similar game out there.

I have to agree. The sword play in both Souls games and in The Witcher 2 are both the best I've found in games so far. Something about it in both of those games just clicks with me.

Oh yeah almost forgot, so the general consensus here is that Dragon Fantasy 1 is a good catch at the ps plus price? I've had my eye on it for iphone but never seemed to get around to buying it. I'll either get it now or wait until all 3 books are out for it and just marathon through all of em. What are other people planning?

Gunna pick them up as they come out. Ive heard the vita version has some inhancements and well....trophies.

^I'm definitely considering the psp GTA games as those are the only ones I have yet to play. Love expanding my digital Vita library! Man do I need a new memory card though. I hope there is another good sale for 16gb or 32gb by this summer at the least or I'm gonna be in trouble.

The prices for the PS3 titles are solid, but does anyone else feel like it's a slap in the face for the PSP titles, when Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories are available as PS2 classics for $9.99? Speaking as a non-Plus member, anyway.

Yep, same here my friend. My poor 32gb card I got on the cheap only has 1gb left on it. And that's AFTER I deleted a lot of stuff I beat or to make room for new things. I'd be down for a 64gb card, but I'm scared at what the prices would be. If they lower the prices of the other memory cards and have a new 64gb card available at the $100 or less price point (doubt it!) I'd sell my 32gb and trade up real fast.

It's definitely not a slap in the face, which is a huge buzzword in this thread, but I would have considered Vice City Stories (PSP) for $5 because it's the only one I haven't played. For $10, I'll be passing.

It's right, Gay Tony is still $20 on the store, so it will only drop to $10 for the sale. For those that don't have either, Episodes from Liberty City is the obvious choice.
 
Why is GTA3 SA more than GTA3 VC and GTA3? Is it considered to be so much better and worth 50% more?

I prefer Vice City and thought it was the best of the PS2 GTA's

Not a fan of the GTA series, so this week as far as deals go is a pass for me. Looking forward to the PSABR sale and possibly RE4, hope the discounts are a little steeper than this week but still good deals.
 
I've had GTA4 Complete sitting on my shelf for the longest time - GTA games feel like they require so much investment nowadays. Is it pretty liberal /quick about save locations and whatnot so it's pick up and play friendly?

Nah you shouldn't take my posts so seriously. I just like to make sure my point is gotten across without any confusion which is why I corrected Frisky. I may grumble about something now and then, but I'm a pretty easy going guy.

It's not really made for pick up and play sessions, as there are no checkpoints at all in missions in the main game. The DLC is supposed to be better at that stuff though.

All of the RE questions made me think this was the RE week, so they suck. If you want to know what's likely to be on sale, search for Resident Evil on the web store and divide those prices in half for an approximation of what's possible for PS+ members.

Haven't played Gay Tony yet, but The Lost & Damned was ok to play in short bursts. Missions weren't particularly long with plenty of opportunities to save. I didn't do much of the extra stuff, but I polished off all the missions in about 6-7 hours.

I've been waiting for a GTA sale for awhile now, going to use my $20 credit I got a few days ago to get GTA3, Vice City and Chinatown Wars. I might also get LBC and VC stories since they both have Vita support.
 
I bought San Andreas the last time it was on sale, but I think I'll finally rebuy IV since that's a ton of game for $15.

It's a good game that is sort of the Mega Man mixed with Shadow of the Colossus where you're free to take on stages in any order and beating the boss gives you their weapon to use against the others, though the stage itself just consists of the boss fight itself.

I'll do a video of that so you guys can see what it is.
 
I was actually interested in Malicious when it came out but not enough to pick it up. Very glad I'll be able to try it out now.
 
yeah how strange. i just got online and our whole trophy conversation was deleted. I guess it took a wrong turn somewhere and got nasty or something so that a mod had to delete it? crazy. When I had left last night we were all just chatting and having a good talk, but I guess people started getting too serious or something? idk. peace all tho and great thread always frisky.

also just watched some videos for dragon fantasy. that looks cute. dragon warrior / final fantasy early NES days? i remember getting Dragon Warrior for free with my Nintendo Power sub. Fun stuff.

I don't think it changed at all, so I don't know why it was deleted.
 
I have Vice and Liberty City stories on the PS2 in my backlog. I also have GTA:IV complete on the PS3 backlog.

I did enjoy GTA:Chinatown Wars on the DS. Might consider the PSP version.

I got San Andreas, Vice City, and GTA: III on my original Xbox. Played Vice City and just couldn't get into it. I ended up just rampaging with cheat codes. Might try GTA:III and San Andreas sooner or later.
 
I don't really have much interest in GTA, so this week is a pass for me as well. I'm kinda over R* games on PS3 after playing RDR. So many framerate, upscaling, other graphical issues for me to think about getting IV. And the classics are basically what it would cost for a physical PS2 copy. So unless the PS3 is good about upscaling stuff like that, I don't really see the point:whistle2:(

Hopefully PSABR is decently priced.
 
yeah i already traded my copy of psasbr at gamestop when it was $20 + bonuses, so i got $28 back. it dropped to 17tiv yesterday tho. hopefully it is 20 or cheaper plus it includes online pass and a 2nd version so i can play against my wife/kids on the other ps3 online. i had bought it used at bestbuy for 21 a few months ago (b2g1 used deal) but it didnt have online pass so that was a bummer. im hoping for 20 or cheaper, but i guess as long as 30 or cheaper im good. (altho 30 would be a bit much for sale, wouldnt it, especially if borderlands 2 was 20, but idk, i traded my copy of that also only 13tiv, ouch.)

also if you guys like gta, you should def check out sleeping dogs. i had lots of fun with that, but that's cuz im a Yakuza fan also and it was pretty much Yakuza/gta.

I'm guessing it will 50% off at least, so should be around $20. That is what I'm saying my $20 I got back from Sony for. :)
