Is there any real difference between the 360 and PS3 version of Code Veronica? I bought it for $5 on the 360, but the OCD in me is saying I need to have all the games on one system.

I love playing RE games and have five downloads when i picked up RE6 Anthology and was wondering if

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X
Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles
Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles

are the games worth the pick up???

Man, with the Chronicles and HotD overkill, PS3 is getting some serious light gun love.

Think it's time to get me a move setup. Anyone know where I could get a good deal on one?
I was in the process of buying Thomas Was Alone and saw the day one dlc and decided nope. I'll wait for the first non-PS+ sale, which could be while. It's disappointing but it's just something I don't like. I really wish it would have been included with the full game.
I played and loved Thomas was alone on it's release on Steam. The DLC available here isn't available anywhere else - it's not like content they had and chose not to include, it was specially developed with the Vita release in mind.

I abhor day one DLC - still haven't played Mass Effect 3 (sigh sigh sigh) because of it - hoping they'll release a platinum or greatest hits with all or most of the DLC on disc like they did with Mass Effect 2 eventually.

I don't think the DLC with Thomas Was Alone is anything close to the same situation, though.

Also time crisis razing storm.

which includes Time Crisis 4 and Deadstorm Pirates...

Though how can you forget Dead Space Extraction, The Shoot, The House of the Dead III, The House of the Dead IV and from what I understand Medieval Moves?

Totally forgot about extraction, and I just beat it. Memory fail.
I hated the shoot, the local co op is LOCKED, what kind of BS is that.

Edit: actually of the three games in razing storm, deadstorm pirates was my favorite.

Sears clearanced bundles out for $15 a few weeks ago, though they may all be gone by now. Sometimes K-Mart follows suit, though, so you could always check there.
My download code didn't include anything right off the bat as an unlockable but looking at the equip screen, there should be more costumes you unlock as you play the game along with some gallery/movie stuff as you play the "free hunt" after you beat a stage.

The game clocks in at around 1gig.
Oh I see, thanks for the info!
I bought the PS One RE games just for nostalgia's sake. Probably gonna skip the rest of those deals.
the crappy music they used to replace the original scary music will kill your nostalgia

it disappoints me to see that many people here will not get to experience the real game

I just played two levels of Umbrella Chronicles:
(1) It actually looks pretty nice, better than my expectations.
(2) Calibration is not perfect, although I did not experience drifting as I did in Extraction, but it is best that you have the sharpshooter that supports the dedicated reload button. That way you don't have to shake to reload, which sometimes messes up the calibration. Also you will be using the move button a lot to pick up items and melee, very much like extraction, so the pistol attachment is not a good choice.

I keep hearing about this music replacement.

Which of the PS1 RE games is this referring to?

I'm convinced. I'll probably buy it this weekend...

Put only about 20 mins into Star Trek and, so far, it feels like a very poor man's version of Uncharted. It's nice to have all the real voice actors but character movement is jerky and stiff and searching for collectibles (some of which have BioShock-esque story details) is extremely annoying as you must be in 'Tricorder Mode' for them to even appear.

Cheapy's twitter comments and pictures about the game have been quite hilarious lol.

It's for the dual shock version of Resident Evil Director's Cut. I actually don't think the music is all that bad, but it just feels wrong for Capcom to have this version up for what is essentially going forward an archive of this iconic title.
I'm sorry to inform you that your purchasing of a movie tie-in game on release and mention of it here, we've had to revoke your CAG privileges. Thanks for the impressions. I'll be debating these games all week. They look interesting enough, but I have enough unplayed lightgun games for PS3 that I definitely don't need these.
Thanks for the videos, unfortunately I had to turn them off as I felt the sudden need to stick a gun in my mouth just to end the boredom.
Really? I thought it looked pretty cool. I'm going to blast through the whole game tonight, I'm excited for it!

:applause:
I had decent hopes for this game when I first heard of it since I didn't realize a movie was coming out at the same time. Once I found out about the movie, my hopes were pretty much dashed. At least "a poor man's Uncharted" sounds better than descriptions of other media tie-in games like The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
Okami HD on sale please.
Seconded, though it sounds like too much teasing and a build-up for only a PSN sale (though maybe we can hope they'll do an Okami HD sale "in celebration of the sequel announcement," when the sequel gets released, or something like that).
Awesome! I'd prefer a new Okami (preferably not a WiiU exclusive) but wouldn't mind Okami HD on Vita either...

EDIT: Or Okamiden ported to the Vita with spiffy graphical update! I have the DS version still sealed, and I'd sell it in a heartbeat to play it on Vita.
Hahaha, all the Nintendo angst. What did they do to you?!?
Hahaha, all the Nintendo angst. What did they do to you?!?
Oh nothing at all. I just don't own a WiiU and don't plan to anytime soon, so a WiiU exclusive Okami sequel would do nothing for me.

As for Okamiden for the DS, I never played it because I was waiting to play Okami HD first (which I beat just last week) and I'm finding it harder and harder to pick up my old, fat DS since my nice brand new Vita has spoiled me.
TxK coming to Vita. No idea what it is...
Jeff Minter makes games in the vein of old Atari classics: pure gameplay with simple mechanics and largely vector art. While he keeps the style simple he doesn't constrain himself to the actual limits of the tech of those days, and blends in particle effects and far more elaborate systems and designs than could ever be dreamed of on older consoles. I've never really gotten into any of his games, they just haven't been for me, but he certainly has some interesting philosophy and puts a lot of love into his games. This one seems to be a reimagining of Tempest, which is playable here: http://my.ign.com/atari/tempest

That would be amazing (new Okami). I guess the HD version must have done pretty well if that is indeed what happens. Perhaps it will be the HD version getting a Vita port.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Okamiden port either, but a new chapter in the series would be much bigger (hopefully playable on Vita).

I really like how Thomas Was Alone does its commentary, which is just a separate audio feed that's constantly playing but is automatically muted by default. So my second run through the game will be with commentary while I get the collectibles, which I didn't even see before I looked at the trophy list to see why I barely earned any trophies. The collectibles are tiny black dots and there are two in each chapter.

It's trippy Tempest, unless you're saying you don't know what Tempest is either.

That's pretty cool. I think that may push me over the edge to pick it up. Good to know about the black dots too.

Well, I played almost all of the rail shooters except the Heavy Fire series, and I can say that the Chronicles are shaping up to be one of, if not the best enjoyable co-op shooter title. Extraction is only good for single player, and if you followed the Dead Space timeline. HoTD was great, but lacks the expansive background universe that RE has. Time Crisis has that limited continues issue. I think this price is really nice, especially if you already have funds in your wallet.

I hope you dont plan on sending that ps3 back after you mentioned in the other thread that it wasnt the one your brother wanted

Definitely not sending it back. Wouldn't screw someone else like that.

I wonder if they'd give me at least some promotional credit for the mixup, though.

Thanks. Wow, I'm terrible at that game, but it seems like something similar to this might be fun on Vita. (I don't play games on PC at all so I'm terrible with mouse and keyboard controls).

Why do you say it's one of the most enjoyable co-op shooters? I'd almost definitely be playing it alone, would that be a drawback to my enjoyment of the game?

I'm interested in this for the same reason. Last night I did a bunch of reading and concluded that I would probably at least pick up Darkside Chronicles and if I like that maybe then get UC as I love this genre of game, I used to own all the GunCon games I could get.

I absolutely loved HOTD: Overkill, and some say these chronicles games are as good or better, but a lot of people have put a "much better as co-op" label on them and I'll also only play them single-player.

I don't recall there being anything about these games that make it better suited for co op than other light gun games. I think they are just generally more fun (and easier) with a partner.

Both of the RE games are good buys at the price. I bought both of them for close to full price on the Wii and had no regrets. They are great fun for RE fans since a lot of it is reliving scenes from the first 3 or 4 games.
