Ok to derail here for a minute, so does that mean GOW I and II would be part of the IGC next month? But if that were the case, didn't Morgan state that they wouldn't put anything on sale that close to being PS+ free?

Or, is this just a glitch that I finally got to take advantage of? (Damn you AWD penny sale)

For ideally the last time, I suspect that GoW Collection is going to replace one of the yearly 3 (I2, A4O and LBP 2), which may or may not make it part of next months update. Remember last June we got the whole instant collection, so getting 3 more games to the usual 5 isn't absurd.

GoW was never announced to be on sale, though it's almost always on sale in other regions (maybe even the US, though I never cared to look prior).

Right now it's a glitch, though it's likely a replacement for the big 3. In either case, not like you really missed out. Those games have been on sale way too many times.

sorry if I'm dense. But, did sony say the main 3 would be replaced on a yearly basis?

Both are great games. Real gems. GOW 2 is just beautiful to look at. They graphic is leaps and bounds better that 1.

It's too bad they are not including the Origins collection for free as well. I haven't played those. Have platinumed both GOW 1 and 2.
Confirmed. Must be a glitch since it wasn't advertised, but I just snagged both of them.

What does the 1GB patch for Sleeping Dogs do? I don't remember anything needing it when it was on EU+. I'm pretty sure that the game didn't come with the three DLC packs that are bundled here, but I'd much rather have the HD space.

that 1 gig patch was just the ghost pig compat pack, it wasnt necessary on the disc version but gives you the golden gun after you beat it. but wow big patch. i guess mandatory now.

Has Dracula X or Castlevania Chronicles ever gone on sale?

As much as the Xbox 360 Castlevania games go on sale, I'd expect the PSN ones would too.

You can skip the 1 GB patch (it's not mandatory) if you'r not going to be purchasing any DLCs in the future, and you need the space.
ninja'd

7107 MB to download. Then there is a 1 GiB patch.
It was confirmed that Europe would be getting new games, though there hasn't been any word on the US. Since then most people have worked under the assumption that this would probably be true, since US is terrible when it comes to community things (like EU asking which genre they would like to see more of). Honestly though, it makes no sense for EU to get a new batch of year long titles and the US to get passed up. Furthermore, it would explain God of War HD, since that would be an oddly good title for a short lived addition.

I was able to snatch GOW 2 but I don't think I was able to get the first one. It said I already own it because of a full game trial that I never played. Either way, free is free.

I'm pretty happy about Sleeping Dogs but mostly bummed about the rest. I just bought that fighting game in the last fighting game sale which doesn't seem like that long ago. The last few months of games have been like that for me. It kind of makes me not want to buy games anymore. Lots of stuff tends to go free or on a heavy discount within a couple of months, if that. Don't get me wrong, I think that's a good thing, especially for a console. It's just a bummer sometimes when it happens so soon. Even worse when you buy too many games and haven't even touched one before it goes on sale / free.

Having said that, I do really want to buy Deadly Premonition: DC because it's a game I have been waiting to play for a long time and I don't really feel like it will drop price anytime soon. Has anyone here played it and have any opinions on it? I'd also really like DOA5+, but it's getting to the point where I own a hell of a lot of Vita games and the grab bag of PS+ vita games is getting slim for me.

I hear the Xbox version of DP is better than the DC version.

Figures the hour I'm off CAG, something goes free. Oh well, admiralvic is probably right about them becoming part of the year long selection. Not sure how this will work for getting new subs, as most have probably already played them, and the collection is so cheap anyway, but if so at least I will finally get to try the series out.

Sleeping Dogs is going to suck downloading, I can already tell. My PSN downloads are almost always awful anyway, and my internet has been weird lately, AND everyone else seems to be having slow downloads:cry:
I hear the Xbox version of DP is better than the DC version.
better in what way?

i loved it on xbox and bought the director's cut day one, then returned it after looking at my backlog. just waiting for a deal to pounce...

Graphics. I guess the graphics look worse and the hue isn't as good. I saw some images that confirmed this, plus a friend told me something similar.

ahh, well then. not enough to disuade me since the 360 version is still proudly on my shelf after its' playthrough.

i'm curious enough about the added cutscenes / plot elements / extended ending to take it for a whirl when i find a good price.

I bought DP: DC day one, but waiting til Thursday to start because I'll have a couple days off in a row. I'll post thoughts then . . . but in the meantime:

if you don't have a 360 and enjoy Twin Peaks and/or abstract characterization and story, Deadly Premonition shouldn't be missed. The original definitely has some janky control issues and combat gets very, very repetitive, but . . . I'll put it simple: go watch the opening videos on YouTube or GiantBomb. If you're intrigued, pick it up. The story isn't for everyone, but if you like it from the get-go, you'll probably love it all the way through.

"Most polarizing game of all time" is accurate. Not for everyone, but if you're the kind who enjoys what it does, there's nothing better in videogame storytelling.

Deadly Premonition, along with Alan Wake, were two solid highlights of 2010 for me. Both had that sinister background radiation signature in a pleasant small-town vibe. DP was definitely more Twin Peaks, but both had the vibe. Simply amazing.

The mechanics of the 360 version didn't bother me as I was enthralled by the storyline.

Geeked for whatever Alan Wake related announcement Remedy has in store for us this year, it'll keep me busy until Swery's next project.

I watched the Giantbomb endurance runs originally and that's why I wanted to play it. I have forgotten everything I watched since then, as my memory is complete garbage. I was mainly concerned about what the people are saying about the framerate in the DC. After reading around for awhile, it seems most of that is from the EU copies.

I think I'm just going to buy it and play it since I've been waiting this long to play it. Never played the 360 version (don't have one anymore, either) so if there is a difference in framerate, maybe I won't really notice.

Apparently, you are not aware of the polls the US PS+ blogs have. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013...eping-dogs-joins-the-instant-game-collection/

Go right before the comments start and you'll see We Want Your Feedback with 2 links to polls to click on. These are usually in every PS+ blog. If you tell them via polls that you don't like this weeks offers, then it's at least a step in the right direction. Keep in mind, they're not going to be able to please everyone.

I am, but the difference in quality and how they go about things.

US typically polls what we like, which is nice, but reading any post on the blog will indicate the same thing.

EU actually polled what genre's people wanted to see, which is far more than "I liked this deal, I liked the free game, this update sucked". Also unlike the US polls (they did, but removed it over all the negative replies... since Plus got better, maybe now they're showing it again), they shared this data and made a whole blog post about it.

8670854993_ebe3e299c0_o.png

I think it's silly you're comparing polls about what we like, to polls about what we want to see, since they might be fundamentally the same, but they're conceptually different. Like I can vote "nothing for me" every week till the day I die and all Sony will see is that they're not appealing to me, though they will probably never correct it.

Edit: To further prove what I am getting at, here's the polls from the last 5 posts (in no real order).

What’s your favorite content from this week’s update?
What’s your favorite content from this week’s update?
What’s your favorite content from this week’s update?
What’s your favorite content from this week’s update?
What’s your favorite content from this week’s update?
What was your favorite content from April?

Even look at the differences in questions... EU is asking for what genre's I like, where as US is just taking sadly useless data.

What’s your favorite content from this week’s update?

I already own the content, so nothing for me this week.
Hot Shots Golf®: Out of Bounds Complete Collection Discount
Zombie Driver HD Discounts
Borderlands Sale
I don’t own the content, but nothing for me this week.
Labyrinth Legends – Free for PS Plus members
Guacamelee! – Launch Week discount

Anything you vote is pretty much irrelevant to changing their plans for the program. Most people will like or dislike something based off the % off or game in question, so it's not like everyone voting for Launch Week discounts means we want more of them, just means we think Guacamelee! looks awesome. Though don't worry, not like Sony doesn't want you to know the results either.

Question: Isn't PS+ supposed to allow you to purchase a game through SEN (adding it to your download list) and automatically download and install your game during your regular PS+ update period? I know someone confirmed this worked for them last week, but it didn't work for me with Sleeping Dogs. I "bought" the game through SEN yesterday afternoon and didn't touch my PS3 last night. This morning I was expecting the game to be fully downloaded or at least in the process of downloading, but it wasn't showing in my Download Management list. I ended up having to go to my download list and manually download it.

Anyway, is there something specific I need to do to get this feature to work, or do you think that PSN was just bombarded by all the users downloading this game? Thanks in advance.

For some reason, it always takes an extra day or two for my auto-downloads and auto-installs to complete, not sure why. So if it doesn't do it in another day or so, then I'd think something is wrong.

Did you add it to your download queue after you bought it on the SEN site?

The automatic downloading wasn't working for me last night when I turned on my system. It would try initiating it and then just sit there. I assumed it was just due to overwhelming demand - especially since the download was really slow, so I just manually did it from my purchase history. I've never tried to do it based on the automatic overnight updating. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not really designed to work with that, but i'm curious if other's report that working commonly for them.

Quick question:

So I've never played a Fatal Frame game before, but II is the one everyone seems to mention when it comes to horror games.

Does it still hold up, and what are the controls like?
Did you add it to your download queue after you bought it on the SEN site?
My understanding was that you didn't need to do that. I thought it was supposed to work similarly to the way it works on the 360. Of course, with the 360, the download happens as soon as you turn on your Xbox. For the PS3, it doesn't work quite the same way, but I thought it was supposed to automatically start downloading during your regular PS+ update period without you having to manually add the game to your download queue.

Edit: Nevermind. I know what you're talking about now. I didn't realize that you can add games to your download queue through SEN. I'll have to test it out with a different game.

I've never tried to do it based on the automatic overnight updating. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not really designed to work with that, but i'm curious if other's report that working commonly for them.
Someone definitely reported last week that the automatic download worked for them when they bought PSABR through SEN. This person woke up the next morning and had PSABR downloaded and installed without ever having to turn on his PS3. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what he reported...

Well I just booted my PS3 and saw that Sleeping Dogs and the DLCs have been downloaded and all installed.

I booted up the game and unfortunately the patch wasn't.

What I do is basically put it on the Download Queue on SEN and during my daily update session which I set up to be 4:00AM, it just boots up and does what it needs to.

Yeah, there's a button on the purchase confirmation screen that says "Download to my PS3." Then its added to the download list and the PS3 will receive it next time it connects online. With PS+, the overnight syncing and save uploading also grabs the new downloads if they were added properly. If you aren't in a hurry to play something right away its a pretty efficient system.

Maybe this is what you guys have been talking about in the last couple posts, but has anyone noticed that recently when you make a purchase on PSN (through the PS3), it no longer lists the things you bought with an option to download them all? For a few weeks now whenever I buy something I just get a "Purchase Complete" screen with no option to download anything. Have to navigate to my download list and select them one at a time (which, as we know takes forever).
Sorry if this was asked already, what comes in the Papo y yo bundle?
I believe you get the soundtrack as well.
Quick question:

So I've never played a Fatal Frame game before, but II is the one everyone seems to mention when it comes to horror games.

Does it still hold up, and what are the controls like?
Definitely yes. If I remember correctly, it controls like the old style 3d games, where forward is always up, and left/right are for turning. It's a bit slow paced, but it works great once you get used to it.

Play this if you want a real survival horror game, and not the junk out lately on consoles - I can't speak for all SH games because apparently there's some good ones on PC.

I was under the same impressions as you in the beginning, that it worked exactly like the 360 does when you buy things on the website. But it's not exactly the same, there is one extra step, adding the content to your download queue.

Anyone know what happened to the Mad Dog McCree thread from last night? I was able to get Mad Dog 2 for free using that glitch but I was wondering if anyone was able to get the first Mad Dog game as well?

Thread got deleted earlier today. Someone in the thread confirmed it's only for the second game though.

Yes, I tried the first game and it sent me directly to the Store to buy the game. It didn't give me that option to get the game for free like the second one did. I will buy the first one over the weekend if I liked the second one.

Damn, I saw that thread and didn't even bother to click it because it sounded like a stupid game. I just Googled it and it's an FMV light gun game. I love those! My consolation is that it was only the second game; the first one looks much better going by their trailers.

Why was it deleted? I'm lucky I saw it so I think I still remember how to do it, but it doesn't seem like it deserved deletion. Maybe a move to the Free section, but not deletion.

I will be surprised if the glitch hasn't been fixed by now.

BTW: @alwayscheaper, did you really contact Sony asking if this glitch is legit?

mods don't seem to like any sort of glitches that make games free (see: AC3 free on Japan Marketplace debacle).
Whaaat? They're finally putting a sale on Fallout 3 DLC? Now I gotta decide if I want to pay for it so it goes with my vanilla copy or keep my GOTY version, which I heard has a ton of problems with it.
the GOTY edition is unplayable, imo. go with normal version + dlc. still glitchy, but not unplayable.
Sweeping Dogs took forever to download, then the damn 1 GB update.
Because even the Triad needs someone to clean up after them.
no pinball arcade sale ?!?! *gasp*
i'd think they'd wait till the week it's free.

I'm real mad at myself right now. Didn't snag Peace Walker last week and got busy and totally forgot about it until today and now it's too late!

Okay, cool, I thought that's what I heard. I guess I'll be buying up the DLC then.
