It's super early - I bet you could get it again in 30-40 minutes.

Shit looks like I deleted my save file on Guacamelee (part of the blame falls on the game only having one save file slot). Looked online and can't find a solid answer, but does anyone remember how long into the game before I get the [customspoiler="Spoiler"]Dimension Swapping[/customspoiler] technique? I have to get that before I can play the new DLC.

It's so odd that PS+ doesn't auto-upload vita saves.
After I beat the game on Normal I went back to play a little bit on hard to see how hard it really was. I started a new save file which deleted the old one which I figured I'd never need again. Oops. So an auto upload wouldn't have helped anyway I don't think. So that was my fault, but like I said, a second save file slot also would have solved my problem.

My save file is on Hard mode and I don't really want to do the DLC trophies on hard. I might just start the game over.

Took me just over an hour to get there.  But I'm concerned that I don't have all the moves yet, I'm guessing I'll be screwed in the platforming challenges until I pick up all of them.

Mine has never uploaded any saves to the cloud. Syncs the trophies just fine, just not the saves. I think the time for plus functions on vita is set at 4:00-6:00 am too.

Yeah, if it's possible to do auto uploads on saves, I certainly don't know how to do it on the Vita either.

Also, I can't get past challenge 8 without being able to break blue blocks on Guacamelee.  Count on having a complete save file if you want to have a chance to get Gold on all the challenges.

It's definitely doing it for me. Did you checkmark the games for auto-uploading of saves in Content Manager?

Dokura was a pretty swell game. Two difficult trophies for the plat, but nowhere near impossible with practice on the necessary levels. by the point i got the two trophies, it was almost hard to mess up, i knew them so well.

The game was charming. Not my favorite genre (platformer puzzlers always feel like a re-hash of puzzles to me) but it was very well done and had a good amount of variety and interesting use of vita features.

@affa [customspoiler="Dokuro spoilers"] Was stage 4 the bird? I would always fuck up on the bird. And if by chance I got past the bird without fuck ing up, then I would immediately fuck up on the fish.[/customspoiler]
[customspoiler="Dokuro spoilers"] Yea, the bird. thankfully i beat it soon after posting. it was the wind attack (with knives) that would get me, even though it was an easy attack to dodge. no damage-ing the end boss was even harder. got to a sliver 3 times before pulling it off. dumb deaths those 3 times, too. anyway, plat is mine.[/customspoiler]

Nope, didn't know about that Frisky, I'll be doing that starting tonight.

And as for Dokuro, I found the final boss no-hit much easier than the boss-run no hit.

If you have yet to turn on auto-uploading of saves, this is how to do it:

  • Launch Content Manager App.
  • Click on Online Storage.
  • Click on Vita to Online Storage.
  • Click on "i" button next to game.
  • Click on Upload Automatically Checkbox.
  • Go back to game list and you should see a green arrow pointing up next to the "i" button to confirm that it's set to automatically upload new saves.

I am so tempted to grab Persona 4 Golden, I just have less free time currently and a big backlog.

I'm honestly afraid it's going to be a gaming obsession for me if I grab it.

Well, that is the problem with digital sometimes. Between prices at brick and mortar, and steam being so good with how they manage sales, you would guess they learned to imitate that model to breathe new life into old titles. Wishful thinking...
while i agree that older titles should have some kinda of discount on psn, you have to realize that steam and valve dont have the overhead of maintaining an infrastructure with millions of console hardware connected

so when people ask why sony psn prices arent as cheap as steam (or XBL for that matter), just remember its not as simple as lowering prices on arbitrary games

this is... incorrect. first, steam has a huge infrastructure in place. if you're talking about general storefront infrastructure, it's certainly in line with PSN.

second, pricing on the store has nothing to do with the infrastructure costs. It's not like Sony decides the pricing of an Atlus game (other than likely having some general guidelines). The majority of that purchase price goes to the publisher, with a share going to Sony for hosting the store infrastructure.

Other PSN infrastructure (multiplayer, etc) has absolutely nothing to do with store pricing.

Thanks for the info on auto-uploading Vita saves, never would have stumbled across that on my own. Now remembering to do that with each new game is where it's going to get tricky.

Worse games to get obsessed with. ;)

Yeah, great info there.

I do have one other technical question that I hope is not too out of line. When I put a blu-ray disc like Sly Cooper Thieves in Time into the ps3 the game automatically loads, causing the trophy info to automatically load as well. I had no interest in the ps3 game because I was only using the disc to activate the Vita version.

Is there any way to stop ps3 discs from automatically loading the game when the disc is inserted?

I don't like the ps3 automatically adding a trophy list that will stay at 0% forever.

There's a setting you can check/uncheck for this. I believe it's under system or game settings, but I know I've seen the option.

Yes, though I'm not at the PS3 so if I get this slightly wrong forgive me, under system settings (I believe) there's an option that controls whether a game is auto launched when the disc is inserted.

My understanding is that you are crazy to complain about this with regards to Sly Cooper specifically. The trophies duplicate from either save, so once you are done with the Vita version, upload the save and let the trophies pop for the PS3 version to double your count for the game. This comment is only in regards to this or other similar games that have cross-trophy support.

Just about finished with Persona 4 Golden on my vita and I loved it. Is Persona 3 just as good? If so, do I buy the PSP version or the PS2 version? Which is the superior/most convenient way to play it?

Get P3P (PSP version). And yes, Persona 3 is generally "just as good" or at least "almost as good." There are some inferior gameplay mechanics but the story and characters are better in some ways. Definitely worth playing!

Convenient is probably P3P which gets you the extra content and the ability to play as a girl but at the cost of presentation (primarily the animated cut scenes). I would say that P3FES is the better version if you have access to a PS3. Either way though if you liked P4G then P3 is worth your time.

Aww, I hope the animated cut scenes are still at least half decent and not too watered down :/ Thanks 4 the heads up

PSA: Hot Shots for PS3 is awesome.
Out Of Bounds or the Vita one (World Invitational) that just came to PS3? I've always loved the series but World Invitational hasn't grabbed me as much as the past iterations. It's nice having digitally on the Vita though, pick up and golf when the urge strikes.

They simply dont exist in the psp version.
Id recommend fes if you care more for story, or p3p if you dig combat more.

Like Panda said they were cut entirely in favor of graphic novel vignettes presumably as a limitation of the UMD media.

The differences between the PS2 and the PSP versions of Persona 3 has wishing there was a Vita version that combined everything into an ultimate version.

If not, I probably will end playing both versions at least once. Just to see everything.

In P3P, you move around and interact with people/things using a cursor, whereas in the PS2 versions, you move the player character directly. It may seem like a small difference, but I found it harder to become immersed in the game as a cursor hovering over the environment.

i'm probably one of the few people that greatly preferred the 'menu system' environments of p3p.   running around the overworld in persona games gets super old for me, super fast.  having the key points highlighted makes it less of a chore. but hey, i never finished either so what do i know.   i don't play rpgs for the story.

I agree but they still did a great job porting it over to the psp and giving you the option to play as a girl. This gave you a good reason to play it again from a different perspective.

Every time you say that I twitch.

Which is why they need to put it on sale for $5, like FES, instead of $10.

I'm really enjoying the new Guacamelee DLC.  I forgot how smooth the combat is in the game.  A couple of the gold medals may be tough but I think I'll be able to get them all.
