:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

I preordered it on Amazon when it was up just in case but it seems like a bit much for the extras. Most recent CEs have been like that though.

What's the verdict on saints 4? Wait to see if it shows up free on plus? Not like my backlog isn't huge enough as it is...

In all seriousness though, who wouldn't want a Ninja Gaiden 4? Just as long as its no where near the piece of shit 3 was. Make it more like 2 and day 1 purchase.
Not if Hayashi is near it. Ninja Gaiden Black and 2 are the pinnacle of action games to me. Itagaki was arrogant but he put as much dedication as Kojima in his games. NG2 wasn't fully ironed out when he was dismissed.

Sigma 1 was okay. Rachel was awful and there were literally impossible time limits on MNM scoring nobody could ever reach.

Sigma 2 sucked. Replacing blood and gore with purple mist. There were whole areas that has a ton of ninjas in the 360 version that didn't have a single enemy on PS3. Then the difficulty wasn't even hard on MNM. You just got hit or grabbed then died. You'd hang back and charge attacks then rinse repeat. So boring. NG2 was an adrenaline rush.

NG3 was a joke if there ever was one

NG3 RE was much better. Still not as good as the sigmas but a solid 7.5/10 game

Actually, Razor's Edge is the VASTLY improved version of NG3 and apart from some truly dire boss battles (And what NG doesn't have shitty bosses sometimes?) NG3:RE is absolutely good. Do give the demo of it a shot. I think you'll see some of the greatness of real NG games in it.

Hell, I rate NG3:RE as better than NG2 vanilla easily.

Bought it...played halfway through....and traded it. Horrible compared to Sigma and Sigma 2

Is Roundabout actually worth playing or just more of a YouTube lets play kind of game? It looks funny, but I get a surgeon simulator vibe from it where it'll be fun for about 5 minutes then get annoying quick.

EastX has steamed it a number of times and it seems more like the latter. I would pick it up for cheap probably but I'll buy a lot of stuff for cheap.

Anyone know if the saints row 4 and standalone game for 15.xx also  comes with the other two dlc pack or do you have to buy them too

If you're referring to the Plague of Frogs and Devils Workshop packs they do not. I think they were pre order bonuses. Luckily its just weapon and skins themed from the opposing games. So devil stuff for 4 and 4 stuff for Gat out.

I'm suddenly very confused about the Saints Row games.

So there is III, then IV, then Re-elected, then Gat out of Hell?

Or?

I think I played II and III. I don't think I played 4, but bought Reelected and gat out of hell thinking it was 4 + expansion. Was IV remastered for PS4 too?

Re-Elected is remastered SR4 with all the DLC. They just added Re-Elected like those games that add Definitive Edition, etc. So you're correct, it's 4 + expansion (gooh).

Here's The Drop for this week:

New PlayStation Games This Week

Arcade Archives Renegade
PS4 — Digital

Renegade is an action game that was released in 1986. In Renegade, players control a vigilante (named Mr. K), who fights a variety of street gangs on his way to save his girlfriend. The Arcade Archives series has faithfully reproduced these masterpiece arcade games for PS4.

Class of Heroes 2G
PS3 — Digital

Starting summer school at Crostini Academy of Adventuring Arts, your school in Class of Heroes 2G, you’ll realize this isn’t your typical place. You’re tests are epic boss monsters, your teachers will get you geared for a life-or-death battle in the labyrinth, and your friends stick right by your side to level up.

The Escapists
PS4 — Digital

The Escapists is an award-winning prison break simulation that provides players the opportunity of experiencing a light-hearted insight into everyday prison life. Whilst the aim of the game is simply to escape, the detail is in the execution. (Don’t say the word execution too loud in a prison).

Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition
PS4 — Digital

Skulls of the Shogun is a mash-up of turn-based strategy and fighting-game flare, scientifically engineered for lightning-quick rounds, thoughtful strategic play, and a frequently inappropriate sense of humor with its tongue planted firmly in cheek. And whether you’re into single or multiplayer, Skulls has you covered.

Sparkle Unleashed
PS4, PS3, PS Vita — Digital (Three Way Cross Buy)

A secluded world of mystery has succumbed to an ominous darkness. You must travel through the fallen lands, light magical braziers, and banish the darkness once and for all. Unlock amazing powerups and use the ones you like the most to overcome increasingly challenging levels.

Super Exploding Zoo!
PS4, PS Vita — Digital (Cross Buy)

Round up herds of exploding animals and rampage around 80 destructible levels — defend your precious egg by slamming your herd into the greedy alien marauders and blowing them up! Use the special skills of different animal types to slow alien progress or access new areas!

Tetris Ultimate
PS Vita — Digital, Retail

The iconic puzzle game arrives on PS Vita, and is better than ever in Tetris Ultimate. With nine exciting modes, fun new features, and unique visuals, the evolution of this game is the ultimate must-have on the go.

Wander
PS4 — Digital (Out 6/4)

Explore a beautiful island paradise in a variety of forms, from seafaring creatures to sky-soaring griffins. Experience a new kind of adventure on PS4 and interact with other wanderers in new and exciting ways.

Demos and Betas

NASCAR ’15 — PS3 Demo (Out 6/3)

Sparkle Unleashed — PS4, PS3, PS Vita Trial

Really glad I actually jumped on the saints row deal, never played one before but it seems like a fun mix of infamous and gta.  Having a lot more fun than I woulda originally thought and is scratching my itch for the gta genre

How am I just hearing about Wander today?

Thanks for the review - I decided to jump in on $15 deal

Probably the same as me, you don't follow the indie scene very close. This is the first I'm hearing of the game too.

Looks like the Steam version hits on the 4th. http://store.steampowered.com/app/293280/

They call it a non-combat MMO. I don't care for MMO stuff (too time demanding), but I love exploration in games. I read on the steam forums for the game that there are some situations where at least two players are ideal. I don't know if that means everything is possible on single player but somethings are just very hard or not possible alone. Either way that's part of my breaking point... the other being that I think this requires constant online even if you want to play alone. I usually avoid games like that because it means if they don't make enough money or whatever that then I'd be out of luck to play a game I paid for when the servers go down. Still, the general premise of wandering around and finding stuff and learning how to manipulate the character to explore more... well that sounds fun. Right now, I gotta hold off.

Ah, thank you! That's what I thought till I read some stuff that got me all confused. The lack of a '4' didn't help. Good news.

Yup, Saint's Row games are like GTA games on crack. Not as polished, 1000x more goofy and absurd, but generally really fun. It's like GTA if GTA became completely detached from any semblance of reality.

Their biggest fault, by far, is that it is generally extremely easy to be ridiculously overpowered/invincible quickly... which for some is fun, since you mow down everything, but it lacks real challenge.

Pray for Alien Isolation sale with NO season pass. Or AC Unity. I need to buy more retail games all the time. Tired of W3 and its wonkiness already.

Rock Boshers worth the $4.49? I've had it in my cart all week and I'm waffling at the end here. I think I'm going to pass in favor of a steeper discount later. It looks like fun and I always dig retro themes, but money is legit tight for me for the first time in years and I really should save for better deals. I honestly can't recall the last time I saw a Robotron 2084 clone.

Also is Oreshika worth it? What's the likelihood of a deeper discount later? This one is also right up my alley and I love the art style, but $15 is my upper limit for digital content.

I totally forgot to decide on Rock Boshers as well which probably should be my decision. I like a lot about what it's doing and think I would like it but it is a small discount which will inevitably be better down the road.

I bought Oreshika, haven't played it though. Seems like the kind of thing that's not going to go crazy cheap in a hurry but who knows.

I am going to chance it and not buy it right now, maybe the next Golden Week it will be even cheaper. It happen with DBZ and Sword Art Online.

That's kind of what I thought, if I waffled this long it's not worth the pickup yet.

Well sure if you want to wait almost another year for the next Golden Week..

Well yeah, a year from now is probably pretty likely to be cheaper. I thinking that between now and say the end of this year it's probably not super likely and even if it does it's probably going to bottom at $10. Going to try and play it in the next month or two hopefully but if I don't I've lost way more than $5 buying too early.

Capcom sale. Don't think there's anything for me this week :/

I am hate-playing the W3 and I want something else to look forward to on PS4 that is out but I haven't bought yet

I might go digital with my 2k15 for PS4. If I have the disk installed and then buy the game digitally will I have to "download " the whole game or will the system use the file that is already there.

You'll have to download it again, which sucks big time especially on huge games like 2K15. Hopefully they'll fix that one day so it works like it does on XB1.

Great. I was hoping for another shot at the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection. I've been regretting that I passed on it last time.

I might get Operation Raccoon City here. Gamestop has the 360 version for $3 less, but I don't have Gold anymore. Getting it for the PS3 will still give me multiplayer. And this is about what the used PS3 copies go for.
