:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Obvious question regarding digital pre-orders. Is it possible to place a pre-order on the day a game is released? I still don't know if the REmake free PS4 upgrade is just a pre-order bonus or if it will be available long term.

If possible, I want to hold out to see if the 10% off discount drops in time to still get the pre-order bonus.

Pre-orders end when the game is released and most of those games mention the exact time it's unlocked/released on the game's page. For Resident Evil:

Pre-ordering Resident Evil entitles you to both the PS4™ and PS3™ versions of the game. Play the game on 1/20/15 starting midnight Eastern.
You'd have to pre-order it before 12 AM ET/9 PM PT to get the bonus.

heads up guys, got an email from frys this morning, they have $20 PSN cards for $15 "with promo code", so if you subscribe you can sweeten some of these deals a little more. not sure if it'll work but last time they had this promo I signed up and received the promo email with code on the spot. worth a try if you're close to a frys and don't already subscribe to their emails.

In store only I assume? Get the emails but they're on the other side of the country. :whistle2:(

I downloaded Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD. Hopefully before the sale is over I'll be able to add some funds and get Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max for PSP and another game or two. Wanted to save some funds by using the free trial of PS+ but can only sign up for it once. I think I did that about a year or two ago (can't quite remember).

I tweeted harmonix about making a current-gen RB when that new DLC was announced so I'm gonna go ahead and take credit for this. You're welcome, everybody.
My closet can't handle more plastic instruments. That said, I completed the survey. Looks like they're going to try to make old instruments compatible. Too bad the best guitar peripheral they made was 360 exclusive (the Xplorer).

So, most of the stuff in the sale that I want I already have or isn't cheap enough for me. I am considering Far Cry 3 Ultimate, since I can sell my disc version to offset the cost, but can anyone tell me if the extra stuff is worth it?

I'm not familiar with the guitars. Isn't that just the GH2 guitar? How is that better than the later guitars?

I like it because it introduces no lag and never drops a note. When I was big into GH/RB some of my friends swore by the later guitars, but I always preferred the Xplorer. I could never get the wireless ones with the detachable necks to not drop the occasional note. And the RB guitar had precision issues because of the loose strum, at least for me.

And the RB3 Squire is just a shitty guitar and the way they implemented Pro was stupid - you had to play the song exactly like they charted it and hope each fret registered. I hope if they have a Pro mode they go the Rocksmith route and allow any guitar and give you credit for an E when you play an E.

It's a tower defense puzzle game. It's an outdated version and the devs themselves consider it a beta version according to that link, but it reminds me of Tetris Attack, so buy it is.

There's a ton of great stuff on sale. Unfortunately, you didn't even provide your platform(s) of choice let alone your genres of choice.
Okay, okay! My systems are Vita and PSP. My fave genres are action, arcade, and fighting. RPGs I can do, but I tend not to like the later Final Fantasy games. Never tried IX, but it looks like a welcome return to the roots of the series. Stealth I can't stand, and I'm not really into first-person shooters.

No kidding, I still have my Xplorer but no idea if it still works. My 360 was what I played RB on and now it's all boxed up to make room for the Hot New Shit. Would be nice if the new RB would have compatibility with old DLC, so I can still have all my Electric Six tracks. I think they were de-listed, actually.

IX is worth the $5 if you liked the older Final Fantasies and by "later" you mean X and on. It also sounds like Dragon's Crown would be right up your alley if you don't already have it.

Thanks. By earlier I mean the Super NES games. I really disliked FF7's darker look and confusing levels. As for Dragon's Crown, I "have" that on PS+ and went through the game a couple of months ago. Appreciate the suggestion, though!

Well if that's what you like you're getting Trails in the Sky right?

Hi all,

How do you feel about Jak and Daxter and the Ratchet and Clank collection?

I've read through this and people complain about glitches in the Vita editions, but I've yet to see much about the PS3 editions? Are they worth it? Are the Vita versions worth it regardless?

I've already bought a slew of games, but platformers are probably my favorite go to game. The old Ratchet and Clanks are some fond memories.

With that said, I'm not even sure if I will actually play them. In theory I would like to say I would, but in actuality I may not. (I literally work every day, so gaming is few and far between).

These seem like a decent price though and I don't exactly want to miss decent prices, because yeah. Basically, I'm on the fence and I'm wondering if anyone can convince me to purchase or not.

Thoughts?

If you liked 6 you would probably like IX. I thought it was a shittier version of 6, but I mean, it is in the same vain. Similar set up in terms of equipping summons to gain abilities.

The story is mediocre, imo, but different strokes. The variety is decent. The mini games are eh. The combat is same ol, same ol. By same ol, same ol, I mean it uses an ATB. (X is really where battles started to change)

Do you think that 19.99 will be the cheapest price for Killzone shadow fall on the psn

Tetra Master, the card battler mini-game in FF IX, is the best mini-game in any FF game.

I held off on buying Tony Hawk HD last time it was on sale but I couldn't remember why... Well, three or so months and $6 later I now know very well.

No local multiplayer. Goddammit. :(

Ok... hmm.

You might love Dragon's Crown. It's an arcade brawler with a heavy dose of Rpg style lewt/upgrades. I don't like it, but many love it. Since you love arcade/fighting and a touch of RPG, it sounds perfect for you.

You'd probably like Dissidia Final Fantasy for the same reason (it's a fighting game with rpg elements), though I believe it's generally recommended to buy Dissidia 012 Duodecim instead, which isn't on sale.

Chrono Trigger is a light hearted romp and one of the best rpgs ever. PS1 version has load time issues, slightly alleviated by putting vita into 'fast load' mode. Some act like these load times make this unplayable... they're wrong. If you only have a vita or prefer using your vita, and want to play it, it's definitely worth it.

Blazblue are fighting games, right? I don't like the genre. But you do. Look into them.

Lumines is a fantastic game. It's in the general vein of tetris, though has very different mechanics.

You might love Persona 4 Golden. I don't, but I'm in the minority. Dungeons and high school drama and a murder mystery.

Ys -- you might love this game too? I believe it's an action oriented RPG, I haven't played it, but just bought it based on all the love the series gets.

That means otherworldly powers, sin-inspired weaponry, legendary allies, and also a musical number. Buckle up.

Splice
PS4, PS3 — Digital (Cross Buy)

In Splice, you are tasked with rearranging cellular strands. Sound complicated? It can be, but as you progress, you gain a greater understanding of how the structure works. The team spent a lot of time making sure the controls feel as intuitive as possible. Simply roll around your controller to let the universe move, or lay back and let the world take you over.

Interested to see the resident evil reviews. I will likely just wait for physical copy anyway. Getting Saints at BB with GCU and gift card Tuesday.
