:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Even if you can't detect sarcasm on the internet, he has the list posted in the first Post.

So people who ask about an up-to-date PS TV compatibility obviously does not actually go through his first post that he put so much effort into...just saying.
That's true. But I was not one of those people. I simply saw that he was wondering, so I helped him out. That's all.

It's Tuesday morning and you know what that means! Time for me to waffle extra hard on a purchase I've been debating all week. Anyone have any thoughts on Nano Assault X-Neo? I know I want it and I know I'll enjoy it since it looks like a near perfect Super Stardust clone, but I'm hesitant over the price. I generally don't but unless the discount is at least fifty percent. Is it worth it? I feel like it will go on sale again for a few dollars less down the road.
It's in my wheelhouse and I promised myself I would buy it first sale. However, I read a pile of reviews and they all say it's both bland and short. It got most of it's initial buzz because it was a WiiU launch title and does 'look' beautiful, but in action it's not that great - too short, too easy, boring bosses.

I will buy at $3. And I normally buy dual stick shooters at any price.

That's my 2 cents, at least, based on my research.

Well I did pickup Nano Assault Neo at launch (small PS+ discount) and am happy with it.  It's a great looking twin-stick arcade style shooter, certainly not the deepest game in this genre (which isn't a complex genre to begin with), but I really enjoy it.  I view this game the same way I do others in the same general category, "arcade-style" games that may not have the greatest complexity, but are fun to come back to play again and again, instead of just going through once and putting away for good (as many other types of games are these days).  There are customizations for your ship, nice varieties of creatures, and plenty of frantic shooting gameplay.

Is Hotline Miami any easier on a console?  I have been playing it on  the Vita but I am struggling big time with the controls.  I can't tell if I am struggling so much because the Vita controls or if I am just not any good at those style games.

Direct from twitter (the app, not the CAG):

Powers is here. Stream episode 1 of PlayStation's first show for free in US. Plus members get the whole season free. http://youtu.be/gt2znyyXt3g

ps: I have seen people embed tweets (or at least, it looked like an embedded tweet). So, how do you do that?

ps:

I think it's funny that Playstation keeps touting this as their "first" show. I predict this will also be Playstation's last show. The show may be fine, but I feel like this was Sony's "me too" for all the Xbox TV stuff that was supposed to happen before Microsoft got back on track and realized that people are more interested in video games for their video game console.

It's really sad, if true. Sony has been making movies for a while now, they dont need to play the "me too" game; they should just concentrate on what is good for them. Same applies to MS, of course.

I get that sometimes one of the players gets the market vibe right and does something unique - no shame in copying it at that point - but, generally speaking, what is good/works for one doesnt necessarily work for the other. Do your own thing, eh?

To be fair, in this case, both seem to be loosing. :)

You do realize that the post I directly responded to - the one that said "It's a shame that there's no list of games that work on PS TV" - came from Frisky, right? Why would he say that if there was indeed a list. Was I supposed to detect sarcasm or something?
I was going to post a giant derpface in response to this, but then I realized that you were the same user who was having trouble understanding how Playstation Plus games worked and were blaming Frisky for it a while back, so yeah, I guess it's only fair to not expect you to understand how internet sarcasm works.

I've only played it on PS4 & PS3 so I can't compare to the vita, but I can say the game is challenging! The controls kind of hindered me at first but after a few levels I was starting to dial them in and finish levels in a dozen tries rather than dozens of tries.

Buuuuu buuuuuu......what about the tester season 4? :(

If it is any indication of sales prices, Nano Assault on 3DS/WiiU is frequently on sale ($9.99 MSRP on Nintendo platform). This version I believe has more content. I'd be willing to be it goes on sale again down the line in say 3 months.
The thing is that it just goes on sale about this price every single time on the Wii U/3DS eShops.

I'd agree with you on the first one. I had a hard time with it on my Vita too... though the game just IS hard to boot.

Hotline 2 now has a 'lock-on' mechanic for the base campaign, so I'm betting it plays a little more easily on the Vita this time around. There is supposedly a hard mode in the game where the lock-on is disabled. That would probably be pretty challenging on the handheld.

I think it's more about the success Netflix has had with it's original content. Amazon now has original content, and Yahoo picked up Community. I think Crackle has it's own shows. Services that can stream video are now doing this.

Lol..I found it much, much easier on the vita than the PS3 for some reason. Haven't tried it with the ps4 much

Thanks for the responses. I will have to give it a try on the PS4 at some point. I enjoy the set up of the game but after not being able to pass chapter three in the first thirty or so tries I don't think I will have the patients to complete the game on the Vita.

Saints Row 2 is showing up as $5. It's dlc Corporate Warfare is $3, and Ultor Exposed is $4. I have the game on the 360, but buying it and the dlc at these prices would be $5 less than buying just the dlc for my 360 copy.

No other Saints Row content seems to be on sale yet.

The first three episodes of Powers are out now. The first is free for everyone and the others are free for PS+ members. You can grab the season pass here if you're a PS+ member.
Thanks for the heads up. This seems like a show I'd probably enjoy. For free, a no brainer to lock in the license for the season.

Note that SD & HD are different purchases so add both to the cart if you want the series on various devices.

Thanks. Grabbed the Season. Not to find time to watch it among all that movie/tv shows I have on the backlog. I will try to watch the fist episode to show some support at least.

I plat'd it on vita no problem. You are locking on, correct? many people think it plays best on vita.

This has nothing to do with MS. Everyone is branching out into service specific shows -- Yahoo, netflix, amazon instant, etc. Sony already has an absolutely huge tv/movie presence, so it's only natural for them to bring some of that to PSN to test the waters.

I think it's more about the success Netflix has had with it's original content. Amazon now has original content, and Yahoo picked up Community. I think Crackle has it's own shows. Services that can stream video are now doing this.
Welp ,beat to the punch. But yes, this.

The game is definitely just 'hard', but you can lock on in the first too. It's important for some levels, no doubt, though honestly by the time i finished the game i was melee'ing most everyone.

Good week for downloads with Hotline Miami 2 and Ori and the Blind Forest over on the Xbox One. Definitely picking them both up this week, looking forward to playing Hotline Miami 2 on my Vita. The original played flawlessly on the Vita and I expect the same for the sequel.

Was hoping Saints Row IV PS4 would be cheaper. I already have Gat Out of Hell from the voucher in the physical release (traded the disc to Amazon), and I just traded SR IV National Treasure PS3 to GS. Is the PS4 version worth the price difference?

Not a criticism, I really appreciate all the work you do to keep things organized.

The PS4 port suffers from some performance issues.

That is a truly craptastic sale for anyone wanting PS4 versions.

Anything else on deck for tonight's sale?

Was waiting to see what Sony has to offer before biting on Ori on X1 so I suppose it's a blessing in disquise if nothing else comes along.

You guys think there will be a Resident Evil sale anytime soon? I really would love to get the Remastered version as I have 35 bucks in my wallet atm, but was just curious if you guys thought there would possibly be a sale on it soon

Is anyone else having problems with items missing from their download list?  I have successfully purchased Helldivers (earlier today) and Mighty Flip Champs DX (just now) and neither of them show up in my download list and I still get the "Add to Cart" button on the page for each game.  When I try to add to cart, it tells me I am not eligible to purchase.  The games do show up on the Purchase History page and I have received the normal email confirmations.  I'm assuming this is just something that will work itself out by tomorrow.
