:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

https://www.telltalegames.com/blog/96191/big-announcement-for-the-walking-dead-coming-at-e3

The upcoming Telltale announcement for The Walking Dead is not season three, so now I'm curious what it is that they're releasing in 2015. A new game in a new genre or maybe some sort of animated show/movie focusing on this part of The Walking Dead universe?
The new Walking Dead series "Fear the Walking Dead" starts this summer, maybe it'll have something tied in with that..?

Looks like we are getting a PS+ 5 year anniversary sale, maybe flash sale this weekend, or something next week during E3.

ps-plus-5year-anniversary.jpg
What makes you think this is coming to the U.S.?

I'm not totally convinced we'll be seeing a flash sale this weekend. Wouldn't they have already done it by now?
Probably. And I was just poking around on the store to see if I could see anything. Nothing I could see so it probably won't happen. Maybe they'll do one while E3 is going on.

Kind of regretting not getting the PC version of Ziggurat during yesterday's Steam flash sale. Was hesitant because I thought there would be a PSN flash sale.

Oh well, not like I have a shortage of games to play.

Million's treatment of Double Dragon got us two outstanding DD games: Double Dragon Advance (Under Atlus's purview, who also supervised the equally good River City Ransom EX, a game almost so good as to replace the original RCR completely. A remarkable feat considering how easy it is to completely botch the RCR formula.) and the Iphone DoubleDragon (Criminally unloved. There may be ridiculous amounts of money in mobile, but mobile gamers DO NOT PLAY, RESPECT, OR DESERVE REAL GAMES.). Of course then we got the awful Wander of the Dragons and the charming but empty Double Dragon Neon so they weren't exactly batting a thousand.

That said, I think I've seen Arcsys's inept attempts at brawlers and I haven't been impressed. Fighting games I'll grant them. Then again, I can't remember the specifics so I can't exactly back that instinct up with actual fact but it's the internet. Really, why should that stop me?

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/06/12/tearaway-unfolded-out-on-ps4-sept-8th-for-39-99/

Tearaway Unfoldd is out on PS4 9/8 for $39.99. Pre-orders are upgraded to the Crafted Edition with a gold leaf and golf stamp to put on Iota/Atoi, God of War and Journey costumes, eight custom decorations from God of War/Gravity Rush/Infamous/Killzone/The Last of Us/Lemmings/No Man's Sky/The Order: 1886, two papercraft plans, a Pig Crown, and the soundtrack.
Sweet, was definitely one of the best games I've played on PS Vita and can't wait to grab it to play on :ps4:. Will preorder for sure to get those extras.

I still maintain that the Shantae devs owe everything to their character design because the actual gameplay certainly isn't anything even remotely memorable. The asking price is laughable, especially when Guacamelee is better* and cheaper

*I haven't played HGH so I can't say for certain but I have played every other Wayforward game.
I was actually referring to the absurd price the old gameboy game commands. But yea, even the digital ones are overpriced and never seem to go on sale

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/246018/FOCUS_HOME_INTERACTIVE_PARTNER_UP_WITH_DECK13_FOR_UNANNOUNCEDRPG.php

Focus Home is publishing the new unnamed RPG from Deck13 (Lords of the Fallen) on PS4 in 2017.

hmmm is that the Sonico chick in a fighting game? LOL at a glance i thought the dark skinned chick was Aisha Clan-Clan

Basically, even an idiot gets things right once in a while (even if by accident).
No, I know the phrase. I don't get exactly what his point was using it there. I doubt it was about me saying we are due for a flash sale, since we get one once a month and next weekend will have been over a month since the previous one, making it plenty reasonable that we will see it then.

FYI I will say Toukiden Kiwami beats out SoulSac and Freedom Wars every day of the week for Vita hunting style games. You probably won't see it because the Steam thread is a massive wankfest even on NORMAL days but Kiwami is getting a PC port on Steam in about two weeks. No word on save import or the like but this means that Toukiden has more or less uncontested hunting dominance on both PS4 and PC. If you're like me PC ports impact your console buying decisions so just FYI

VR Walking Dead, Telltales' surprise perhaps.

Platinum's last licensed action game didn't go so well and it's even from the same publisher, so maybe people shouldn't overhype this game like they did the Legend of Korra game.

They also had a shoe string budget and only a few months by all accounts. That was always going to be a $15 budget title and we all just hoped for too much. Presumably for a retail title they'll have the proper time and budget. Even if their games are usually divisive they have a pretty good track record.

The hype behind Platinum and their titles is a bit strange for me.  Played many PG titles (even the titles from HK, SM, etc before Platinum, Capcom days) and while I enjoyed them, the overall "WOW" factor wasn't really there for me playing their titles.  To each their own though, different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I thought Risky's Revenge was mediocre/dated, but Pirate's Curse was really good. I'm not sure how I would compare it to Guacamelee though.

Still can't decide on Sleeping Dogs. Only played a little on PS3. I really prefer physical over digital with the ps4's small hard drive.

It'll take up the same amount of space on the hard drive either way.
True, but it's much easier to swap between physical games if you have limited hard drive space. Installing a disc takes only a minute, while you'd have to re-download the entire game if you have a digital copy.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/06/14/the-drop-new-playstation-games-for-6162015/

Here's The Drop for this week:

As the entire video game industry buzzes with excitement, only a small handful of new games come to PlayStation this week. Payday 2: Crimewave Edition and Arcade Archives Nova 2001 both arrive on PS4 this Tuesday. Both are available on PlayStation Store, and Payday 2 is also available at retail.
Of course, people are livid in the comments about there not being much like there isn't something bigger going on this week that would cause games to be released another time.
