:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Is persona 4 golden worth the $15? I'm curious since it gets so much hype and the physical release doesn't drop below $20.
P4G might be my favorite game of all time...and I've been playing for a quarter century. Plenty of "bang for your buck" as the game will easily take you more than 60hrs to complete (I think I clocked in around 90ish). Solid RPG dungeon crawling, a great "high school sim", and an interesting mystery story connecting it all. I personally love the characters and the music especially. A steal at $15, but for another $5 you can get a nice physical copy and save some Vita memory card space....

It's not like them to make character dlc free. Could be limited time. Getting it now just in case.

Atelier Shallie on sale :D

20% off :(

You could always wait for the next kongregate coupon and pick up a physical copy at gamestop for $15.

It's the best remake or remaster around. Pretty much every issue I had with the original, besides the slow start, is addressed in a great way.
Enhanced Port I'd call it.

Same game ported to a new console with a few new features.

(Remasters are also a form of enhanced port. Remake is a new game entirely from the ground up, code and assets)

It's more of a remaster. They brought it to a new platform, made it look better, and added a lot of new features/content to it.

I remember when I was in my "Is Persona 4 Golden worth it?" phase after playing the tripe that was Persona 3 Portable.

80 hours of gameplay later, the answer was absolutely. Every dollar.

No love for the PS Vita
I'm a portable man through and through, so a Vita version would have been cool, but I'm happy to double dip on the 3DS game for a physical copy, and the 3D is pretty cool as well. Maybe if we're vocal enough, they will add it before release.

Brian who did RCR said it was cheaper to produce the physical versions for the PS4 and Vita than for the Wii U and 3DS, so in regards to his comments, we can only guess what may or may not have influenced the decision making process for Shovel Knight.

Definitely grabbing Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, already got Devil Summoner for 4.99 two weeks ago and Nocturne for 4.99 last week so I'm not sure that's technically part of the sale or if I stumbled upon two glitches.

Shame Catherine is still $20, I thought it's standard retail was $20.

Thinking about Eternal Punishment as well, but I don't have a PSP to play Innocent Sin first and I don't want to miss out on the first half of the story.

Looks like Atlus forgot this was a sale.

Dear Atlus,

When the digital version of Dragon's Crown costs as much as the physical version everywhere, you have failed. Please take notes from Bandai Namco, Xseed, Idea Factory, and NIS America before you bother wasting our time.

Sincerely,

A CAG

I grabbed all the free DLC also.

Just picked up Rebirth 1 in the sale last week and love it. All the references are great, i assume they will wear on me at some point.. but oh well.

Just not sure what other games in the series I should also grab at some point. I have Rebirth 2, 3 and U on my Amazon wish list now to at least keep an eye on the prices for physical.

Thanks for all the positive feed back everyone. Sounds like it's worthy to take up 3gb of space on my vita.

I probably won't grab P4Golden unless I plan on getting a Vita (Still deciding on whether to go cheap for the PSP w/ Trails in The Sky, Innocent Sin, etc. Get the Vita for newish games n such or go for the 3DSXL so I can play Monster Hunter with my friend as well as Tales of the Abyss, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem Awakening, Devil Survior, Soul Hackers, etc.)

But I digress from my original topic, what's the difference between P4 and P4Golden aside from nicer looking backgrounds? Is it like Persona 3:FES where they add in a whole new 40+ hour story? Or is it just minor overhauls? Would someone who already owns Persona 4 have justification in buying P4G?

P4G adds (at least from the top of my head) another social link with Marie (Adachi is a link too, was he in vanilla P4?), another dungeon (again with Marie), a group outing (ski trip), a date event (Valentine's Day). But the most important additions are the ability to choose inherited skills during fusion and the improved 'choose your own' shuffle time. If you've already played through P4 and dont want say trophies, you could youtube the new stuff. But I thought the game was worth multiple playthroughs anyway. If you were going to replay P4, I'd say upgrade to P4G. If you've had enough of playing P4, the Golden content isnt worth it alone, just youtube it.

I wonder if Persona 4 Golden gives the player more time to finish the social links. My first play-through and I'm at the end of the school year AFTER defeating the Suspect, and I have yet to finish most of the S. Links but are swimmingly along. The Mega-Personae are pretty cool.

I know it's just a straight emulation, but can anybody tell me if Odin Sphere on the PS3 suffers the same slowdowns that it did on PS2?

You get all of January (save a few special days) and a few days in February (but not many).

"If the player fulfills criteria for at least the good ending, daily activities are expanded to February 14, 2012, giving more time for events and social links."

It's supposedly based on the EU version, which fixed those issues.

How are the prices on the persona PSP games?  I know these go on sale regularly, but I'm ready to take my persona trip through the older titles after 150+ hours of P4G. Thanks

I'd consider buying the Atlus games but after pulling out my PS3 from storage and dling all the games I bought this past year my HD is full. I still have 6 games in queue. I have a 160gb HD and the majority of games I purchased are PS1 games. There's maybe 3 PS3 games at the most and a few PS2 games. Is there any way to easily see how much space each game takes up like the 360? Can I back-up my games using a USB flash drive like the 360?

Highlight the game > press Triangle > scroll down > select Information

You can delete them and redownload them later.
I'd prefer not to delete them as it seems to take forever to dl and install. I have the Mortal Kombat movie free from when I bought the game. I could move it to my laptop if it'll play on it.

Sorry, most of my knowledge is 360 based.

If a game hasn't been installed yet, then it can still be moved to a USB drive for later. Once it's installed, though, it can only be deleted. And I think the videos still require Sony's MediaGo program to play on a computer.

Yeah, you already made that pretty clear.

They detailed the free updates that are coming for Shovel Knight with all of the Kickstarter-backed stretch goal content:

Of course, like the digital version, every boxed version will also receive FREE future updates as they become available:
  • Specter Knight’s Campaign – A full campaign starring the shadowy scythe spinner!
  • King Knight’s Campaign – A crazy campaign with the gilded goob himself!
  • Battle Mode – Duel with up to 4 players as your favorite heroic or villainous knight!
  • Body Swap Mode – Did you ever wish Shovel Knight was a lady, or Shield Knight was a dude? Well, now you’ll be able to change them all around, along with the rest of the cast!
Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows – Coming very soon!

The wait for Plague of Shadows is almost over! It will definitely hit BEFORE the boxed version. We’re in the home stretch and are polishing every detail, pixel, and potion right now. Check out some screens before the final version is released:

Remember that tough bookroom in Pridemoor? Look at Plague just breeze on by it!

Battle Mode Teaser

Even in the chaos of all this new stuff, we are still plugging away on new features, one of which is Battle Mode! Hopefully, Battle Mode can also be included in the boxed version of Shovel Knight on day one. Here’s a taste:

I believe the one on the PSN store is the European edition which runs better than the original US version did.

Wow, I didn't know Shovel Knight was funded by Kickstarter. Might have to double dip on that one (triple if it comes to Xbox 360).

Nothing for me this week.   Spent $30 last week from the flash sale and the Stealth bundle and I'm trying to download crossbuy games on my new (as of one week ago) Playstation 4.

Has ps plus not given extra discounts from these deals? I haven't been tempted to buy anything for a while now because of lack of incentive.

Yea I've tried going all digital with the Vita as a test as to how I like it. The problem is that the Vita memory cards are so damn expensive. I refuse to spend what they are asking for for a 16GB or 32GB. My 8 GB that I got with my bundle is always full.

How would you move to a USB drive? I don't see any mention of it in Content Manager anywhere. Always just a PS3 and PC option.
