There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Picking up everything for PS+ except for Rain since it was my free game for that settlement that's supposed to happen and I'm not falling into Sony's trap.

EU got a 5th anniversary sale.. US did not.

They have different sales for each region, I think only the PS+ games are the same everywhere.

Someone just posted the Namco sale Sony has currently, but not here in the US...
Because we already had that sale when many of those prices were included in the flash sale last week.

so if you never played any persona games what the hell is the difference between the 3 series...is there a nice page somewhere that explains them or should I just find reviews for each game?
Persona 3/4 spend most of their energy on 'social links'... or, dating in game to raise relationships. There are small, uninteresting, random dungeons with bosses to kill and the story is supposed to be good (i hate the social links)

Persona 1/2 are supposed to be more straight dungeon crawlers.

The other SMTs tend to be far more mature (dark themed/morality themed/religion themed), each with various differences. Nocturne is probably the most loved - turn based, solid story, well designed dungeons, etc. No silly social links. Same press turn system, same demon fusion. digital devil saga has no demon fusion, but has a more traditional party system. And on and on.

Well looks like i own every atlus game except for Catherine, lol.

BTW, forgot to ask. WHats the deal with that game on sale last week: Ender of Fire. Has anyone played that? Looking at it it looks like a friggin PS2 game. Not really sure why its on PS4 and not at the very least PS3. Looks terrible

Lab Zero (Skullgirls) announced their next game called Indivisible:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgLtNAKTjhw

"Indivisible is a new action/RPG IP, starring Ajna (AHZH-na), a girl who sets out on a globe-spanning journey to discover the truth behind her mysterious powers. On her quest she’ll be joined by a variety of unique heroes and gain new abilities to traverse the environments and defeat the enemies they’ll encounter along the way.

Indivisible is inspired by classics like Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid, but with the unique characters and gameplay depth Lab Zero is known for. In addition to a fresh spin on action/RPG gameplay, Indivisible features a deep storyline inspired by southeast Asian and other world mythologies, Lab Zero’s trademark feature-quality 2D hand-drawn animation, and a lush soundtrack from legendary Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta."

No platforms yet, but they're planning on launching an IndieGoGo campaign soon to help fund it.
oh, neat. I loved the art in skullgirls but im not into fighting games like i used to be so i never really checked it out. This should be worth looking out for, thanks for the info

Anyone else think the girl looks a lot like Nanami from Suikoden II?

Well it's almost 2 a.m and riding the euphoria from getting platinum in Witcher 3...gwent ; get em all was a pain in the end with glitches and what not. I'll be ready for the dlc by October but damn was it fun

The Shenmue 3 KS finally has a physical PS4 version tier at $60 for those that wanted that.

One of the developers of N++ is doing an interesting side project to promote N++.

I get the feeling there could be a big promotion for the last half of summer (PlayStation Store Play 2015) coming with some big titles if they're ready in time. It seems like The Tomorrow Children, N++, Galak-Z, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, The Talos Principle, and Volume are slated for release in August or this summer. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Volume, and The Talos Principle have firm release dates while the rest are just later this Summer.

Tales of Zestiria PS4 CE announced for NA market.

I've read some mixed opinions on the combat system for this one, but I'll judge for myself when I get my copy eventually.  Still have other Tales of games to get to first.

This includes the new PS4 CUH-1200 SKU.  Nice.

Been playing The Talos Principle on my Shield Tablet and it's fantastic. Definitely one to keep in mind when the PS4 version is out.

https://www.telltalegames.com/blog/discussion/97267/minecraft-story-mode-reveal-trailer-and-first-cast-details

You'll control protagonist Jesse throughout the season, as portrayed by actor Patton Oswalt. Jesse and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone; four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.

The season will feature Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens. Look for further casting details to come!

Minecraft: Story Mode will be a standalone product, separate from the core Minecraft game, and will be available to download later this year on PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and compatible iOS and Android-based devices.

We'll also be doing a panel with Mojang at 4:30pm London time Saturday (8:30am PT / 11:30am ET), where we'll go into a little more depth about how our collaboration started and what you can expect to see in Minecraft: Story Mode. If you're joining us at the convention in London, click here to add the panel to your schedule: https://guidebook.com/guide/38653/event/11392026/

No worries if you're not actually at Minecon - you can check out the livestream of the panel here! http://www.twitch.tv/event/minecon

so if you never played any persona games what the hell is the difference between the 3 series...is there a nice page somewhere that explains them or should I just find reviews for each game?
there are alot of spin off series smt wise and persona is one of them. Persona main line smt title nocturne and digital devil saga play the closest to each other. turn based combat where you get an extra turn for exploiting enemy weaknesses, heavy dungeon crawling, alot of myth and such based lore for all the demons and junk that usually ties into the plot.

Persona wise the main difference is that your party members are pretty useless the majority of the time since you can't customize them outside their equipment where as in the other titles you can customize them or in nocturnes case swap them out for better ones. And in persona 3 in particular minus the psp version you can't even control your party members as they are left to dumb ai to do it for you. In a turn based game -_- :wall:

Persona 3/4 have most of the game be dungeon crawling while the rest is jpn high school sim. The only reason to do the high school crap is to increase affection ratings between 20 or so characters called social links. Social links are tied to an exp bonus when you make new demons so that can be ignored. The real reason to do it is you unlock more demons the higher your links go though alot of them you can capture or make without unlocking the links. In persona 4 regular ps2 version they also make a couple characters remove their weakness which is very nice.

The biggest issues for someone new to the games is that they don't give you a proper tutorial for these games and abilities in persona 3 and fes don't have descriptions so you don't even know what they did. psp version of 3 is better since it does include ability descriptions as vague as they can be at times.

As an example there are 2 abilities called mind charge and power charge. They don't tell you the damage multiplier formula for them so you think at best they just double your damage for one turn. The damage multiplier varies between the games and the 2-3 versions between them however so in some of them mind charge increases damage by double and a half making it a bit more useful. The other reason would be to save on hp or sp costs. though sp costs vary between the games and mind charge costs a bit as it is. Power charge would be the more useful one since hp is used for physical attacks. Of course since most enemies aren't weak to physical attacks it makes them kinda useless.

So did Mojang sell only the core minecraft game to Microsoft and his studio kept all rights to the minecraft name?
Do you mean the developer Mojang or Minecraft creator Markus Persson (Notch)? Mojang and Minecraft were sold to Microsoft by Notch and his two co-founders, so they're out.

So did Mojang sell only the core minecraft game to Microsoft and his studio kept all rights to the minecraft name?
Mojang sold Mojang to MS. Completely and totally. Heck, MS already announced they are shutting down future dev of Scrolls, the Mojang collectible card game. I think MS views Minecraft as sort of the 'legos' of the future, easily branded (Star Wars Minecraft!) and version X being played by kids 100 years from now.

IMHO, June was disappointing. Hadn't even bought anything since the May flashy. SCEA's really gonna have to step up their game when it comes to the summer sale. Not to mention, the odds of one happening on Tuesday seem kinda high. But that's only wishful thinking, though.

So the Mimecraft:story mode is Microsoft licensing to Tell Tale. That's what I thought but article made it seem Notch had a hand in it.

Or was he just in a panel?

That's my line of thinking...minecraft included with windows PC instead of solitaire or minesweeper!
My kids went crazy when this last update gave them some new features(don't ask me because I don't know), definitely a branding that will see for many years to come.

Yeah, Mojang and Microsoft licensed the property to Telltale to make an episodic series. Notch and Mojang are separate entities, so Notch has nothing to do with it at this point.

Absolutely. Very charming style too.
I've been holding off for so long hoping for a price drop on the physical. But with that $50 PSN for $33 a ways back plus this sale sealed the deal for he. I love console based builders. All I need is a Panzer/Allied General remake now.

Mimecraft.

(also, w/o reading the article so I don't know if it says or not, but the deal could have been made before MS bought Mojang. That said, as I said I think MS will license the living heck out of minecraft... I think within 10 years there will be Star Wars Minecraft, LOTR minecraft, Marvel Minecraft, etc)

it's not PSN related, but I spend most of my time in this thread... if any of you are regular non-member buyers from gamefly, can you answer my question here? (post 83, https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/347010-gamefly-4th-of-july-used-game-sale-evolve-far-cry-4-ps4xb1-15-and-more/page-3#entry12785631). Second time i've posted that question to no answer.
I'm not really qualified to answer your question because I don't buy many games from Gamefly but I am curious about something. The additional cost for shipping, was it calculated in the total on the last screen before submitting your order or did it just appear in the statement after everything was confirmed? If it's the later, I would ask for a manager to call them out on their BS.

Same here.

This is the gray area. As I've said, I've bought something like 50 games from them over the years. I've always gotten free shipping if the game was marked free shipping.

In this case, the game was clearly marked free shipping but during checkout it showed shipping as ~$3 (the image of the game in checkout even still had the free shipping banner). Because games often sell out on Gamefly quickly, I bought the game, took a screenshot of the free banner, and contacted CS to let them know there was a problem with their site.

I expected a 'whoops, sorry! we fixed it, here's a $3 credit' or something like that, but instead I got 'Only members get free shipping'.... which simply isn't true. I'm my 4th or 5th email with them (all polite), and it's like talking to a brick wall... those kind of CS answers where you feel like they aren't really reading the email and just responding with form letter.

So yes, I checked out knowing they were charging me... and relying on them fixing their error, not going double/triple down on their error.

Furthermore, If i go to the store right now, and pick any game with that banner, I'm not charged shipping. So as far as i'm concerned it was a site error combined with brick wall CS. It's only $3, but it's $3 full of principal -- I don't like being treated like I'm an idiot or a scammer by CS, especially as someone who has spent hundreds of dollars with them over the years.

edit -- just checked my purchase history. I've been buying since 2008, over 80 games. And they're risking losing a customer over $3 worth of incorrect charges they won't correct.

Let it go. I had a similar issue with Best Buy where I know I ordered something for in-store pickup but it was shipped to me instead. Like you, I was pissed, but I just ate the cost. You've already wasted more than $3 of your time going back and forth with them. It's also not worth the mindspace dwelling on it.

You admitted that you clearly saw the shipping charge at checkout and proceeded anyway - that should be your takeaway from all this. Maybe you would have placed an Amazon order in the future, saw something awry there, and assumed customer service would take care of it for you. $3 is a cheap lesson to not make costlier mistakes.

Edit: I also bought a $50 PSN card that did not work. Neither Sony or Best Buy would help me. I was livid for a while, but life goes on.

Oh, I've definitely spent more than $3 of my time... and I'm sure their email interactions have cost them more than $3 in customer service costs. But the difference is I actually find enjoyment in getting these things resolved, so I don't mind. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't misremembering about how free shipping works, but now I'm sure I'm in the right.

If I was actually pissed off or something, you'd be absolutely right about 'letting it go'. But it's more of a diversion for me, just wanting to get this fixed. That $50 card sucks. I can see why it couldn't be resolved, but man, that would suck.

Although amazon definitely would have fixed it easily. The fact that GF isn't shocks me. It's worth refunding $3 for a long term customer even if they're wrong, let alone if they're right. I also would like to do business with them again, and I won't if it doesn't get fixed... so I'd prefer it get fixed.

Never mind, Mitch clarified everything below. I haven't bought anything on GF in about a year so I didn't know about the banner thing.

Affa, that banner shows up even if only the new game is the one with the free shipping.  It's been like that as long as I can remember, even before the whole website redesign.  An example is Dying Light on the PS4.  Shows Free shipping.  Only works on the New one when added to cart.  Diablo hasn't been in a sale that I can recall recently so that should explain it.

Been a customer for what, 7 years and never knew that --- i've always just sorted by 'free shipping' and bought whatever was listed and never paid shipping. But... that makes sense, or, at least explains it. I can't say I like that design, but at least now I now why it happened and they can keep their stinking $3.

I still wish we had the old site, lol. I miss listing everything by name, no images. Actually, that might be why i never noticed... I believe that view on the old version made it very clear what had free shipping, and that's the only view i ever used.

Thanks for putting the issue to rest!
