:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Looking at In Space We Brawl and Paperbound on the PS4.  Anyone played them?  Are they only good for local co-op?  I have no friends.

As reported, Flying Hamster HD for NA doesn't work on the PSTV. I was able to load it by using the webstore and pushing it to my PSTV. Maybe I'll shoot the dev an email and request it (edit: polite email sent to [email protected]). Either way, I bought it knowing it wasn't compatible and mainly to play on my Vita when I finally take the plunge.

My kids are going to flip out. I love that it's PS3 & Vita as well as PS4. Hopefully it'll be PSTV compatible with the Vita version like the SAO games.

Congrats Kenshindono I think you officially scared me off from Disgaea for a good century,

Who has enough time for all that? :O

Backlog is already ridiculous as it is.
In fairness to the game, the mainline story can be completed in 25-30 hours. I thought it was pretty entertaining and well worth the time spent back in the day. If you want to dive deeply into the end game and watch your characters' stats go up and up and up, you can spend a lot of time, but that isn't required. If you have a passing interest in SRPGs, it's one of the best.

Throw a few bucks at it! Backlog! Backlog! One of us one of us!

That's how I play them. I might screw around with end game stuff for a while, but fortunately, I'm not obsessed with fully completing every aspect of a game. Disgaea is probably my favorite series of games and I don't feel compelled to do everything.

I sent them an email as well. Its a fun vita game though, but id like to play it on my big tv too.

Yes, they're all bad ports with poor emulation and rearranged music.

Why even spend money on these? The Mega Man Legacy Collection comes out on the 25th and is going to be 100x better.

Removed them all from my cart. Thanks killscottkill, saved me a minor headache.

Also, Id like to bring this IGN article to attention as well.

I got a reply from them, they are all working on the new Monster Boy game and don't have the time to do it. They said the Sony EU folks must have set it as PSTV compatible over there when it published as they originally didn't do anything to make it compatible.

Looking into Monster Boy I see it's a new but unofficial Monster World game but with the same original creator involved. It looks exceptionally good for those that like the original series, Shantae, or Metroidvania's. Given that's one of my favorite genre, I'm cool with them being too busy. I just hope they announce it for Vita as currently is only PS4 & PC with more tba.

That sucks. It's a fun shmup. I wonder if it works in the EU. If it does, maybe no changes are required and they just need to flip the switch in NA.

That seems to be the case with a number of games that have been enabled in some regions and not others.

We know for sure that's the case with PS1 games and Vita compatibility. :oldman:

Um, the Legacy Collection is only for PC, PS4 & XBone. A 3DS version comes out in 2016.

These imports are PS3, PSVita, PSP & PSTV compatible.

So I guess it really depends on what platform you plan to play em on and if you can deal with a little trial and error to figure out the menus. Overall they seem like a decent alternate option to playing these classics for now.

Maybe when they get Monster Boy done they'll be more open to looking into finding out why it's not compatible. Seems like they are a pretty small company.

lol, i dont mean to discourage anyone from playing Disgaea. I love the series. It was just a very valid warning to those with OCD tendencies that the game can be a crazy time sink

Besides the original Mega Man, which other MM games are worth getting?

Just a quick note: Mega Man 8 will not be included in the Legacy Collection, so if there is any chance at all that you will want to play through the series, then you should really buy 8 now, because this is the one and only way you're going to be able to play it (outside of the original disc, obviously) for a long, long while.

I just bought a physical copy of 4 and have the ds version (just called Disgaea, I guess this is the first one?) as well. I played the demo of 4 and liked it, but I haven't played the vita game or the ds game yet. Are one or more of the earlier games different enough to warrant picking them up in the sale to add to the backlog?

or i just suck at english grammar?
FriskyTanuki is this true?

Thinking about getting either Demon Gaze or Danganronpa trigger happy despair. Can anyone help sway me one way or the other? I've heard good things about both so I'm a bit torn as to which to get.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection includes 1 through 8, it came out on GC, PS2 & XB. I'm pretty sure I still have the GC version. So there are other legit ways to play 8 it besides the PSN version and original disc.

is this true?
Well, they came right out and said that this is the last week of sales, so I'm pretty sure that means the answer is yes

you do suck at English grammar.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Yeah, that too. I was thinking more to play it on PS3/PS4/Vita, which that doesn't help with unless you still have a working BC PS3.

Each new Disgaea game tends to add new features/systems on top of what's already there, but one game doesn't play all that differently than the next. I'd recommend the entire series based on story/characters, but not for someone looking for variation in game play.

You have to switch discs in the options screen, though (press guide on PS3 or Vita). Weirdly, the game defaults to original Strider until you make the swap.

Mega Man 8 is an all right PSOne game, but the Saturn version is (slightly) better. There are two optional bosses from earlier Mega Man games and the gallery is built right into the disc, rather than being offered as a book (which, of course, is no longer in print).

Thanks! I'll just stick with what I have.

Ironically, 1-6 are based on the Rockman Complete Works games released in Japan. They removed some of the features though in the Anniversary Collection. I feel like we're going in circles.

Picked up Kung fu rabbit for vita, my ps tv is coming in soon so I hope it's compatible, but all the lists of compatible games are incomplete. There are a lot of psp games I'm going to pickup for my ps tv, but those are even more bothersome with sometimes having to transfer, or get from your download list.

So $1 is what I spent during the summer sale weeks. Not that the deals were bad, everything I would have wanted I already own. I definitely have a problem that I buy more old games or discounted new ones just to tack them onto my backlog list.

/off topic, the PS3 is almost 10 years old and I still play backlog games that look amazing, what devs learned to squeeze out of those spus is amazing. I wonder how long this gem will last? I'm on no rush to upgrade my ps4, if anything still waiting for funds for a wii U and Xbox One.

Holy shit at God of War: Ascension size 35 gb. Damn. Only rented it when it first came out so no online pass. Only need that online trophy for the plat but not gonna download just for the plat.

Kinda lame only Destiny Legendary Collectors edition is up right now. If they have the 60 version I'll buy right now. I'll guess I'll wait until it next month.

Thoughts on The Last Tinker and Pier Solar and the Great Architects?  I watched some footage on YT of both games and I still can't decide if they are worth picking up.

Pretty good sale on PSN nevertheless. Right now my "plan to purchase" list contains Strider 2, Kung Fu Rabbit, White Night, and Pix The Cat.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Danganronpa's a graphic novel-style game, so get that if you want to read a lot, or don't if you don't.

In for Beyond Good & Evil as well as Ridge Racer Unbounded. Thinking about picking up MXGP, some of the Disegea's, Danganronpa and/or one of the Hyperdimension games.

I'm wondering if this is close to my last chance to get MotoGP14 on sale.  I have a disc, but I'd like it digitally.  The sale isn't that great on the PS4, but it seems like the games from the previous years never go on sale.

I thought all PS3 systems played PS1 discs.

So I got Short Peace since I've been waiting for it to hit $15 or less, and I'm so glad I waited, because it really isn't worth the $40 MSRP,

Putting aside the Grasshopper/Crispy's game, the copy of the movie that's included isn't that great. It comes in it's own 1.5 GB app, bundled with the game app, and the short films are in 720p and feature a stereo-only Japanese audio track. The video quality is good for most of it, but it's pretty bad during Gambo, due to the grainy filtering used in the short.

I'd say get it if you're interested, and if you like the films grab a copy of the Blu-ray (usually $14-15 on Amazon).

Good to know. I am quite interested in this but really feel like $5 would be the sweet spot on it.
