:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Noticed there are some games on sale that are under $9.99 which I don't own yet.

Any recommendations on the following games:

Front Mission 3
Elevator Action Deluxe
Vagrant Story
Moon Diver
Citizens of Earth
TorqueL

Right now I have Thexder in my cart. Any feedback is welcome.
That depends on what types of games you like. My personal preference from that list is Front Mission 3 (if you like Final Fantasy tactics or Fire Emblem type gameplay) and Vagrant Story (an action rpg some dubbed as one of the best ps1 titles made).

cit of earth would be the first i grab

front mission

story

havent play the rest

Why does that game never go on sale? I've been waiting for it for half a year since I got my PSTV, seen multiple Square Enix/Final Fantasy sales that thematically should have had FFX/X-2 Vita discounted, but it's always stayed at MSRP.
There's only like two FF sales a year generally and it was $20 in each of the last two.

I'm mostly into side scrolling games and the occasional FPS.

When it comes to RPG's, I'm pickier. I love Parasite Eve, the style of Mario RPG/Legend of Dragoon, and the little I played of Final Fantasy VII I liked.

Generally I don't like how a turn based "oh just hit me as I stand here unable to do anything for too long" RPG plays out (hence why I like Parasite Eve so much) so I would like to avoid those.

YMMV but walmart.... $11
A few others also new to clearance

Maybe I misremember or just missed it somehow, but I've been checking in on PSN prices weekly in the time since getting my PSTV and I don't remember ever seeing it. I don't know.

I'd prefer digital but at this price I'll definitely consider physical. I'll check it out.

Front Mission 3 and Vagrant Story. It all depends on what your in the mood to play. But if you really can't decide, get Vagrant Story. And by the time you finish it, you'll be wanting a sequel.

In that case, skip front mission 3 but pick up Vagrant Story.

Wasn't it on sale the last big FF sale? Am I thinking of the PS4 version or something? Someone else mentioned it as well.
It was a different version. I don't remember which specifically, but I do remember seeing it in one of the other lists and then getting annoyed when I discovered the Vita version was left out.

Vagrant Story for 2.99? Looks like poppas skipping lunch tomorrow and urban foraging for eatable greens in the big city . Rip to my 22 day streak of no diarrhea :/

The Walmart I was just at (I'm out of town) had quite a bit of clearance vita games, had 3-4 copies of tearaway and the FFX/FFX-2 bundle left.
I'd have just picked them all up and shipped to those that wanted them here.. But $3 or so shipping to would have kinda killed the deals.

It's a Chrome extension that when installed and you go to the PlayStation store it'll download your entire purchase history which can then be sorted, searched, or you can have it only show the downloads for a specific system. You can also export the list to a spreadsheet.
Oh that is friggin awesome! Assuming its legit? Man i wish they had something for that for all my digital games. I have so many random things from various bundles that i need to try to sort through

Grabbed Beyond Good & Evil HD, always wanted to play that game.

Seriously considering picking these up last minute:

GRIMgRiMoiRe (The story looks like something I'd really enjoy, not sure what to make of the gameplay, although I am a huge RTS fan the side-scrolling RTS thing is... odd.)

Ridge Racer Unbounded (I don't have any racing games on my PS3 so I feel like it'd be a nice change of pace every now and then.)

Pier Solar (Cross Buy makes this intriguing, love classic JRPGs but it seems a little short for your standard JRPG.)

Strider 2

Legend of Korra (Loved Avatar:TLA but never seen LOK and I love beat em up style games like DmC so it seems like something I'd enjoy.)

I loved The Last Airbender but never got around to watching LoK (I will eventually I'm sure, I don't watch shows nearly as much as I used to.) Will the game be ripe with spoilers or is it a side-story? I'm definitely considering it (especially with the comparisons to MGR and DmC.)
I loved Avatar too, but LoK kinda sucks. Main character is just friggin unbearable to me. I only watched the first season then kinda dropped it.

Hey though! is the game not cross buy? I just bought the ps3 version because thats what i was on when i was browsing. Assumed it would give me the ps4 version as well but i dont see it on my list

Is that vote to play thing ONLY for ps4? Id like to vote on ps3 and especially vita as well

Man i cant decide. Armelo looks pretty damn interesting, but zombie vikings is by the guys behind stick it to the man which was hilarious. WHat is it exactly? They call it a brawler which makes me think fighting game. Is it like the old school streets of rage games? If so i may have to pick that. I love those things. But damn Armelo does look interesting too. Arrgghh decisions decisions.

I hope with 3.0 they finally let us hide the deleted items from our library. I hate seeing old betas, demos and PS Plus games I didn't like in there.
yes plz!

Is this the first time Parasite Eve has gone on sale? Or is it one of the regulars with the usual squarenix sales? Same with Vagrant story and legend of mana. Just wanna know if I can expect them to go on sale again next time.

I liked my PSP too but didn't use it much because i kept getting a 'are you sure you want to eject the disk' message randomly when i played. Never did find a fix for it and t got too annoying so i just stopped using it. Anyone ever had/heard of some way to fix it? I still have a pretty big library of games to play. I guess i can open one of my extra systems up but i liked my god of war one

Wow I didn't know Armello was making it to the PS4 so soon. I backed the project, but I wanted it for my tablet. So far the game has been fun on PC and the art is pretty solid
would it be something i could play with my 9 year old niece or is the system pretty in-depth?

It's a permanent price drop from last week.

It's that cheap because it's a pre-order bonus for the next game.
Is this digital only? I dont think is saw anything about this when i pre ordered my physical copy of sword art online

Just note that playing the PSone version you will have loading....good old loading. You still get the anime cutscenes, which were new with that version, and their is likely some input lag in the menus and such. I'm sure it will be fine and I bet if you play it on the Vita it will likely load decently enough.

It is a classic for a reason and was gorgeous at the time with a great soundtrack and some great characters (still don't like the cavegirl....). Magus was awesome and Frog was one of Square's best characters ever.
Frog was friggin awesome

Done and done. Picked up Vagrant Story, Citizens of Earth, Elevator Action, and Thexder Neo.

Wallet is down to 91 cents.

I might take you up on that. But I gotta check my local ones first. Is it $11 or $20?

I would love to remove the Destiny Beta and P.T. from my list. I'm just happy that I can set up Child Sub Accounts now.

Anyone play Lords of Arcana? How is it?

I might take you up on that. But I gotta check my local ones first. Is it $11 or $20?
I'd be interested in a $11 + shipping copy too...

I don't own Parasite Eve, so probably.... I own Vagrant and LoMana, and I think they go on sale regularly. But I do have distinct memories of 3rd birthday being on sale at one point, so perhaps i just didn't buy PE.

Frisky knows all this stuff.

Holy crap. I have pretty much the SAME memories -- distinct memories of going into Babbages to buy Thexder for the Apple IIgs. I don't remember buying most games, but that one -- clear as day. I have no idea why.

How is it? Worth grabbing this one?

I am really enjoying my time with it. I believe the PSP version does not include the classic mode.

I think I know the answer to this but does Dead or Alive DLC ever go on sale?
Yes, but they're still never cheap. Like the DLC characters are normally $4.99 each I think; when it's on sale, it's like $10.99 for three DLC characters. Or $8.99 for a bundle of a dozen costumes instead of .99 apiece.

Hit Walmart last night for some groceries and figured I'd check the games section.  Last I looked FF X-X2 Vita was $20 as I posted earlier... and sure enough it was last night too.  Those of you that can get it for $11, wow... good deal, but I've only seen Hot Shots Golf and Sly Cooper Thieves in Time down that low at my Walmart stores.  I figured since my store was down to two copies, Amazon is selling from a 3rd party supplier for $30, & Gamestop locally only has 1 copy (and it's probably opened, yuck!)... I'd grab a copy so I'd at least have it sealed and value retained.  I can decide later to open it or the PS3 version I already own when I'm ready to play.

So far so good on me resisting this week's sales.  I needed a break anyway after the last two weeks of solid sales on PSN.

So far I grabbed:

Legend of Mana

Chrono Cross

And probably going to get FF IX

Trying to debate between FF IV and FF VI right now. I hear FFVI has long load times and I was annoyed with that when I played Lost Odyssey on the 360. It didn't ruin the (fantastic) game, but it was a constant annoyance.

I'll wait for the FF7 remake on PS4 and skip FF7 for now. And yes, first time FF player :)

I need to get back into Vagrant Story. I had it about 10 years ago and loved how it felt like a 3D-dark fantasy Metroid, but lost interest when all my attacks did exactly 1 damage to enemies.

Was there any strategy to overcome that?

PSDLE... OMG... SOOOOOO AWESOME.  I opted to install chrome for this one thing and it was well worth it.  Here's the LESS confusing way of setting this up (just use chrome and install the extension):

http://repod.github.io/psdle/

Once installed, hit the store.playstation.com and and log in.  Then click the little Flag icon in the upper right of the address bar to activate PSDLE and a PSDLE logo will then show up in the lower left of the screen.  Click that logo and a form will drop down.  Don't worry about selecting anything, just hit start.  It'll load up everything in your purchase history.  From there, you can narrow it by removing PS+ stuff, removing systems you don't want to see or whatever.   It's great because it has the actual purchase date and not the date the license renewed like what happens when PS+ renews.   I personally wanted a downloadable copy to throw into a spreadsheet and to get it I just hit Export View and then used the .CSV version.  The enter marks ended up characters in notepad instead of creating a new line, so I opened the resulting file in Wordpad... added a space then deleted it and saved the file.  Then it looked right in notepad.  From there I will import it into a spreadsheet (I'm using Calc from openoffice.org) and can sort it any way I see fit.

Oh how easy this makes tracking this stuff and just staring at the massive list of stuff.

It's not perfect, there doesn't appear to be a way to eliminate icons, dlc, and so on, but it's close enough to where I can just add a column in the spreadsheet and determine what is game from other stuff.

The unexpected thing it does do though is show the status of if you got it through PS+ or not.  That is extra helpful as some games have ended up converting from PS+ purchases to actual purchases and this is an easy way to see that (if you remember what was PS+ or not).  Example, Don't Starve Giant Edition... it shows as not being a PS+ game for me, though originally it was.

:)

Thanks for everyone hammering that option several times.  I made note of it and am glad I finally took the time to go that route.  It would have taken me a while to sort through over 1000 items to make that starter list.   Maintaining it will be pretty easy since it sorts by purchase date by default.

Alright fellas, I need some advice. Final Fantasy Tactics WOTL or Tactics Ogre...... Willing to spend the 10 if it blows FFT out of the water otherwise I'll just go with the cheaper one. Thanks
I have played both, and I personally lean towards Tactics Ogre.

I liked Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis (GBA), but Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together was a very nice improvement on the formula.

History:

I played Ogre Battle 64 before I played the Final Fantasy Tactics, and I have never played the original SNES/PS1 Tactics Ogre. So this opinion might be based on nostalgia.

Wonder if the PS4 version on Rainbow Moon will support cross-saves as well? Picked up the game pretty recently for my PSTV but would be cool if I could continue on the PS4 when I want to.

Rainbow Skies will be available for the PlayStation®4 system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system in the second half of 2016, while the PlayStation®4 system version of Rainbow Moon will launch sometime in 2016. Both titles will support Cross-Save functionality.

Sure you can.

There should be two menu bars across your screen -- at the top, all the various platforms (ps4, ps3, vita, etc). All on by default.

Slightly lower is another row, where you can deselect quite a few categories -- avatars, demos, dlc, 'unknown', and a few others.

NOTE -- I did the same thing as you, moved it into a spreadsheet. You need to be careful just removing every category that isn't 'game', because I found 1 or 2 games that got removed by accident (iirc they were in 'unknown') but a bit of care and cross checking will fix this (basically, I limited the list to each category, then scanned for any misplaced games).

If you don't see the bars I'm talking about, lmk and i'll take a screenshot.

If you want to see Citizens of Earth in action, here's my video of an early part of the game near its launch:

It's a good Earthbound clone with some great features to let you tailor the experience to your tastes (difficulty, easy access merchants, fast travel, quick movement around the map, and others) with the many citizens you can recruit for your party.
