:ps4: Foul Play - $2.00 to $100.00 [customspoiler='Fine Print'] :ps4: Foul Play is a part of the PlayStation Heroes program, which means that you can pay your choice among a variety of price points for an item that is usually a theme for entries into a contest to win some prize with most of the money going to a charity. There are no details at the moment for what the prize for buying Foul Play offers, so I'll post that whenever it's announced.

Edit: From the PlayStation Heroes app on PS4, the Foul Play promotion is for a trip to PlayStation Experience in December. Once you purchase the game, you're supposed to go here to register for the actual contest, though you should wait until the page is updated for the PlayStation Experience promotion instead of whatever it's on at the moment.[/customspoiler]

Bought FF8. Already picked up FF7, and FF9 during past sales. Haven't played it since the game first came out. Can't remember much about it besides the triple triad card game, and drawing spells over and over. I've enjoyed playing these on my PSP though. Thinking about getting FF3 also, but I might hold out for the DS version to have a physical copy. Is there any difference between the PSP and DS versions? The art style seems to be the same.

I wish I could forget everything about FF8 and experience it all over again. Lucky bastard.

If you don't see the bars I'm talking about, lmk and i'll take a screenshot.
Actually I didn't have it. I turned off Adblock on the site and then flashblock... still nothing... then I realized that there was another option before starting the script called "Catalog" , once I turned that on then it took it a while to download the additional data. It's not on by default and appears to need to be set each time PSDLE is run.

So that should be even more helpful in making a spreadsheet as I can just use the site to narrow each category to put the classifications in my spreadsheet. It should be pretty easy to catch the ones that are miscategorized. I'd imagine the games with demos that have unlock keys are special cases.

I need to get back into Vagrant Story. I had it about 10 years ago and loved how it felt like a 3D-dark fantasy Metroid, but lost interest when all my attacks did exactly 1 damage to enemies.

Was there any strategy to overcome that?
Yes. It has to do with weapon types and targeting.

I have the Giant Edition on my ps3 right now via cross-buy from the one we got from PS+.
Yeah, when they upgraded the basic version we got with PS+ it converted the game to the paid Giant Edition. There are a lot of games that this has happened with which is why it's so good PSDLE shows if we actually own them or not.

Just put my vote in for the :ps4: PS+ game. I went with Grow Home, I really want that to win. I wouldn't be mad if Zombie Vikings won though, I just hope it isn't Armello.

Anyone play Lords of Arcana? How is it?

I'd be interested in a $11 + shipping copy too...

I don't own Parasite Eve, so probably.... I own Vagrant and LoMana, and I think they go on sale regularly. But I do have distinct memories of 3rd birthday being on sale at one point, so perhaps i just didn't buy PE.

Frisky knows all this stuff.
Lords of arcana is ok. Very average game. Kinda a dungeon crawling monster hunter style i would say? I played it for a bit and lost interest.

Alright fellas, I need some advice. Final Fantasy Tactics WOTL or Tactics Ogre...... Willing to spend the 10 if it blows FFT out of the water otherwise I'll just go with the cheaper one. Thanks
THough i own all i have only played FFT. Its one of my fave ps1 games

Hah! that red psp in the video is the one i have with the problem

Yea that bend the pin thing doesn't work. I hardly used mine they were basiclally new and i tried it anyway. Thats the only solution i ever saw. HOWEVER that 2nd link has someone mentioning a button or something on the top left. I"ll have to look in there with a flashlight. Its possible that the lever that hits it is losing contact makingn it think the tray is open. That would make sense. Im just not sure how to shim it up safely without leaving residue or gunking up the system

thanks for the link. If that works i think i'll finally trail trails in the sky! Been meaning to play that forever

PSDLE... OMG... SOOOOOO AWESOME. I opted to install chrome for this one thing and it was well worth it. Here's the LESS confusing way of setting this up (just use chrome and install the extension):

http://repod.github.io/psdle/

Once installed, hit the store.playstation.com and and log in. Then click the little Flag icon in the upper right of the address bar to activate PSDLE and a PSDLE logo will then show up in the lower left of the screen. Click that logo and a form will drop down. Don't worry about selecting anything, just hit start. It'll load up everything in your purchase history. From there, you can narrow it by removing PS+ stuff, removing systems you don't want to see or whatever. It's great because it has the actual purchase date and not the date the license renewed like what happens when PS+ renews. I personally wanted a downloadable copy to throw into a spreadsheet and to get it I just hit Export View and then used the .CSV version. The enter marks ended up characters in notepad instead of creating a new line, so I opened the resulting file in Wordpad... added a space then deleted it and saved the file. Then it looked right in notepad. From there I will import it into a spreadsheet (I'm using Calc from openoffice.org) and can sort it any way I see fit.

Oh how easy this makes tracking this stuff and just staring at the massive list of stuff.

It's not perfect, there doesn't appear to be a way to eliminate icons, dlc, and so on, but it's close enough to where I can just add a column in the spreadsheet and determine what is game from other stuff.

The unexpected thing it does do though is show the status of if you got it through PS+ or not. That is extra helpful as some games have ended up converting from PS+ purchases to actual purchases and this is an easy way to see that (if you remember what was PS+ or not). Example, Don't Starve Giant Edition... it shows as not being a PS+ game for me, though originally it was.

:)

Thanks for everyone hammering that option several times. I made note of it and am glad I finally took the time to go that route. It would have taken me a while to sort through over 1000 items to make that starter list. Maintaining it will be pretty easy since it sorts by purchase date by default.
thats this thing right?

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/psdle/jdjhhapoddhnimgdemnpbfagndcnmhii?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog

definitely need to try this if its as great as you say it is. Wish there was a program where i could enter all my physical games too =P

I wish I could forget everything about FF8 and experience it all over again. Lucky bastard.
I wish i could just forget everything about FF8 period =P

Yep, it should be so much better on the low-rez 3DS screen, vs. the Vita's much higher resolution screen. SMH.
Well, if he's saying he doesn't have the 3.3 GB to spare on his Vita memory card and would rather play it on the 3DS in that case, I can see his point. I know that pretty much any time I buy a 3.3 GB Vita game, it comes with a bonus "okay, now what do I delete so I can play this?" minigame... And I have a 32 GB card...

Yeah the point was missed there lol

+1 for Armello.  Looks great, and the reviews on Steam are very positive, despite only a pre-release demo having been released there so far.. or "early access" as people are calling it these days.

I've been staring at all these Squeenix games on sale and I realized something...

Why isn't Saga Frontier on psn? Or the sequel? I loved those games...

Is there a way to turn off auto sign in on ps3 for your PSN account? I turned it on temporarily because it timed out on a download when i was away and cant seem to find the option to turn it off again. I want to have to manualy sign into PSN every time

1.6GB to install and 1.7GB for the update. Also, save often for the vita.
why save often? Is the vita version super buggy or something? That was the version i was going to snag because i assumed it looked better than 3ds. Dont see a point in playing on the ps4 when it would have ran fine on ps3.

though it is cross buy right? If i want to play th console versino too?

Log out, go to sign in, uncheck automatically sign in.

Content Manager. Move data to your PC or a PS3 if you don't want to delete something and have to download it again.

Looks like Grow Home is probably going to win and I'm not sure why..  I watched this 30 minute feature on gamespot and the game looks frustrating and boring.  Oh well hope the losers get a great price like $5 each, will probably pick them up if that's the case.

Have we gotten any word on how Playstation Mobile games will work after September?

I don't remember the details, but as I recall there's something you have to activate before you can play a PSM game. Even if you've already downloaded the game and you're just switching memory cards, you'll still have to jump through hoops before you can play it again.

Problem is, we don't know if those hoops will even be there after September 10th. With any luck they'll do a system update that will always allow PSM games to be played.

Hmm you can store it on your pc and put it back? I didn't think you could back up games. How do you do that? I remember wanting to back up some games so i didn't have to re-download

when does the voting end? Thats the ONLY game i dont want. I havent voted since i couldn't decide between the beat em up and that weird looking board game thing. Grow home looked dull as hell though

Had no idea what I was getting myself into with Prinny. Game is brutally hard in the best way that a Super Meat Boy or Dark Souls manages to be.

I wish I could forget everything about FF8 and experience it all over again. Lucky bastard.
Lol, I'm sure it will come back to me as I play the game, but it's been over 15 years. Of all the FF games that I've played( all but 1-3, 11,14) it's the only FF game that I've only played once.

You can store it on your PC with the USB that comes with the Vita (Any third party USB does not work). When you copy the game to your PC, it will also copy your game saves (So you do not need to have plus to back-up saves), any updates for that game (You do not need to redownload the update), and tell you how much space you need to redownload (Right down the MB). Do not use the wireless feature, it sucks.

I don't think it's the case anymore, but the game had crash issues at launch that were fixed a while after launch. It's still a good idea to save often so you don't lose progress since the autosave wasn't good when I last played it.

No cross buy.

I had a dream there would be a flash sale today and that it would be good. Here's to Legend Of Dragoon for $1.....quick everyone use the power of positive thinking to make this a reality.

I played it on Hard Mode (1 hit kill) and yeah it is brutal but in a good way. Thank goodness for checkpoints. I like how the hidden stuff (typically up high) requires some actual skill to get. I think you can switch to easy mode (3 hit kill) at any time, but it is more satisfying beating a level on hard mode.

I avoided playing anything Disgaea till last week during the sale and now I love it all. Strategy games, platformers, and even the visual novel thing. The characters have a lot of charm too dood.

...

I'm both hoping for and dreading a flash sale. I love to shop for games when they are dirt cheap... but I really hope we don't have a flash sale and it comes next week or the week after... and it's the one blowout sale each year with $0.99 games.

You guys are making me wish I bought Prinny and i hate platformers.

Nobody knows exactly how it'll work super long term, but for now what you absolutely need to do is:

Go to [Settings] > [PSN] > [System Activation] > [PlayStation Mobile] > [Activate] > [OK].

How this will work next year, if you switch mem cards, etc, is still unknown and pretty much guesswork. Worse case, we're all locked down from that point... best case, Sony decides to keep allowing us to activate if we own content.

Yup. DLC gets backed up too.

PSP/PS1 $1 flash sale on a wide array of games that rarely go on sale would be a dream.

though i already own that dragon game so don't need it to go on sale ever again, I'm never going to play it anyway because i don't particularly like dragon games. Lair ruined them for me forever -- I don't even like Spyro anymore -- so I don't even know why I bought that Legend crap.

I haven't seen a flash sale in a long time that didn't get leaked early in the week. There's always a listing from South America or a screenshot a few days before a flash sale goes live.

Citizens of Earth looks like a price drop since it doesn't show a discount, and Amazon has now matched it.

It's a sale, not a permanent price drop.
