When we played thumper no one shit themselves though.

We played a game called zoo. Each player picks an animal an would make a hand gesture. Someone would start and do their sign and then make someone else's sign. That person would do their sign and someone else's. Kept going till someone screwed it up. I think you could not make the sign of the person who just made your sign.

Damn it, it just hit me that cheapy used to do a "Best Off Topic" award every year on the CHeapy awards before he turned into a complete lazy asshole and stopped doing them entirely.

We definitely would have a good chance of winning that every year.

Finished Tales from Space: About a Blob 1 of 4 #JumpingJune

I got better at controlling the blob but it never stopped being slightly awkward. In order to reach blue orbs out of reach of just normal jumping you have to find the sweet spot of doing a diagonal slam, followed immediately by a jump to get enough vertical and lateral speed to reach the high ones. Trying to do this over death pits is really annoying, if there is one wrong move and you die you get sent back to the last spawn point and every blue orb collected since then is lost. Many times I had spent several minutes meticulously jumping to collect orbs only to be killed by weapon fire or fall to my death erasing all that work.

Something I discovered late in the process is you can game the system via the co-op mode. At any time you can press start on player 2 and another blob enters the game. As long as one blob is alive, the other can respawn after a few seconds. So if you are low on HP, tag in player 2, kill yourself by pressing select, respawn at full HP, then kill player 2 with select and then don't press X to respawn and you're back in single player. There are also a few time based puzzles (such as pressing a button over here unlocks a gate over there) that will be made less frustrating by temporarily bringing in player 2 to wait by the door which opens.

Though one of best uses of player 2 is as a fail safe when collecting orbs in precarious positions or to grab orbs that are easier to acquire by grabbing them as you fall to your death. In single player mode, you have to survive to the next check point for acquired orbs to be saved, but in multiplayer (even if it's just one person inching along with 2 blobs) as long as one survives it doesn't matter. So you can park player 2 in a safe place nearby and then go for the dangerous orbs with player 1.

One thing the developers did do right is once you acquire a blue orb and reach a save point you never have to collect it again. Orbs or friendly NPC blobs (3 hidden blobs per level) you have picked up on previous playthroughs are grayed out. So if you were to come up a few orbs short of 85% for gold ranking in a run, instead of recollecting all the orbs again you only have to collect a few that you have not previously collected to put you over the top.

The trophy distribution is quite bizarre, you get a silver trophy for silver ranking in all levels (like 60-84% completion), a gold trophy for gold ranking in all levels (85-99% completion), a bronze trophy for platinum ranking in all levels (100% of blue orbs and all 3 blob friends), and a bronze trophy for speed runs (really hard minimum time limits to beat levels). So the two hardest trophies by far are bronze. Getting gold rank isn't really that hard since blob friends are worth like 15% each and most levels have a LOT of orbs. If you look in the lower right hand corner the gauge fills up as you acquire orbs and blob friends and will change color depending on your current ranking.

It's a pretty easy 950ish TT points if you do everything but the two hardest trophies.

The amount of stressful platforming and quick time event final boss fight totally killed the finale of dying light. Beat it tonight but it just wasn't really fun. Thanks alot Simmias for helping me cut down on so much grinding. I'm not even gonna plat this because it seems the side missions and collectibles would take another week or so and the parkour and challenges and rescues don't seem too fun either.

I started on Agarest: Generations of War. I already had it on Steam and the summer sale has Zero for 4.99 and 2 for 6.79, so wanted to check out the series to decide whether the other games are worth buying. It's a very awkward game mechanically, and the story and dialogue are not well done. I recommend a pass if you've got any interest. There are much better sRPGs for PS3/Vita.

Anybody know if Zero or Two change things up enough to make them worth playing?

What the fuck was the story on that first goal Pharm? Jesus Christ, I expect to see that in peewee leagues not the Stanley Cup Finals.
bishop has a concussion? It's the only explanation for such a bonehead play. That one is squarely on his shoulders. Shame to lose a game because of a goal like that.

Whelp, exploding zoo did something weird... it reset some of my progress but not all of it.  I can level select any board but there's no record that I cleared it.  It also looks like it reset my stickers, which is a little annoying because I'm pretty sure I only needed one or two more.

I'm glad there's not a trophy for completing all levels because I was literally on the last one.... this is why I never play these rinky dink games when they're first released.

And exploding zoo plat.

Game was pretty meh, but not too bad.  My son got a kick out of watching me play it.  My wife and daughter are at a dance competition for a few days so I'm going to surprise him with the TMNT PS3 game which I'm sure is going to be a blast passing the controller back and forth on that.... stupid developers and their anti couch co-op conspiracies.

ah cool so I guess I will try and see if my daughter will play this and not Infinity.

So rpg's trick for the baby aliens works?
Yep, they've been posting about it on the trophy guide forum. One thing I didn't see mentioned anywhere that I had to do was to take out the one on the left right before he gets to the egg... he's a little bit further ahead of the other one and it will give you time for one more baby to spawn.

If you use a $15 coupon on an item that's $14.99, you don't have to pay anything right? My wife says you pay tax on the original price but I thought it was on the final price.

If you're talking about a Gamestop coupon, then your final total should be $0.00.

Just be aware that if you return it then GS considers only the amount you paid as returnable--coupon values aren't included in the purchase, even if you spent a bunch of points on the things. Which is stupid as fuck but that's how they do it.

Dunno how many of you guys also game on PC, but if you do and like precision platformers, Deadcore is pretty damn cool. Massive levels, lots of interesting jumps/dashes/traps etc. to get past, different paths and collectibles, instant respawn, and it's $2.50 for the duration of the current Steam sale (ends on 6/21.)

Not many levels, but they're quite big so that's okay. I just spent about an hour and fifteen minutes on the 3rd level.

TB is pretty bad at games in general and precision platformers specifically so he bitches about that, but it's a good look at the gameplay without being an experienced speedrun. He did have a couple of crashes but he played on release--I've not had a single issue in the ~3 hours I've played.

And another fuck you to sony for not having any way to actually email customer support/service.

I don't want to call and have to spend time on hold and navigate a phone tree.  (which of course isn't open 24/7)

Nor do I want to engage in a "live chat" with a customer representative.

I've talked to their live chat a few times. They've always been pretty quick and helpful. YMMV, of course, but I'd recommend it over waiting for an email.

Shit I was going to use this $5 off at GameStop to get a $4.99 game, but it says not valid on items less than $5. I'm thinking if I combine it with my $15 off and my $14.99 game, it should work appropriately? So $19.98 total, minus $20 in coups.

It also says "Cannot be combined with any other offer."

New amiibo's, too. I hear some people here like them:

I'll try for Falco and the Dog, maybe Mr Game & Watch too. Pass on the other 4.
Game & Watch apparently can have different poses, which sounds cool. I might go for that, R.O.B, and Falco if Best Buy or Amazon gets listings that don't sell out in seconds.

There's apparently a few more coming out with those (Falco isn't pictured for some reason):

Of the other ones, I might try for Olimar because Pikmin is awesome.

You have to add the img tags manually.

I picked up a marvel vs capcom 3 collectors edition fight stick at hpb today for around $65. My only regret was that I didn't see it last time there was a bigger coupon available. I guess I also regret that I'll sell it instead of keeping it, but only a little.
Great deal MildPete. I got 2x SF4 Round 2 Tournament Fightsticks and 2 x MK Arcade sticks. Love having a Fightsticks available for my fighting games.

Strike suit zero. Didnt someone say they played this? How the fuck am I supposed to pass mision 6 minefield? It's impossible to make it back to the aurora to stop the mines from destroying the ship. I tried with the fastest ship. I tried looking on with mssiles but nothing works. It's impossible to make it in time. This isn't the first mision I have had trouble with either. The game okay except for dumn shit like this. About to rage delete it.

Nope, back to Alice: Madness Returns, I might go back to Mutant Blobs Attack later in the month if I have time though.
I liked Alice a lot more than I expected. Gameplay is nothing new but fun and solid all around; the story and presentation are great.

First game has aged to shit though and I don't see how it was as popular as it was even back then.

Damn, because Tomorrowland performed badly they cancelled Tron 3. I must have missed the news since I was on vacation last week. I suppose now Disney is only going to sink big money into surefire hits set in the Marvel and Star Wars universe.
