Unless they have changed it in an update in the last year and a half, a PS+ PS3 game is imprinted with the date your current PS+ is set to expire when you download it. If you add extra years to your PS+ after the fact, that license is not automatically refreshed on anything you have downloaded. To give it the new expiration date you have to start the download of that particular game, which will authenticate the new expiration date, and then you can stop the download, in order to play it again.
I ran into this issue on deployment when my console was offline several months. My licensed refreshed when I was able to connect to PSN again. I didn't have to start any downloads or anything...

You're not very far in. Getting 100% in each area gets a lot more monotonous as you go along since there's no variation at all.
Yeah not much variety but still better then chasing down 350 or more shards like previous Infamous games and all the insane collectibles in AC Unity. Infamous SS is an easily plat. Must be I have it.

Yeah last winter here in NY was horrible. Worst in many years. And the first time I had to shovel my own snow in many years. Even with a smallish driveway and a small snow blower it was HORRIBLE. Still I deal better with the cold then I do with the heat. Mowing the lawn in 90 degree weather is worse to me then running the snow blower in 20 degree weather. I would end up in jail (or seriously injured) if I mowed the lawn naked. I can always put on another jacket in the winter.

Speaking of Atlanta. I connected through there on my trips to and from Florida. You guys get a crazy amount of thunder and lightening. Almost didn't make my last flight home.
That is why I pay someone to cut my grass. You can afford to do that with the lower cost of living.

Like most of the south, we tend to get a lot of lightning storms like that. Difference between here and Florida, ours usually last more than 5 minutes.

I guess central Africa has more lightning strikes than anywhere else in the world but central Florida is still the lightning capital of the US.  Probably cause it does it nearly every day and more during the summer.  Fun times.

Yup, those powers are the best part of the game and the main reason First Light is so fun.
I actually enjoyed the original powers too. Took most of the work out of climbing which was nice.

Also,
Fetch is the most interesting of the side characters and after the period you're in now she disappears pretty much until the end of the game.
Gotcha. I guess I'll see how I feel further in then :)

Well, Infamous 1 more than Infamous 2 since in 2 you could use the user mission to collect them all. But yeah it's a quick, easy plat, it's just nowhere as satisfying as the first two games even though the mechanics of the movement and climbing and such are clearly improved. Honestly it feels like they spent so much time working on the game engine (to great effect) that they neglected the game content in the process. First Light was a lot better and I'm expecting the next full game to be great now that the engine is worked out.

I've not played Unity yet. Rogue was actually fun to get all the collectibles in, though (except for the fishing skins). The different environments helped a lot since it felt like you really had an element of exploration, while Second Son didn't really have that kind of feel.

The GS site is selling retro games now. The prices are actually pretty reasonable.

I clicked Games and the first one on the list was Arkham Knight. Instant classic? :bs:

I've never heard that you have to download it again, just boot it up again and it will be updated with the new date. And I thought that was only if you let your PS+ lapse in between. My games always update correctly when I add years of PS+.
If you're correct about this, I need to kick myself in the head. It works fine on PS4 and Vita but for PSP and PS3, I always had to trigger a redownload of the game to get the expire date to update.

Yeah as much as I like 1&2 SS just feels more polished to me. I just checked a faq...says I'm about halfway through the story (12 of 23 missions) though so I'm further than I thought. I could see the light on content. I'm with you though I'd love to see the next one with a fully fleshed out longer game with more variety because I really like this game so far. I guess First Light will be a nice bonus.

Maybe SS2 will be our Infamous 2 of this gen!!!

Without spoiling, just wait until you get your next powers. Commuting gets super easy.

Wasnt ZombiU a Wii U launch game? And maybe it was just pre release banter but I thought it was laughed at by how last gen it looked.
Yeah it was a launch game. Overall I think the reviews on it said it was a pretty solid game. Anecdotal, but most of the people I know who played it seemed to enjoy it. I never got around to picking it up personally, but I wouldn't mind trying it out on PS4 depending on the price. Don't remember seeing much about the graphics, but I wouldn't be surprised if a 3rd party wii u launch title looked like balls. Maybe they'll redo some of the textures or something for the XB1 + PS4 versions?

Yeah that news story has been floating around for about a week here. It's pretty funny. Pretty big dumbasses to think doing something like that was a good idea.

Also, I would not ever voluntarily travel to Orem.
They'd have been fine it they called it European Heritage Night or Old World Heritage Night. That shit's Marketing 101.

Yeah they should have done something like that.

Though the actual day isn't about Caucasian heritage or anything. It was just going to be about making fun of white stereotypes. Here's the description of the evening:

"Our night was to include wonder bread on burgers with mayonnaise, clips from shows like Friends and Seinfeld and trying to solve the vertical leaping challenge."

It's actually a fun idea, but they should have come up with a way better name.

This Gears of War 1 remake looks like it might be a bit of a phone-in job, visually anyway. Which is surprising after how good Halo 2 looked:

If they weren't labeled, it would be near impossible to see which one was the new gen version. Some of the textures in the X1 version are really bad, worse than the 360 version which came out like a decade ago.

That almost looks made up. The gears games were insanely good looking, I don't know what that bottom mess is.

Let's hope the Uncharted collection looks really good!

Why is the rhino in that second pic? Is this a common gears thing? If so, wow, I really should have tried to play those.

To be fair it's still in beta, so it could look improved in 2 months.

Um. Isn't that a beta? As in a test demo that doesn't have the full resources of the main game and in no way represents the final product? Are they really attempting to make something out of this?

That looks right up there with the Silent Hill HD remaster.

Another engineer sent me this video and I found it pretty interesting.  It takes a few minutes to get through to the concept so those with ADD might not want to bother.

I guess it could be used as ammo by people like Tyler who can only play games with a certain style of camera control.  Of course, that should be much easier to adapt to than what this was.

Probably do that next year. Also probably pay to have someone clean up the leaves late in the fall. I am too old for this shit. Just getting used to all the expenses of owning vs renting.

How do you like Aqua Kitty?
I like it a lot so far. Not particularly good at bullet hell though, so I"m stuck on the crab boss currently. The couple times I've gotten through all the trash enemies I get stuck doing no damage because of the claw shield things. Took me a run or two to figure out that's what was happening. I've been playing on vita though, so I'm going to try and see if playing on ps4 changes anything, but I doubt it. Really cool concept for the game tho with the making sure all the kitties don't get abducted. Glad I picked this one up on a whim.

Also don't forget to bump up the res on the embeded youtube video. It defaults to 240p for me. Even so not really impressive looking. I wonder what the PC version looked like?

Attention sandwich lovers:

Potbelly's has a new barbecue pulled pork sandwich.  It's pretty tasty.  Has a tiny bit of a kick.  Get it.
