It's definitely unique. And not really bullet hell style since you can destroy bullets and have a rather large health bar. Some in the stream yesterday were comparing it to a mech/shooter combo.

If you love the genre, I think you'll be happy. If you're only a casual fan of the genre, I think you'll feel like you paid too much for it.

Yeah, i got sort of a Sin and Punishment vibe from the gameplay I saw. Looks pretty fun, but I rarely do replay those a ton (even though it's kind of the point). Will keep thinking on it. It'll only get cheaper while I decide.

I hardly drink anymore. Not since a couple years ago when I was drinking practically every night with friends. I had to stop. Things got too crazy and expensive.

After last night I think I'm gonna start it up again. We're supposed to go out drinking again in 2 weeks. We went to a couple places including this gay bar, I got some gay punch lol. It had a bunch of fruity shit and looked like a gay pride flag, I tried like 7 different drinks and took about 5 shots. It was 2 for 1 night. I was definitely feeling good.

I forgot to mention it (because it doesn't bother me at all) but it's basically impossible to follow the story. The voiceover work is only in Japanese (no English dubs) so it's only text in English. They like to continue the story through the level, so while you are busy blasting a bunch of enemies, there is story-related text on the bottom of the screen. It's not possible to read it while playing.

You can still watch the cutscenes and stuff, but you definitely can't follow the whole story with just the cut scenes. Its a really huge weird oversight. I'm sure doing an English dubbing was expensive but it's kind of essential in this situation.

No. He just gave me some antibiotics because he thought the pain and swelling were from an infection. He said once the swelling was gone, he could take it out if I wanted, but there shouldn't be any reason to unless I'm just annoyed by the small bump.

I think it was there for years before because I could feel it if I pushed hard right where my scalp meets the back of my neck, but it never felt bigger than about the size of a pea.

fuck I'm bored. I went home to pick up some clothes since I'm housesitting this weekend. Most my friends and family are going out of town for the weekend but I have to work Sunday. And now I don't know what to do with myself. Anyone gonna stream?

Did you pick up Jamestown? I'm generally not a big fan of shmups but that game blew me away.

Yeah, I noticed that in gameplay videos. Seriously doubt the story is worth following anyway. Another thing I noticed is that at least one of the characters has a super fucking annoying voice. Sounded kind of like Pikachu. I don't watch a lot of Japanese stuff so that sort of shrill over the top VA might be common.

Yup, loved it. Even picked up the DLC ships. In addition to being a great shmup (good variety of ships that were all fun to play around with), the revolutionary-war-in-space schtick was awesome.

Pretty cool that Octodad on vita has some different trophies but I dont remember the load times being this horrible.

Edit: Well some are different for sure. Also reloaded a checkpoint and got stuck in the ceiling so thats nice.

They were offering free ship to store when I looked at it this morning, but now I'd have to pay an extra $3 for shipping unless I scrounge up $30 more stuff to buy. Sale goes through Monday so maybe they'll be some decent stuff on sale Sunday to use as filler.

I've reached a conclusion after getting 110 of these riddler trophies.

There is zero benefit to not using a guide. I'm going to find one now and use it.

Are they really that hard to get? Placing a waypoint for a Riddler trophy shows you exactly where it is and it isn't difficult to find the way to get to them. The only thing that confused me once was finding a trapped trophy near a pair of numbers, but looking that up revealed that they're map coordinates (yes, I felt like an idiot for not thinking of that).

Then again, maybe you're referring to ones trapped behind nasty puzzles, which would be understandable.

Also locking the 'true' ending behind 100% completion is a dick move. I can't believe you don't even get the lousy gold trophy for doing the ending without 100%. dumb.

I installed a new storm door today.

about 1/3 are puzzle trophies and some of them straight up suck (like ones where it isn't apparent that you have to use a ramp 6 blocks away to get the batmobile on top of a building to follow a hidden path). the riddles get pretty obtuse and you can't cheat scan in all directions to narrow it down since it will pick up other solutions in the city too (obscured, too small). One was in a shipping container where you couldnt see the entrance and then you have to batclaw something to actually see the answer. it also gets a little old tracking down green dudes but I may have finally run out.

but moreover why spend 10 hours doing it instead of 3? there's certainly no prize for doing this particular sort of busywork legit.

Yup. Once the page came back up I was able to deactivate everything (which you can only do once every 6 months) and then activate the vita.

Now all I need is time to play. And for it not to be 80+ degrees at 9 o clock at night.

 
crazy or bums, either of you have issues with psn?

cant get on destiny so tried a test and it says psn sign in failed but it shows like 40 people on and some in destiny.

never mind, finally worked.

That was weird.

I had to disconnect the PS4 wireless and then reconnect so I could sync trophies earlier after PSN came back up.

I already knew my wife was great, but now I'm starting to get a little suspicious... brings me home beer from one roadtrip, brings me home a Troy Baker autograph, Arkham Knight and a Battlefront preorder for Father's Day.... and now, yesterday she comes home with a pretty much mint copy of Nier because she knows I've been looking at it. 

I would say I'm a little worried about what she wants, but if this keeps up then whatever it is will probably be worth it.  Even told me about how she asked the GS employee if she could see the disc first.... she's no fool!

MKK story mode isn't as good as Injustice story mode.  :cry: I wasn't expecting much in the first place, but liking Injustice got my hopes up a little. Ah well.
