Bioshock Infinite 1999 mode is so much harder than Bioshock 2 hardest mode. I'm just getting torn apart in Columbia
You can farm gears at some point early on. Either do that or reload at one until you get Winter Shield. It breaks the game since you're invincible for some frames every time you hook jump.

Blood to Salt is awesome, too. Basically, get some gears :)

No the game is terrible. I am done too. Cant stand it. The game is just broken.
I actually started up Helldivers again. Double xp plus a horde mode, sign me up. Each mission now only takes 5 minutes and you get xp whether you die or not.

Maybe I can finally get the plat since all I need is the level up trophy.

Does that blurry cam pic mean anything to any of you?
Unless I'm mistaken or it's in the newest DLC, the ground on which that car is driving looks dirt-like and isn't found in any of the standard arenas. The car's shape also looks kind of weird.

I'll join up if they fixed cross play. horde mode sounds bitchin unless it's horde mode with limited reinforcements.

(ac syndicate glitch videos)
this is the least glitchy AC game I've played since 2 I think. I've seen the missing cart people once or twice and a couple people floating up in the air but otherwise no weirdness, no falling through the environment, not even framerate dips or janky cutscenes. and I actually like the characters ok - they're not going to win any emmys but insofar as these stories go they check all the ac stereotype boxes. plus the batclaw. that turned out to be a great idea.

I finished up all the mapped collectibles this morning which was a nice treat - so few! I'll have to look at a guide for the non-mapped ones (or apparently buy the map for 1000 helix credits? double you tea eff?). it feels like the game has the right amount of extra stuff to do (which is honestly my favorite part) but it sucks a little that a few of the trophies are so needlessly grindy. c'est la vie, imma still get em.

The Walking Dead TV
That scene was fantastic, but I'm really fucking bummed right now. He was my favorite character.
I'm not entirely convinced he's gone yet, but that might just be me denying that my second favorite character just got eaten alive alone in some back ally where no one will ever find him or know what happened. Narratively speaking that's pretty damn fantastic, but man, right in the damn feels.

Mild have you jumped on any of the boats in the Thames yet?  The small ones with guys standing on them?  Every one of them falls in the water when you climb on or jump on the boat.  Most of the time they even have a second splash animation where they are shown standing straight up and falling in again.  Its very funny.  Try it.

But I agree so far this is the least buggy Ass Creed in a while.  I am not very far yet though.

yeah I played with those guys for a bit while collectible hunting, they're fun. there's definitely some crappy animations like that and some AI issues - in that same area I had three assassination targets in a row slip in to the water and kill themselves - but overall good. they also handled the driving well enough. pretty much everything that would've normally been a broken ass annoying mess in an AC game has turned out to be surprisingly fine on day one. I'm sure people will still be all 'lol syndicate so glitchy lol' like they were with unity because people like to hate on shit constantly or else they get blue balls or something.

you know which ac was glitchy?  fuck ing liberation on vita.  it had a 100% chance of corrupting your save if you collected too many collectibles or something prior to the last sequence (since patched I think).  once they finally patched it they had no way of correcting saves so the only option was to start over which is why I never finished it.

I played it later and never had that issue. The glitch I did have is that the map never showed the collectibles, which made finding them pretty difficult. Especially in the swamp; I'd have to play a YT video that showed the collection and then very carefully follow the video to find all the eggs and treasures and such tucked into tree crevices. I also had to go back and replay a few scenarios where you get one chance to pick up an item (which I often missed because the damn things never showed on my map.) It was a huge pain in the ass.

I just put Mad Max in the mail at the post office yesterday, so I decided to take a look at my Q to see what I might be getting next.  The only released games on my Q right now are:

Uncharted Collection

Back to the Future 30th

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Talos Principle

Surprisingly, Uncharted (medium) was the most available and BTTF (very low) was the least with the other 2 both being Low.

Did you guys prefer Rayman Legends or Rayman Origins? Finally sat down with it for an extended time yesterday, and I think its safe to say I enjoyed Origins way more than I'm liking Legends. The daily/weekly challenges are fun, even if I'm never going to be near the top of the leaderboards for the trophies since I didn't play at launch, but overall I still feel like Origins was the better game. Really disliking the touch and tilt controlled segments and they pop up way too frequently for my tastes. The touch controls in Origins felt a little more natural and less obtrusive. I don't know if I'd count the insane amount of content in Legends as a good thing or a bad thing yet. There's always something new popping up and pulling me away from what ever painting I was working on last. Not necessarily a bad thing (more stuff is almost always cool) but at the same time not something I'm expecting or wanting out of a platformer. Ended up getting frustrated with the game after an annoying murphy level followed buy an annoying speed run level last night, and just gave up in favor of easy and linear Dengeki Bunko.

Reading this I feel like you kept saying Legends when you meant to say Origins and Origins when you meant to say Legends.

Yeah, there's a few mix ups in there. Fixing now lol.

Edit: Okay, swapped the titles two times. That's not completely horrible.

Take Syndicate off of there, bastard! That's the one I'm hoping they ship me next.

I acknowledge that on paper at least Legends is the better game - more variety, incredible to look and play, seemingly endless content without being too repetitive, etc. I still prefer the linearity and shortness of Origins.

Last night I finished all but the last 3 Rapture levels and jumped to the boss and beat that. Wasn't too bad. Some of the regular levels were harder than the boss. Then I did the first The End level before calling it a night. I should say that by "finished" I don't mean A+ and bandage. I've left a lot of A+'s and bandages on the table. But this is the first time I've skipped any levels and gone to the boss. I guess I'm getting anxious to get that The End trophy!

Also, getting the Kid looks near impossible. That first level is insane! I tried a bunch of times and then gave up.

I finally got around to finishing the new Yahoo season of Community last night.  I was pretty impressed with the quality of the season and thought they ended it pretty cool knowing it'd probably be their last episode.  Lot's of funny moments.  If you were a fan of the show before and haven't checked it out, I recommend you do so.

Now to wait for the movie...

It boggles my mind when you guys keep calling Origins short. That game took me a while to 100%. Is it just the challenge nonsense that makes Legends so lengthy?

I fail at watching TV shows. I don't have a TiVo or equivalent and in any case I'm just no good at watching shows as they air. I watched a couple episodes of Last Man on Earth and then never managed to see any more and now I'm so far behind it seems like a chore to try to catch up.

I'm going to try to watch the new X Files, which is probably the last show I watched with some regularity. But even that show I missed entire seasons even back then.

I just visited the front page and you know what I realized? cag is a really shitty website.
The best was Cheapy used to call his server \programmer guy "Super Programmer John" (on the cagcast) and all I could think was does he even look at this own website?

I haven't really run into any huge bugs like that during my play through, but again it's way past release so they may have patched all the shit out.

Only have the climbing trophy, the human shield trophy (that I think I reset my count on because I quit out the game after human-shielded all the dudes to respawn them but I guess it didn't save like I thought it did shut up run-on sentence), and three more MP levels to go for the plat.

Finished Mission 29 in MGSV. Slow and steady wins the prize. Hopefully finish this one up by the end of Nov. if not sooner. I want to play Alan Wake next and then get rid of the 360.

As for Mission 29...DAMN!

It was the code talker parasite mission. I died like 5 times before I knew what was going on. Once I figured out the melee counter I got them down to 1 guy (from 4) and he managed to get one of those spike rock towers behind me (didn't see it) and it blew me up killing me. That sucked. Ultimately I ended up letting them attack me, then countered, once they were stunned threw a grenade at their feet, ran away a little and when that went off hit them with the launcher. Tactic worked out nicely but in hindsight I was thinking some landmines or C4 might have been smart too. Curious as to how others did it if you got stories. Kind of wondering if there was any easier way because it still took some time.

Nah, not just the challenges. There's a ton more levels and worlds to go through and it feels like you unlock a new one every 5 minutes. I don't have the patience to try to 100% either game, but even without looking at the daily/weekly challenges, there's a ton more content in Legends. Origins wasn't exactly a short platformer, going for the plat or not, but it's still a shorter game than Legends.

People who watched last night's Walking Dead:

Apparently Glenn might not be dead based on the camera angle and the fact that he had another dead guy's body on top of him.
Agreed.
Yes, they cheated in that way. And the fact there is a dumpster right there where he will shimmy under.

It's a bit cheap by the show, but most will be happy to have him back.

And on the talking dead, whenever a main character dies, they are on the show to talk to the fans, which he wasn't last night.

I definitely prefer Origins. Something about it made it feel like a classic to me, while Legends was just fun.

It boggles my mind when you guys keep calling Origins short. That game took me a while to 100%. Is it just the challenge nonsense that makes Legends so lengthy?
nope, the game is just long as fuck. just off the top of my head I think there's 6 main paintings that each probably have ~10 levels + 4-5 'get there fast' levels (which are usually easy to get a gold on in a couple tries). none of the levels are particularly difficult so clearing the main game could probably be done in 10 hours or so if you didn't care about picking up all the guys (there's 10 in each level now - 2 in rooms like in origins and 8 hidden or in plain sight in the main level). I guess there were one or two bitch levels in land of the livid dead but nothing serious. +10 hours + 5 hours for cleanup if going for 100%

then there's the origins revival levels which might be another 50 levels. totally optional to the main story but completely required if you're doing trophies (you'll need the diamond cups and there's one for finishing all origins levels). +10-15 hours there.

then there's the murphy standalone levels. totally optional, no trophies I don't think. no idea how long all of these would take since I haven't looked at them in so long - +5 hours?

there's some goofy minigame thing. good for maybe .5 hours, I think there's a trophy associated with it too.

then there's the dailies. which are fun but a long term grind/requirement if you're doing trophies (3-6 months at this point depending on how good you get). +20000000 hours.

So realistically the plat is insanely long (especially now), but the core game just playing through all the levels is easily a 20-30 hour commitment which is pretty stinking long for a platformer. Note that most of that commitment is better than most games dream of being, but yeah it's pretty long.

I also died several times before I could find the right strategy. What I ended up doing was taking my strongest shotgun, running to an area with lots of stationary obstacles (to block the Skulls' gunfire), and waiting for melee counters. After each counter, I unloaded 3-4 shotgun shells into the stunned Skull; I ran out of shells once, but I was either able to request a supply drop really fast or one appeared automatically (I don't remember). It took much less time than I expected to finish them all off and I S-ranked the mission. Hopefully this strategy will work for the Extreme version.

The car looks like a hard hat with wheels. Maybe just playing on the theme of changes that are being made.

Cloak and Dagger or Bounty Hunter? Friends and I usually warm up with Bounty, then roll Cloak a lot until we get tired.

Bounty only as much as possible, not a fan of the cloak and dagger. Its not hard, its just too much time with nothing going on.

I climbed to a roof and peaked over the edge headshotting with my sniper. Also had Quiet with me staged opposite of where I was doing the same. Took no time at all. Just have to move out of the random rock burst now and then and they will very rarely teleport up for a melee.
